Chapter 11 - Hunter Guild Showdown

Dash kept watching the girl argue with a knight who repeatedly shook his head as if he was reluctant to handle her request. The Elf knight told her that to look into or carry out her request, she needed to first consult with the authority in charge and suggested the girl write down her request to be submitted to the Guild. But the girl said that process took too long, and everything would be too late. Dash, watching them, grew curious.

"What the hell are they talking about?" Dash thought.

But before Dash could do anything, someone grabbed his shoulder from behind. He turned around to see Shel had come out of the Guild with a Human woman dressed like a receptionist, carrying a clipboard and wearing glasses, who was examining the giant boar with her mouth hanging open.

"Dash, this is the appraiser, Helen. She'll determine the price," Shel said, introducing Helen, the woman dressed like a receptionist.

When Helen turned to look at Dash, "KLOTAK," she was so shocked that she flinched and dropped her clipboard. She then examined Dash from head to toe and back up again, while Shel picked up the fallen clipboard and handed it back to her.

"Wow… I can't believe I'm seeing a Dragonkin in my lifetime. Incredible," Helen said.

"Huh… you know I'm a Dragonkin?" Dash asked, confused.

"I already told her," Shel answered.

"I didn't believe it at first… but… ah… I apologize. The price for this giant boar is the usual: 75 gold and 20 silver if you sell everything—the meat, hide, and tusks. What do you say?" Helen asked.

"Alright, just sell everything," Dash replied.

"Eh… don't you want to take a little of the meat? It's delicious," Shel suggested.

"Hmm… fine, if we take just a little… maybe about a kilo?" Dash asked.

"That's no problem if it's only that much. We'll give it to you for free," Helen replied.

"Alright, in that case, let's finalize the transaction," Dash responded.

"It's a pleasure doing business with you, sir…"

"Dash, my name is Dash," Dash answered Helen.

"Good, thank you, Master Dash," Helen said, bowing.

"Dash, how about we register as Hunters? Besides getting an ID, we can also get a special price when selling our catches," Shel suggested.

"Hmm… that's a good idea. Alright, let's register," Dash replied.

"Please come inside. I'll prepare the forms. Someone will haul the boar away shortly," Helen said, gesturing for them to enter the Guild.

"Alright, thank you," Dash replied, letting go of the rope.

They walked inside the Guild. However, before entering, Dash managed to turn his head and see the girl across the way finally leaving, grumbling and angry, her tail flicking back and forth.

"What's wrong, Dash?" Shel asked.

"Nothing, let's go inside," Dash answered.

Dash entered the Guild. He saw many Hunters of various races inside. Several Hunters were looking at the quest board, others were relaxing and chatting in groups, and the atmosphere in the large room was lively. But when they saw the entrance and saw Dash standing there with Shel, the atmosphere in the large room instantly went silent. All eyes focused on Dash.

Because Shel pulled him to walk further inside, Dash eventually ignored the stares from the people around him. But before they reached the receptionist, suddenly, "DRAP," a large, very muscular Orc stood in front of Dash and Shel. The Orc had a massive, double-bladed axe on his back and was taller than Dash. He looked intently at Dash's face, but then he looked at Shel next to Dash. His eyes looked like they were stripping Shel's body naked, making Shel slightly uncomfortable.

"You're a Half-Orc? You're pretty… why would you be with a weird creature like him? You'd be better off with me, wouldn't you? Burguk the Mighty," the Orc named Burguk asked, pointing his index finger right in front of Dash's face.

"Hah… the mighty? You? Hmph… seriously?" Shel said scornfully.

"I've been watching you since you came in and called Helen out. Come with me, let's have some fun," Burguk said, smiling so wide his lower jaw tusks jutted out.

Then Burguk shoved Dash aside and tried to put his arm around Shel, but "DUK," Shel elbowed Burguk hard in the stomach. Burguk immediately glared, clutched his stomach, and fell to his knees on the floor.

"Mighty, huh? That's all you got? Drop dead," Shel said.

"Come on, Shel," Dash urged.

"Yeah, let's go," Shel replied.

Just as they took one step, Burguk suddenly grabbed Shel's foot, making Shel look back. Burguk immediately stood up and lifted Shel by her caught foot with one hand, flipping Shel upside down with her head facing the ground.

"Hey… what the hell!" Shel shouted, angry and struggling, trying to punch Burguk's face.

"You think that little move could defeat me? I was just pretending so you'd let your guard down. Now you're coming with me, you mouthy woman, we're gonna have some fun," Burguk said seriously.

"Hey,"

Burguk turned to see Dash already standing in front of him, looking up slightly at him. Then Dash smiled.

"Let her go," Dash said.

"Hah? Let her go? Hahahaha… make me," Burguk challenged.

"Okay," Dash replied, still smiling.

Dash aimed a hand thrust at Burguk's chest, then "BLAM," he immediately changed his hand thrust into a powerful punch, without even hitting Burguk's body. The shockwave from his punch slammed Burguk far backward until he crashed into an empty dining table, shattering it. Burguk immediately stopped moving, and several people instantly rushed to crowd around him. Dash caught Shel and carried her princess-style when Burguk released her.

"Hehe, thank you," Shel said, kissing Dash's cheek.

"Okay, let's go over there," Dash replied casually.

Dash turned and walked toward Helen, who was now behind the reception counter, ready for them to register. Everyone was watching Dash and what he had done to Burguk, who was apparently known as a strong Orc. This left everyone silent, unable to say a word. After completing the registration and being paid, but with the amount deducted for destroying the table and chair after throwing Burguk into them, Dash and Shel, now holding their Rank F Hunter Guild IDs, walked out of the Guild together.

"Ugh… it wasn't even your fault, but our pay still got cut by two silver," Shel grumbled.

"It's fine. We have to go to the gate first, right? To repay Mr. Harold's money," Dash said.

"Yeah, that's right. Let's go," Shel replied.

They walked toward the city's main gate. As they approached the gate, Dash could see the white wolf-type Beastkin girl talking with Harold, Vonnes, and several other guards. The girl looked panicked and annoyed. She seemed to be directing the guards with gestures from both hands. She was pointing out of the city as if something urgent was happening.

"That girl again… what the hell is going on with her?" Dash wondered to himself as he walked closer to the gate with Shel.
