Chapter 11 - Chapter eleven healed wounds

CHAPTER 11

Yelling

Her body jerked upright like she had been pulled from deep water. Her room was dark. Quiet. Too quiet. Her chest rose and fell fast, her heart pounding like it had been running without her.

Her hands went straight to her arms.

No wounds.

No blood.

She looked around.

Her bed. Her window. The chair with her jacket. Everything was normal. Too normal. For what she felt.

"so It was just…a dream" she whispered.

Her eyes dropped.

The diary lay open beside her pillow.

The pages were not blank.

They were shaking.

Ink bled slowly, like it was thinking before it spoke.

THE DREAM WAS A WARNING

NOT A MEMORY

Shut the fuck up you this nothing but a book guessing around girl!!!!

You'll say one today, and another thing tomorrow, if possible you may be the one in charge of my dream not to come through. "She frowned" then she thought back again on what she just said,...what I'm I saying? she asked herself

Did I also want what happened to happen?, no it can't be...A vampire?? No

She talked to herself as the book kept there not making any attempts like a non living thing.

"So it didn't happen," she said. "Not yet."

The diary stayed open.

Another line formed, slower this time.

WHAT YOU FEEL CAN STILL MAKE IT REAL

She closed the book with shaking hands.

Her breath steadied a little, but her chest still felt tight. The dream had felt too real. Dorian's eyes. Aiden's rage. The punishment. The closeness. The loss.

It had all felt like something already lived.

She slid out of bed and stood by the window.

The world outside was still asleep.

But Luna knew something had shifted.

---

Miss Harper was already awake.

Luna found her in the small sitting room downstairs, tea untouched, eyes distant like she had been waiting.

"You dreamed," Miss Harper said, not looking up.

Luna stopped. "You knew."

"I felt it," Miss Harper replied calmly. "The diary doesn't whisper anymore. It shouts."

Luna sat slowly. "It showed me the future."

"A future," Miss Harper corrected. "One of many."

Luna rubbed her arms. "It felt final."

"That's how it traps you," Miss Harper said. "Fear makes fate heavy."

Luna looked up. "So if I follow it…"

"It becomes solid," Miss Harper finished. "Yes."

Silence filled the room.

Then Luna asked quietly, "Why now."

Miss Harper finally met her eyes. "Because your heart is no longer neutral."

Luna looked away.

Miss Harper leaned forward slightly. "Malvex knows this too. He will stop trying to start war with blood. He will start it with choice."

Luna's voice cracked. "I don't want to choose yet."

"You won't," Miss Harper said. "Not tonight. But you must be careful who you stand close to."

---

Dorian stood alone in the upper hall of the vampire residence.

He hadn't slept.

The council chamber doors were closed behind him. Voices murmured inside. Judging voices. Measuring voices.

A messenger stood at the far end of the hall, head bowed, waiting.

Dorian didn't look at him.

"You lied," Dorian said calmly.

The messenger swallowed. "I spoke what I saw."

"You spoke what you were paid to see." he looked at him,

The messenger flinched.

Before Dorian could say more, the doors opened.

An elder stepped out. "King Vaelor requests you."

Dorian straightened his coat and walked in.

Vaelor sat alone this time.

No council. No witnesses.

Just the king.

"You fight wolves now," Vaelor said softly.

"I was provoked."

"You were seen," Vaelor replied. "That is enough for perception."

Dorian's jaw tightened. "Perception can be guided."

Vaelor studied him. "You believe Malvex is involved."

"I know he is."

"And yet you have no proof," the king said.

Dorian exhaled slowly. "Not yet."

Vaelor stood. "Then you will remain under watch. No punishment. No freedom either."

Dorian nodded stiffly.

As he turned to leave, Vaelor added, "Stay away from the girl."

Dorian paused.

"I can't," he said honestly looking away.

Vaelor's eyes hardened. "Then you will bleed for it later."

---

Aiden stood at the edge of the training grounds, fists clenched.

He kept seeing it.

The way Dorian looked at Luna.

The way Luna had stepped between them.

He hated that he understood it.

Ethan approached carefully. "You're going to wear a hole in the ground."

Aiden didn't answer.

"She's scared," Ethan said. "That's what this is."

Aiden finally spoke. "Of me."

"No," Ethan replied. "Of what choosing means."

Aiden turned away. "I won't force her."

"I know," Ethan said. "That's why this hurts."

Aiden nodded once.

Then quietly, "If the dream she saw was real… it ends badly."

Ethan frowned. "How do you know."

Aiden didn't answer.

---

Maya sat on her bed, staring at her hands again.

They were not glowing now.

But she could feel it.

Like something sleeping under her skin.

Every time Luna dreamed, her chest tightened.

Every time Luna hurt, her head rang.

She hugged her knees.

"This isn't normal," she whispered.

The room felt colder.

Not dark.

Just watched.

She didn't see the shadow move.

But it was there.

Waiting.

---

Later that night, Luna stepped outside alone.

She needed air. Space. Something that wasn't prophecy.

She didn't expect Dorian.

He stood by the gate, hands in his pockets, expression guarded.

"You're not supposed to be here," she said.

"I know."

She hesitated. "They're watching you."

"I know."

Silence stretched.

"This didn't happen yet," Luna said suddenly.

Dorian frowned. "What didn't."

She shook her head. "Nothing."

He studied her face. "You saw something."

She met his eyes. "A future. Maybe."

Dorian's voice softened. "And was I the villain."

"No," Luna said quickly. Then stopped.

Dorian smiled faintly. "That pause answered more than your words."

She stepped closer before she could stop herself.

Then stopped again.

The diary pressed warm against her side.

A warning.

Dorian noticed. "You're pulling away."

"I have to," she said. "If I don't, it becomes real."

He searched her face. "What does."

"The loss," she whispered.

Dorian took a step back.

That hurt more than distance.

"I won't force fate," he said quietly.

She nodded. "Thank you."

As he turned to leave, Luna reached out and grabbed his hand.

Just for a second.

Not a kiss.

Not a promise.

Just contact.

Dorian froze.

"So we don't forget this is real," she said softly. "Not the dream." and why do you choose not to harm me but to stay and flow with me as a vampire to a werewolf?

He squeezed her hand once, then let go.

From the shadows above, Malvex watched.

His smile was slow.

"She saw it," he murmured. "Good."

The board was set.

And the next move would not be gentle.
