Her entire universe had shrunk to the broken man bleeding out in her arms.
"Li," Elara choked out, her voice cracking as she desperately pressed her hands against the ruined silver plating of his chest. "Li, look at me. Please, look at me."
He was so cold. The untouchable Emperor of the Heavens, whose mere presence used to radiate the blinding, comforting warmth of the morning sun, felt like cracked porcelain left out in the winter snow.
