Keifer's POV
I was so excited about the proposal, I did not know how the days went by. It's finally Friday the day I am going to confess my feeling.
Thankfully, we only had morning classes that day, so I met Jay in the morning and told her to Meet me at the park around 5:30 and she agreed .
After the classes, I quickly went to To my dorm Called my parents to let them know about my plan, started Speaking, " dad put it on speaker"
D: " you are On speaker, what you want to say? "
K: " Dad, Mom I am going to confess to Jay tonight, I have made a plan we have a place where we usually go and talk, I am going to that place and decorate it and I am going to tell her how I feel about her in our place"
Keifer's Mom & Dad: " That's a great plan Kief! All the best and update us after you guys have become a couple"
I blushed at that thought and said, " Sure!"
It was 4:30 so I quickly change into a white shirt and tan pants because it gave more date vibes and started to the park and started prepping for the arrangements, I wanted it to look like a cute picnic date. I set up the clothes, the flowers, the food and the lights.
The whole set up looked really pretty especially the baby pink and white rose that I have brought for her.
After finishing the set, I checked the time in my watch it was 5:20, Thank god I almost finished in time. I settled down in the place and started thinking her reaction which made me feel a little nervous, I know this is my Jay but still I couldn't shake the nervousness and excitement. I want to see her reaction when I say I Love you to her, I hope it's everything she wished for .
It was 5:50 she wasn't here yet maybe she is running, I thought to text her ask, whether she is running late but only to realise my phone had died. Shit!!
It's okay she will come maybe she is just running late. But the time turned 6:30 she wasn't here yet, did she forget but it is not possible I reminded her this morning, maybe I should go and check in her dorm, but what if she comes during that time and no one is here.
People started looking at me like I am some weirdo because I have been sitting in this picnic set up for almost an hour with no company but I did not care, I just waited Jay.
I started pacing around without knowing what to do and I decided I will wait till 7:30, if she does not comes by then I will go to her dorm and check on her.
I kept checking the time and hoping finally she would come and that's when someone tapped on shoulder, a smiled formed in my face
K: " finally you are he-" I stopped mid sentence only to realise it was Sara
K : " Sara, what are you doing here? Do you know where Jay is?" I started bombarding her with questions to which she replied
Sara: " She is not coming" that all it took my smile to drop
K: " but why?"
S: " She had to go to her parents place, there was some kind of emergency and she tried to inform you but couldn't reach you. So she asked me to inform but I forgot and now only I rembered , Sorry"
K: " Is everything alright with her and when did she leave"
S: " she got a call from her father and she said she had to leave immediately"
K: " Do you know when she will return?"
S: " No" that is when she noticed the set up and asked, " Were you gonna propose to her today?"
I nodded my head with almost no expression
S: " I am sorry, I will help you take them back"
K: " Thanks but it's fine"
S: " No, I insist please, I am also guilty for not informing you"
K: " Okay"
S: "if it makes you feel any better, I think she was kind of looking forward to hang out with you this evening "
K: " Thanks but you don't have to console me like this"
S:" No, I am serious, she was trying on dresses and had this huge smile on her face"
K: " really?"
S: " Yes, too bad she didn't get to see all this but wait I will take a picture and show it to her after the proposal "
K: " you know I just thought maybe after tonight she will be my girlfriend and we could go on dates the whole weekend, I had everything planned"
S: " it's okay there might a reason it is getting delayed"
K: " yeah, maybe"
We soon finished cleaning up the place and I went to my dorm and plugged my phone in my charger and plopped in the bed and I was kind of upset but I couldn't blame her, but as far as I know she doesn't like to stay in her parents and I should check on her. I quickly went and grabbed my phone and there was calls and texts from Jay saying she couldn't come.
I tried calling her but she did not pick up and I texted her asking whether she reached safely and is everything alright but there was no reply and soon sleep consumed me and without my knowledge I drifted to sleep.
