Chapter 68 - Vampire

These four spells are all relatively practical: one is area-of-effect damage, one is single-target control, one is an adventure spell, and the last is for setting traps.

According to Rhodes' estimation, a single Wall of Fire should cover a relatively wide area, but the only pity is that he cannot choose the location of the fire wall; this move can only be used to create terrain advantages.

As for environmental destruction, it won't happen. The flames of the Wall of Fire will not spread externally and will disappear after dozens of rounds. Calculated by his own power, that means four rounds. (In the game, it actually disappears after 3 rounds, but due to the needs of this reality, the duration of all spells is related to the protagonist's power.)

After completing the construction of the Tier 2 mage Guild, Rhodes can temporarily pause construction related to magic. Before obtaining the Wisdom Spell, even if a Tier 3 mage Guild is built, he cannot learn the spells inside.

He can now consider unit upgrades. Rhodes' goal is to prioritize the development of the Undead Race city and find a way to produce the Vampire.

The night passed without incident. Rhodes spent his first night in Dalaran. That night, the Blood Elf Prince Kael'thas took out the Emperor's personal sword.

He went to observe and feel the powerful Holy Light emanating from it. Compared to when it was first forged, it had undergone earth-shattering changes. It was originally forged by the best human craftsmen and then enchanted by High Elves enchanters; his father had participated in the creation of this weapon.

But now, the essence of the sword has changed completely; pure Holy Light flows over it entirely. This weapon can now only be crafted into one used by a Paladin.

Could it be that the human theory is correct, that the ultimate shadow truly is the ultimate Holy Light?

Rhodes and Jaina had told him what happened in the Tomb of Tyr. This sword had been lodged in the Faceless General for over 2,700 years, absorbing a large amount of Shadow Power, and could be said to have become a Shadow Weapon.

After being retrieved, Uther, Rhodes, and a type of life called Holy Light Elemental worked to purify it, completely removing the shadow from the weapon, or rather, converting that shadow into Holy Light.

Kael'thas then looked at the Holy Light crystal core in front of him, which was the remaining core of the Faceless General. It had also been purified by the same method. This process must be recorded; it might be useful later.

Kael'thas began the work of cleaning the old magical runes on the sword body and hilt!

The new magical runes must be related to Holy Light. Fortunately, Quel'Thalas produces many priests, and their research into the Holy Light is quite impressive.

After waking up the next day, Rhodes ate the breakfast brought by the servants, then opened the system interface again. This time, Rhodes chose to construct the Necropolis, which can recruit Vampires.

The construction requirements for the Vampire's Necropolis are quite simple, requiring two prerequisite buildings: an evil shrine and a cemetery.

It only requires 2,000 units of gold, 5 units of ore, and 5 units of wood to build. This amount of resources is nothing to Rhodes!

There is no pressure. With the Supply Depot, wood and ore are no longer rare resources, and Azeroth World can also produce large amounts of them.

After construction, Rhodes plans to first accumulate regular Vampires inside and then upgrade the building to an Advanced Necropolis in the future to summon the Vampire King, the true strongest unit.

The regular Vampire is not particularly strong, only counting as a decent Tier 4 unit, but its upgraded version is the true strongest king.

The Vampire King is one of the most bugged units in the Undead Race, holding a status even above that of the Black Knight.

The recruitment price for a Vampire is 360 units of gold, while the Vampire King costs 500 units of gold.

The Vampire King's attributes are overpowered even among Tier 4 units: Attack 10, Defense 10, Damage 5-8, but only 40 Health, and Speed 9.

But its true strength lies in its special abilities. First, this thing can drain health when attacking, and after draining health, it can resurrect, and the resurrection probability is extremely high. The formula for health-draining resurrection is both abnormal and outrageous.

For example, when the number of Vampire Kings reaches 4 (which is exactly its basic weekly output), basically every attack can resurrect a dead Vampire King.

And as the number of resurrected Vampire Kings increases, the amount of health drained per attack also increases. When the number of Vampire Kings reaches 9, each attack can resurrect 2 at once.

When the number reaches 64, up to 10 can be resurrected at once.

This means that if the enemy cannot deal more than 400 damage to the Vampire King in a single round, instantly killing it, they will never be able to defeat this unit due to the constant attrition of the Vampire King's ability.

Furthermore, the Undead Race can use the Animate Dead spell to resurrect the Vampire King, adding a greater margin for error.

The Vampire King also cannot be retaliated against when attacking, which is another extremely bugged skill.

The Vampire King can serve as the absolute core force of the Necropolis city. When fighting the AI, even on 200% difficulty, as long as you build the Necropolis and upgrade it to the Advanced Necropolis...

The Vampire King's only weakness is that it cannot drain HP from non-living units, such as units without life like Iron Men, Gargoyles, and Elementals. Of course, the Undead units of its own race are also immune to the Vampire's abilities.

However, it is effective against creatures immune to magic, and the health-draining ability is effective on Cursed Ground. Anti-magic artifacts and skills also have no effect on it.

Once the number of Vampire Kings increases, they can basically clear neutral camps without loss, sack cities without loss, and mindlessly slaughter their way forward.

This is just its performance in the game. If placed in reality, the Vampire King's special ability is theoretically not resurrection, but transforming the enemy into one of its own.

So, will other living units be transformed into their own kind by the Vampire King? After all, when the Vampire King is summoned into reality, it exists individually.

It is not a collective entity like in the game. If they exist individually, their health-draining transformation ability might undergo some changes. A single Vampire King actually has no combat effectiveness; only when their numbers increase do Vampire Kings become terrifying.

Never mind, he will experiment later once the Vampire King is produced to see exactly what its special abilities are.

Now that the Advanced Castle has been built, the production of all units is doubled. The Necropolis can produce 8 Vampires per week, which is thirty-two per month.

The construction requirements for the Advanced Necropolis are already met. The required resources are 2,000 units of gold, 5 units of wood, 10 units of gems, and 10 units of crystals.

Gold and wood are fine; Rhodes can gather them in just a few days. The only trouble is the gems and crystals; 10 units of each is extremely difficult to obtain.

The Lordaeron old king took several days just to gather three units. To collect 10 units of high-tier resources, he would probably have to seize half of Dalaran's entire collection.

Moreover, as the number of units increases, the gold produced by the Capitol is not enough to recruit all the weekly units. He still needs to find a way to increase his gold income.

Currently, hundreds of Skeletons and Walking Corpse have accumulated in the Necropolis and the evil shrine. There are also many Ghosts in the Mausoleum. Upgrading Ghosts to Wraiths must also be put on the agenda, as the upgraded unit can steal the enemy's mana, which is quite useful in Azeroth World.

Rhodes first recruited the 4 Vampires from the Necropolis. They are sinister-looking, bald monsters over 2 meters tall with two large fangs, and they can transform into bats.

Unlike its upgraded version, the Vampire King, the Vampire's clothing is quite ragged, completely lacking the Vampire King's splendor!

Resources, resources, he still needs resources! High-tier resources are insufficient, and the basic gold income is not very high either, at 4,000 units of gold per day.

That is 28,000 units of gold per week. Once Tier 7 units are produced, this amount will barely be enough just to recruit all the units in the city.

If only he could build an Artifact Shop. The Artifact Shop contains a series of artifacts called the Bag of Gold, Pouch of Gold, and Sack of Gold. These items can freely produce 500, 750, and 1,000 gold coins daily. The upgraded version, the Golden Goose, combined from the Horn of the Abyss, is even more terrifying, generating almost the income of more than half a Capitol.

He still needs to fight bosses and take down powerful Hero units!

Rhodes lay on the bed and began to think. He would be staying in Dalaran for a month and a half, waiting for Lordaeron to complete the modification of the magic ships and to gather citizens willing to travel west.

In Dalaran, Rhodes wanted to freeload some spells and also have Kael help upgrade the Emperor's weapon.

Are there any powerful bosses nearby that he can farm? It's not the '60s or '70s era now; there are no good dungeons nearby! But dungeons in reality are one-time events.

Wait a minute! A good dungeon. Rhodes suddenly sat up, a flash of inspiration crossing his mind.

There is a dungeon in Dalaran, and it is a very easy one to farm, called the Violet Hold. This was originally a dungeon opened during the level 80 era, Wrath of the Lich King.

However, it was reset in the 7.0 version, Legion. In the game, there are two Dalaran locations, one in Northrend and one in the Broken Isles, so although the two dungeons share the same location, they do not exist on the same timeline.

There are good things in the Violet Hold. It holds many Shadow Creatures or demons from other planes. Killing these guys can also yield large amounts of resources.

Rhodes immediately had an idea. To clear this dungeon, he has three Golden Man under him, plus Solmyr. He can also bring Jaina along and summon some Holy Light Elemental.

Holy Light Elemental have considerable lethality against demons of the Twisting Nether or Shadow Creatures.

Rhodes immediately sprang up from the bed, dressed, and rushed out towards Jaina's room.
