Chapter 1 - A Useful Provision of Context

Jeff never could've imagined he would finally find a stable and "meaningful" job in the afterlife. In fact, his interviewer was so surprised someone actually applied for the job that they just gave it to him on the spot, "before he could change his mind". But the thing about Jeff is that he wasn't exactly a grammar nazi. If anything he was dyslexic.

From arch angel Michael's point of view it was very lucky, he actually got someone to apply for the position as afterlife placement manager for all eternity, he didn't even bother interviewing the man in case they realized they read it wrong or decided to think it over.

The biggest question besides how Michael, a man taking advantage of another man's disability, was an arch angel, was what Jeff misread "for all eternity" as. Perhaps he read it as four days on, three days off?

Though seriously, who cares? Because poor Jeff, who was very obviously not qualified, certainly didn't. And as long as Jeff got his afterlife insurance discount he was good to go.

Of course, Jeff made mistakes, and this is where I promise you it starts to get interesting.

The setting of the mistake took place in Jeff's new, now old, office which was unironically all white. Who knew heaven was so cliche?

As Jeff was checking boxes, filing forms, and sending in-voices as he usually would, but he accidentally checked the wrong box probably because of his dyslexia or maybe it was just a genuine error.

Wow!

How interesting!

Of course, his actions had consequences. Consequences that Jeff would never face because now it was the sorry bastard whose name was right next to the miss-marked box problem.

How utterly unfortunate for our hero.

And so dear reader, watch our knight in shining armor get absolutely fucked over by Jeff's simple mistake.
