Keifer's POV
She was here.
In this house.
Her voice trembling, saying nobody loves her.
Lie.
I love her.
More than anyone ever could.
But I can't say it.
Not yet.
Not until I secure my inheritance.
When she asked me if I ever loved her
I wanted to say Yes, so much that I will kill
myself for her
But I couldn't
I'll come to you, Jasper Jean Mariano Watson.
Then I'll earn your forgiveness.
When she said she doesn't love Yuri… my heart soared.
For the first time in years, I felt hope.
When she looked at me, asking if I ever loved her…
God, I wanted to scream yes.
Yes, enough to bleed for her.
Yes, enough to kill for her.
Yes, enough to burn this entire family to ash if it meant she'd look at me and see only me.
But I couldn't.
Not yet.
So I smirked.
I lied.
I let her believe I used her.
Not when the truth would ruin everything.
So I swallowed the words.
And let her believe the lie.
Because sometimes silence is the only way to protect the person you love.
She ran out of the house.
Without thinking, I immediately chased after her.
Her footsteps echoed against the pavement, frantic, desperate.
Mine followed, heavier, faster, driven by something deeper than fear.
I couldn't let her go.
Not now.
Not when she thought I didn't care.
Not when she believed the lie I fed her.
"Jay!" I shouted, my voice raw, but she didn't stop.
Every second she was farther from me felt like a blade twisting in my chest.
I didn't care if the whole world saw me running after her.
Everyone else was chasing too—Angelo, Aries, Percy, Section E—voices overlapping, calling her name.
But she didn't stop.
She never looked back.
She didn't even notice we'd been running for almost thirty minutes.
Her legs carried her like she was trying to outrun the truth itself.
And then—it happened too fast.
The blinding headlights.
The screech of tires.
The sickening impact.
A car hit her.
My world stopped.
One second she was there, the next—gone.
She was nowhere to be found.
My chest tightened, panic clawing at me.
"JAY!" I screamed, my voice tearing through the night.
Hoping, praying she'd answer back.
"JASPER JEAN MARIANO!" I roared, the name echoing, desperate, broken.
Everyone else was shouting too—Percy, Angelo , Aries, Section E—but their voices blurred together, useless noise.
But the silence that followed was worse than death.
Angelo's hand shot out, grabbing my collar, his eyes burning with rage. "This is all because of you! I told you to stay away from my cousin!"
I didn't fight back.
I didn't say a word.
Maybe because deep down… he was right.
Percy stepped in, yanking me free from
Angelo's grip.
His glare cut through the chaos.
"You told him to reveal the plan," Percy snapped. "So you're just as much a part of this."
I froze, staring at Percy.
Four years—and he still stood by me.
Even now, when the whole world wanted me gone.
My chest tightened.
He knew.
He always knew.
"I know everything," Percy said, his voice
steady, unshakable.
"Shut up! This isn't the time to argue or blame," Aries snapped, his voice shaking. "Jay got hit by a car and she is nowhere to be found. We don't know if she's still alive or—"
"Don't you dare complete that sentence," I
cut in, my eyes burning red, my voice low and dangerous.
Everyone was froze
I could feel every heartbeat pounding in my chest, every breath like fire.
The thought of her being gone—dead—was something I refused to let exist.
"She's alive," I growled, fists clenched so tight my nails dug into my palms. "She has to be. I'll find her. Even if I have to tear this city apart brick by brick."
"Keifer is right… Jay is still alive. We just have to find her," Ci‑n said, tears streaking his face but his voice steady with conviction.
"Yeah," Felix added with raw determination.
"Then what are we waitin' for? Let's go and search for her!" David shouted, his voice trembling but strong.
We all nodded.
No hesitation.
No second thoughts.
And so we searched.
One hour passed.
Nothing.
Two hours.
Still nothing.
Three hours.
The streets blurred together, shadows stretched long, and yet—she wasn't there.
Every second without her felt like a knife twisting deeper into my chest.
My lungs burned, my legs ached, but I didn't stop.
I couldn't.
Because she was out there.
Because she had to be.
"Keifer, she is not here," Yuri said, his voice flat, almost cruel.
"Maybe she really is dead."
"No!" I snapped, tears burning down my face. "She is still alive. Stop saying that!"
"She really is gone," Aries whispered, his voice breaking. "I couldn't even protect her… what kind of big brother am I?"
"Our mutya is really gone," Blaster muttered, his usual fire dimmed.
"Jay really is gone," Ci‑n added, his voice trembling.
"Shut up!" I roared, my chest heaving. "She is still alive. I can feel it. Don't you dare bury her with your words."
Percy stepped forward, his eyes locked on mine, steady but heavy. "Keifer… please accept it."
I shook my head violently, backing away, my fists clenched so tight my nails dug into my palms. "No. I won't accept it. I can't. She's out there. She's mine. And I'll find her—even if I have to tear this world apart to do it."
The silence that followed was suffocating.
Their grief pressed down like a weight, but my obsession burned hotter, darker.
Jay wasn't gone.
She couldn't be.
And if the world thought it could take her from me, it was wrong
