Chapter 5 - Chapter-5 : New Neighbor

"The first version of the serum is complete," said a woman's voice.

"Have you tested it on a human?" asked a man hidden in the shadows.

"We tested it on sixty-seven humans. The last five showed good results."

"Seems like the project will be a success," he smiled.

"Get me one of the final serums," he said.

"Yes, sir."

---

Brzzz (taser sound)

Boom (explosion)

"That's the coolest thing I've ever done!"

In front of me was a concrete wall with a hole about one meter square wide. Smoke was still rising from it.

I was still near the railway track, surrounded by broken chunks of concrete. I was just testing my newly found abilities.

"So that's how it works," I muttered, staring at my hand.

(By the way, if you haven't figured it out, I was using my electric powers.)

Here's what I found out: I can discharge some kind of electrons out of my body and create a charge strong enough to produce a shockwave or something like that. I didn't really overthink how it works—my point is, it's cool as f*ck.

And that's not all. I can turn invisible. Yeah—somehow visible light passes through me without reflecting at all.

(That's how it looks.)

After thinking about how I want to be hidden

"This is awesome!"

I was completely invisible.

After messing around with my abilities for a bit more, I decided to try swinging across the city.

"First, I need a mask to hide my identity."

I went back to my hideout and started making one. I sewed a piece of red silk together, cut holes in it, then attached sunglasses I took from my house.

"I need clothes to hide my figure."

I grabbed an old red hoodie, dark blue pants, red-and-black sneakers (they look like Air Jordans), and wore blue surgical gloves (it's comfortable, okay?). To top it all off, I put on my web shooters.

"Well… this is it."

It looks like Spider-Man first suit from homecoming

I put the mask on.

"Damn, it is really hard to breathe."

I take it off immediately.

"How the hell did Peter wear a mask? It's really hard to breathe in this thing."

I looked toward my computer, grabbed the wireless earphones I made, and put one in my left ear. Then I attached a mini microphone inside my moutn and attached it on one of my teeth.

"SAI, can you hear me?"

"Yes, sir," a robotic voice replied.

"Scan my suit."

A camera looking things on the wall shot Lasers toward me from the left and right.

"Show me the 3D model."

A holographic image of my suit appeared in front of me.

(Let's see… there's a lot of work to do.)

After tweaking the design for a while, I went outside toward thw city and decided to head to one of the tallest buildings I could find. Using my sticky fingers, I climbed to the top and looked down at the streets below.

(By the way, I'm invisible right now.)

The building was about a hundred feet tall, and I was really nervous.

"Okay, Peter. You'll do just fine," I told myself.

"On the count of three."

"One."

"Two."

"Three."

I jumped.

"Oh f*ck, it's really high!" I was falling really fast

I raised my hand toward another building and made a rock-and-roll sign.

Phww (web shooter sound)

A web-like rope attached to the building. Just before I hit the ground, I swung forward.

"Woo-hooo!!"

I did the same things toward another building and I then swung from building to building for the next thirty minutes.

---

"Hey! Stop that guy!" a shopkeeper shouted at a masked thief running away.

I landed on a streetlight just as the thief approached.

The moment I saw him, time seemed to slow down. My perception sharpened. I wasn't sure I could hit him accurately—but I was wrong.

I shot a web at the bag he was holding and yanked it toward me.

"What the—?"

Before he could finish his word, I webbed his mouth, then his chest, and stuck him to the streetlight. He swung like a pendulum.

Then I vanished.

"What was that!" Said the shopkeeper while looking at the hanging guy

Small crimes like this happen all the time, so I patrolled for two hours straight, catching thieves and saving people.

As the sun set and I was about to head home, I noticed a man threatening a young girl in a dark alley.

"Give me all your money, or you'll regret it."

(Damn, that was kinda cringe.)

"Hey dude, what're you doing? It's not nice to threaten a young lady," I said playfully.

"Please help!" the girl screamed.

"Shut the f*ck up," he said, pointing a gun at her head.

"And who the f*ck are you?"

(Why is he swearing so much)

"I'm your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man."

"Are you joking with me right now?"

"You don't have to do this."

"The f*ck you know about m—"

Thump*

Before he could finish, the girl kicked him straight in the family jewels.

I immediately webbed his gun hand and pulled it toward me. I also web the girl and pull her towards me

"What the f*ck?!" he screamed.

I looked at the girl. "Are you okay?"

"Yes."

"If you can still walk, get out of here and go home."

I webbed the guy to a wall and called 911 using his phone, sealing his mouth shut.

"Mmmm!!"

I walked away into another darker alley and removed my mask.

"How the heck am I supposed to breathe in this?"

Step. Step.

(Someone is coming)

I then turned towards the sound, It was the same girl.

(Wait—I'm not wearing my mask.)

I instantly turned invisible and put it on.

"I just want to thank you!" she said nervously.

"And… I want to know your name."

I reappeared. "You don't have to thank me. You can call me Spider-Man."

(Why am I cringing?)

"My name is Gwen. Thank you for saving me."

(Wait… what?)

Blonde hair. Blue eyes. Pale skin. Beautiful face. Around fourteen to sixteen.

(There's no doubt about it. Gwen Stacy.)

Police sirens echoed nearby.

"You're welcome."

I vanished.

The sirens sound grew louder

After sometime, the police arrive to the scene, then one of them walk towards gwen.

"Young lady are you okay?" He asked

The girl was still looking toward the dark alley, where she was having conversations with the guy who called himself spider-man

"He was really handsome."
