Chapter 17 - Chapter 17: Woo-hoo, Taking Off!

Chapter 17: Woo-hoo, Taking Off!

By the time Edward returned to his doorstep, the rain had stopped. Edward's gaze drifted to the house next door.

He saw Victor playing fetch with his lively dog, Sparky, in the small yard. Sparky ran around happily, barking "woof woof" and occasionally yapping excitedly.

Edward looked at Victor and said, "Hey Victor, there's a really dangerous clown appearing in this neighborhood lately, specifically targeting kids. If you see anything suspicious, get inside immediately, okay?"

Victor stopped what he was doing, looked up, and with bright eyes, responded obediently, "I will, Edward." After speaking, he threw the ball again, and Sparky immediately shot out like a rocket, retrieved the ball, and happily bounded back.

Edward watched for a few more moments before turning and heading into his home.

"Edward, you're back!" Carrie's eyes lit up the moment she saw Edward enter, and she greeted him eagerly.

Edward quickly walked to Carrie's side, his face full of concern, "Carrie, how are you feeling? You doing okay?"

Carrie smiled sweetly, a hint of pride on her face, "Lily said I just had a sudden power surge last time and passed out from exhaustion.

You know what? I practiced all day yesterday at home, and now I can make a teacup float!"

"Really? Carrie, you're improving so fast!" Edward exclaimed in surprise.

Hearing this, Carrie, like a kid who'd just been praised, shyly lowered her head, a faint blush rising on her cheeks.

After talking with Carrie, Edward turned to find Lily. After finding Lily in the room, Edward lowered his voice and said, "Marquis, there's something I need to tell you. A clown has been targeting me recently. If anything unusual happens, you must protect them and notify me immediately."

Marquis heard this, frowned slightly, and let out a questioning "Hmm? Master, what kind of powerful entity have you provoked?"

Edward said slowly, "It's a clown that grows stronger by feeding on fear, somewhat similar to you, but it's even more twisted, with an indescribable creepiness."

Marquis's expression was serious as he replied respectfully, "Understood, Master. I'll keep a close watch."

Edward decided to find an isolated place to thoroughly test how strong his newly acquired EX Telekinesis truly was.

He walked into the bedroom, quickly changed into clothes suitable for movement, and then headed toward the door.

Before leaving, Edward paused, then turned back to look at Carrie, his eyes full of concern and instruction: "Training your ability is like working out a muscle; the key is precisely controlling where you apply the force.

The essence of Telekinesis is actually the precise influence of consciousness on matter. When you're just starting out, don't rush it. Take it slow, build a solid foundation, and first establish a 'thought-feedback-adjustment' loop.

Only by laying a strong foundation in the early stages can you truly achieve complete control when using Telekinesis later on."

He paused slightly, looking at Carrie with sincere and firm eyes, and said earnestly, "Remember, true strength isn't about the magnitude of power, but the ability to control it at will, to make it 'stop on a dime.'"

Carrie looked up at Edward, her eyes showing intelligence and understanding, and she nodded obediently, saying softly, "I understand, Edward."

Her expression was as if she had firmly engraved every word Edward said into her heart.

Edward went into the woods outside town. The forest had a quiet serenity during the day, but at this moment, in Edward's eyes, it was like a private training ground.

Edward found a relatively open clearing, took a deep breath, closed his eyes, and began to concentrate, trying to tap into the mysterious Telekinesis within him.

Not far away, a thick oak tree was the first to react. Its branches and leaves began to rustle, as if blown by an invisible gale.

Immediately after, the base of the tree slowly loosened, accompanied by a deep "creak creak" sound, and the entire tree was actually uprooted and suspended in mid-air.

Edward looked at the floating tree in front of him. He gently waved his hands, and the tree moved back and forth through the forest like a controlled chess piece.

The overgrown branches brushed against other trees, making "crack crack" sounds and startling a flock of birds.

After successfully controlling the tree, Edward turned his attention to several large boulders nearby.

These rocks, normally immovable, now seemed like lightweight toys under the influence of Edward's Telekinesis. With a thought, the boulders all lifted off the ground and arranged themselves into various strange shapes in mid-air.

All of this seemed effortless for Edward, as he fully displayed his newly acquired powerful abilities.

As his hands slowly clenched into fists, the floating tree and the boulders seemed to be subjected to immense pressure and began to crack. Immediately after, "crunch" sounds rose and fell, and the rocks instantly shattered into countless fragments, scattering across the ground and raising a cloud of dust.

Edward concentrated, covering his entire body with Telekinesis like a fine net, then slowly applied force, pushing downward.

The surrounding soil and gravel seemed to be pulled by invisible threads, gently floating upward. He crouched slightly, then suddenly looked up, and his entire body slowly ascended toward the sky.

Initially, his movements appeared extremely clumsy and slow, much like a toddler just learning to walk, wobbling unsteadily in the air.

However, Edward didn't lose heart. He kept trying, and through repeated attempts, he gradually found the knack for controlling flight. He took a deep breath, and with a powerful push, his body shot forward like a bullet from a gun.

But due to using too much force, his speed suddenly increased, and he instantly lost control of his direction, heading straight for a small hill not far away.

In this critical moment, Edward panicked. He frantically flailed his arms, trying to change his flight path.

Fortunately, at the last second, just as he was about to slam into the hill, he successfully made an adjustment, his body grazing the hillside and kicking up a huge cloud of dust.

After that, he continuously adjusted his posture in the air, sometimes ascending like a hawk, sometimes descending slowly like a falling leaf, and sometimes turning gracefully like a nimble swallow.

During this time, there were several instances where he almost crashed into the ground due to failing to precisely control the force.

But with his stubborn determination and his passion and love for flying, he took off again and again, continuing to explore the mysteries of flight in the air.

As time passed, Edward became more and more skilled at controlling his flight.

He shouted excitedly, "Woo-hoo!"

He flipped and circled freely in the air, fully experiencing the amazing sensation of the wind whipping past his ears and the ground rapidly falling away beneath him.

He flew higher and higher, looking down, and the vast, endless landscape was all within his sight. Mountains stretched on forever, rivers wound their way through valleys, and forests were thick and green. Edward hovered upright, watching all this beautiful scenery unfold like a painting beneath his feet.

Edward, feeling playful, struck Superman's classic flying pose in mid-air and shouted, "Up, up, and away!"

Just then, an airplane flew by. Inside the airplane cockpit, Alex excitedly slapped Claire next to him, shouting, "Claire, Claire, look! Someone's flying out there!"

Claire looked exasperated, thinking Alex was talking crazy again, and said, "You're seeing things, Alex. How can anyone fly in the sky? Get some more rest, and when we land in Paris, we'll do some sightseeing."
