Chapter 33 - How Fucking Convenient.

" So why are we in a coffee shop? "

Maya looked around the open place with a curious look. Olivia sat beside her. It was a local coffee shop, filled with students, new like them or old, working quietly while enjoying their coffee.

" Max wanted to be here "

Olivia looked at Max, who was using his phone currently. He wanted to check the local lawyer firm to discuss about him buying a real estate. It was his main mission and also the best way to invest his money. Cash always goes down in value.

" I didn't want to be here, Finn wanted to be here "

Max locked his phone and answered. He finally found his answer. He needed to go to his bank first. They would suggest what to do. His account being a special one would also help him out in this.

" I thought Germans like to drink beer? You interested him? Did we miss something, are you guys… "

Maya, seeing Max was finally putting down his phone, asked with a bewildered face. She looked at Max with a shocked and curious expression.

" Oh no, no no, I am not gay. I was just being friendly "

Finn shook his head frantically when the whole table looked his way with a weird look. Max was shocked, then relieved when he heard Finn was not gay. It's not like he was against all that, but he didn't want to send mixed signals.

" You wanna grab a beer? "

Max looked at Maya, who was feeling bored in this environment. This was perfect for him, but looking her way, he could clearly see a 'This is so boring' look.

" Oh my god, yess!! "

" Let's do that. Let's grab some beers from the nearby store "

Max, nodding his head, stood up. He didn't want to drink coffee in the middle of the day either. He was not tired, nor did he feel sleepy. A chill beer would hit the spot with some chips or snacks.

" I never had a beer with a friend before "

Finn tapped on Max's shoulder with an excited look. He looked like he was doing some giant side quest. Max just smiled and shook his head.

" So? I had a few days ago. It's not a big deal "

Max, saying this, walked ahead with Maya, who was curious about everything. It was her first time in Germany, from Michigan. She was from a city called Detroit.

" Detroit? I thought you said Washington? "

" My family name is Washington, stupid Max "

" Ah! I am sorry. I am not used to American names "

" Relax, just pay for my beer, alright? "

" Sure "

Max instantly nodded his head. He didn't mind paying for a beer bottle. He was going to pay for the whole case anyway. Finn walked with Olivia, but Olivia's eyes never left Max, so he never got to talk with her, but that didn't dampen his mood at all.

" Here, we can buy from here "

Max pointed at the nearby store and walked towards it. Maya and Olivia followed from behind, while Finn walked beside him now. Max believed Finn was a good guy and trying his best to socialize. Not that he was a master socializer himself, but Finn was giving him a nice vibe.

" Augustiner, that's the best "

Olivia walked ahead and picked a huge case of beer. Max wanted to stop her but didn't. He didn't want to come out as a cheapskate, but twenty bottles of beer felt too much for him.

" Let me pay "

Finn walked ahead with Olivia enthusiastically to pay. Max suddenly felt weird. Someone else was paying? This was quite a unique experience. Then he looked Finn's way. Finn was wearing some nice clothes.

" What are you staring at? "

Maya stood beside Max and asked when she saw Max was staring at Finn, not her friend who was very pretty. She had a judgmental look in her eyes as she stared at Max.

" I was thinking if he's rich "

" Of course he is. Look at his boots. It's LV Boot Ranger, over 1,000€ "

Maya nodded her head. Max then looked at her. She was surprisingly super fashionable. Not anyone could wear white this stylishly. Her whole outfit looked perfect with her drip.

" Alright, let me buy some snacks then "

Max, shaking his head, picked four large-sized chips and went to the counter. Finn wanted to pay for it too, but Max gestured him to stop and pulled out his card. Seeing the card, Finn was taken aback a little. Even his father didn't have a card like this.

Olivia and Maya thought Finn was the son of a millionaire for certain, but Max was not far off. He was wearing nice clothing, which was not super branded like Finn's but looked good and suited him well.

Max, paying for the chips, tried to take the beer case, but Finn was just too excited with it. So he just walked out with them and followed Finn, who knew a good place to hang out.

They sat beside a small river. Finn, like everyone else on the riverbank, put the beer in the cold river to chill. Max thought this was actually a nice idea, and this place was not bad at all. Everywhere were young people.

" Ohhh!! This is niceeeee "

Finn, after taking the first sip, made a huge, satisfied sound. Then he grabbed a chips pack, opened it, and started eating. Max just slowly sipped his beer. It felt nice, seated beside a riverbank with newly formed friends.

Maya and Olivia clinked their bottles. They looked happy. Max was thinking about how to wrap this day before the bank closed for the day. He wanted to know more about how to buy a property.

" Finn and Max, what do your parents do? My mom is a dentist, don't have a dad. Maya's parents are both lawyers "

Olivia suddenly asked. She was really curious about these German boys, their new friends. They had lived in America all their lives, so knowing new friends was a healthy start.

" My dad runs a small dealership, Ducati München "

Finn replied. He was already a little tipsy, so he smiled broadly at Olivia, this time with no restraint on his emotions or eyes.

" How fucking convenient "

Max uttered under his breath as soon as he heard Finn's background. This was his side mission, to buy a nice motorbike, and Finn's family business being a motorbike shop was convenient.

" I am an orphan, grew up alone in an orphanage from young "

Seeing everyone was looking his way, Max told them about being from a small town called Regensburg, where he grew up alone. He had foster parents for a few years; they also passed away in a car accident.

" You're so pitiful "

Finn nodded his head and patted Max's shoulder. He had drunk three bottles of beer, while Max was just lightly sipping one. Olivia and Maya also looked shocked. If he was an orphan, where did his money come from? He was wearing better clothes than eighty percent of students on the beach.

" Relax, I sold a small business before moving to Munich, so yeah, there's that "

Max stood up and smiled, then slapped his butt to clean the debris. He stared at the sun directly. This was his explanation for the system-given money.

" Finn, how about you take me to your father's dealership tomorrow? I want to buy a bike "

" Eh? Sure!! "
