Chapter 81 - Chapter 81: Just a Passing Demon Hunter

Chapter 81: Just a Passing Demon Hunter

Edward's voice echoed in the empty mall, each word clearly striking Solomon Goode's nerves.

"Demon Hunter?"

Solomon Goode was first stunned, then, as if he had heard the funniest joke of the century, he burst into uncontrollable laughter.

His laughter was sharp and grating, filled with undisguised contempt and mockery.

"Hahahaha! Demon Hunter? In this day and age? Kid, you've watched too many movies!"

He pointed at Edward, his facial muscles contorted by wild laughter: "I'll admit, you've got some parlor tricks, able to temporarily freeze my servants.

But so what? You think with this little magic act, you can challenge a three-hundred-year-old pact between the Goode Family and Hell itself?"

Solomon's gaze suddenly turned vicious, his gentle facade completely torn away, revealing the raw malice beneath.

"You don't understand what you're facing. Every inch of ground beneath your feet is soaked in demonic power. And they," he pointed to the frozen killers, "are extensions of Hell's will! They are undying executioners!"

"Now, I've changed my mind." Solomon's voice deepened, carrying a cold, declarative tone, "I originally intended for Miss Deena to go alone, but since you're in such a hurry to die, I'll grant your wish!"

"I will tear your soul to shreds, as an extra offering for the Devil himself!"

The moment his words fell.

VWOOM—!

A power far more intense and evil than before erupted from Solomon Goode.

That power, like a black tide, instantly washed over the entire mall!

The killers, held captive by Edward's telekinesis, began to tremble violently.

Edward maintained his telekinetic hold, hands still in his pockets, expression unchanged.

"Oh, they're fighting back? Seems my telekinesis development is still incomplete—at least on the supernatural side, needs some work. I'll have to train harder," Edward thought to himself, then said aloud: "But with that kind of power boost, you're paying a hell of a price."

Solomon Goode's expression flickered; he hadn't expected the stranger to read him so easily.

He had indeed prayed to the demon for greater power through the pact, at the cost of years off his own life.

But he didn't care; as long as he could deal with this arrogant bastard today, everything would be worth it!

"MOVE... FOR ME!" Solomon roared like a rabid animal.

BOOM!

The invisible telekinetic barrier shattered completely!

All the killers regained their freedom!

Their movements were faster than before, and the malice radiating from them was even purer and more terrifying!

"Kill him!" Solomon pointed at Edward.

ROAAAR—!

The Burlap Sack Killer, who was closest, was the first to respond.

His single eye locked onto Edward, and he stomped down, instantly cracking the concrete floor! His massive body transformed into a dark blur, the fire axe in his hand tearing through the air with a vicious whoosh, and with enough force to split a tree trunk, it came down toward Edward's head!

The power of this axe strike was enough to cleave a car in half!

Deena, Sam, and Josh screamed in terror, instinctively closing their eyes.

In their minds, facing such a devastating blow, that man would surely die!

However, the expected scene of blood and carnage didn't happen.

Instead, there was a crisp metallic click.

CLANG!

Edward didn't even move his feet.

Just as the axe blade was about to touch his hair, a massive pistol appeared—entirely silver-white, exquisitely designed, and engraved with intricate patterns.

Ivory!

Edward raised his hand, pointing the muzzle at the Burlap Sack Killer's grotesque head.

Then, he pulled the trigger.

BOOM!!!

A deafening roar, completely unlike any ordinary firearm, exploded in the mall like a thunderclap!

The sonic boom made Deena and the others' eardrums ring and their heads spin.

The moment the bullet left the barrel, a brilliant muzzle flash bloomed.

The screaming bullet, as if carrying divine judgment itself, drilled straight into the Burlap Sack Killer's single eye.

Time seemed to slow down.

The massive body, along with the heavy fire axe, froze mid-swing.

Then.

SQUELCH—

A wet sound, like a melon being punctured.

The next second.

SPLAT!

The Burlap Sack Killer's cloth-wrapped head exploded like a watermelon hit by a shotgun blast from the inside out!

Blood mixed with dirt, blackened brain matter, shattered skull fragments... everything transformed into a gruesome fireworks display, spraying in all directions!

The headless, massive body, carried by sheer momentum, stumbled forward two more steps before collapsing to its knees, finally crashing heavily to the ground, kicking up a cloud of dust.

The fire axe clattered to the floor, its blade still dripping with its owner's brain matter.

One shot.

That monster who had chased them relentlessly, plunged them into despair multiple times, and seemed as unkillable as a nightmare, was just... gone?

Dead silence.

The entire mall fell into dead silence.

Deena, Sam, and Josh slowly opened their eyes, and when they saw the headless corpse, their expressions completely froze, minds blank.

Even Solomon Goode, standing in the distance, his vicious smile froze, replaced by incomprehensible shock.

"H-how is that possible?"

His servants were immortal! They were embodiments of demonic power! A gun shouldn't work—hell, even grenades couldn't destroy them!

However, Edward didn't give him time to process.

As the Burlap Sack Killer fell, another killer—the "Camp Nightwing Priest" in bloodstained clerical robes with fanatical eyes—had already rushed from the side. He had no weapon in hand, but his eyes, glinting with unholy light, proved he was equally deadly.

Edward didn't even turn to look at him.

He blew on the non-existent smoke from Ivory's muzzle, activating his telekinesis.

CRACK!

An invisible force struck like a freight train!

The priest's facial bones instantly shattered, and he flew backward like a baseball hit for a grand slam, at several times the speed he'd charged in!

CRASH—!

The priest's body arced through the air for dozens of feet, finally slamming hard into a support pillar at the far end of the mall!

The sturdy concrete pillar cracked like a spiderweb from the immense impact, forming a massive body-shaped crater!

The priest's body was embedded in the pillar like roadkill, his limbs twisted at unnatural angles, every bone clearly broken.

At the same time, two more killers found their targets.

The Milkman moved with eerie speed, silently circling behind Jennifer, the glass bottle in his hand raised to smash her skull.

Ruby Lane let out a sharp shriek, charging from the front, her straight razor whistling through the air as it slashed toward Jennifer's throat!

One from the front, one from the back, perfectly coordinated, a killing box!

However, a predatory smile appeared on Jennifer's face.

The moment the bottle was about to connect, her body bent backward at an impossible angle, her entire torso almost parallel to the ground, perfectly dodging the Milkman's strike.

At the same time, she extended one long, elegant leg, precisely hooking Ruby Lane's ankle as she charged forward.

"Ah!"

Ruby shrieked, instantly losing her balance, and tumbled toward Jennifer.

Jennifer snapped her body upright with inhuman flexibility and grabbed Ruby's head with both hands.

Then, she used Ruby's body as a weapon, swinging her violently backward!

The Milkman was winding up for another attack when he saw his "companion" being used as a human flail, hurtling straight at him!

He had no time to dodge!

WHAM!

The two killers collided with a sickening crunch, falling like bowling pins.

Before they could recover.

Jennifer's figure had already appeared before them.

She planted her stiletto heel on Ruby's chest, pinning her down.

Then, she bent down and casually plucked the straight razor from Ruby's weakened grip.

Jennifer twirled the razor elegantly between her fingers, giving Ruby a smile that was equal parts sweet and sadistic.

"Honey, that's not how you use one of these."

Before she finished speaking.

SLASH!

A silver flash!

The razor in Jennifer's hand traced a perfect arc, instantly severing Ruby's hand and foot tendons!

After finishing, Jennifer tossed the razor aside like trash, then kicked the shrieking woman away with contempt.

In seconds.

Of the four killers, one was headshot, one was embedded in concrete, and two were crippled.

The remaining killers—the Skull Mask Killer and Billy Barker—stopped in their tracks, watching the brutal efficiency, and in their empty eye sockets, a hint of... fear seemed to emerge?

The entire mall fell into eerie silence again.

Solomon Goode's shock had transformed into uncontrollable rage.

He stared at Edward and Jennifer, his body trembling with fury.

"No, impossible... What the hell ARE you?!"

He couldn't understand why his invincible servants would be so vulnerable against these two!

"No... it's not over yet!" Solomon Goode's eyes blazed with madness, "They are immortal! As long as the pact stands, they'll rise again!"

He raised his hands, as if embracing some invisible entity, and began to chant in a crazed tone.

"In the name of Solomon Goode, heed my call!"

"Rise from death! Return from the grave!"

As he chanted, visible dark energy emanated from beneath the mall floor, like living snakes, quickly burrowing into the bodies of the fallen killers.

From the Burlap Sack Killer's severed neck, countless tendrils of flesh and blood vessels writhed frantically, a new head rapidly regenerating before their eyes!

The priest, embedded in the pillar, his broken bones made sickening crunching sounds as they forcibly reset!

And Ruby Lane and Billy Barker, crippled by Jennifer, their wounds rapidly sealed in the dark energy!
