Tina hesitated for a heartbeat, her eyes flickering toward Daniel before she quickly composed herself, forcing a calm expression onto her face.
"Ahm… obviously I know him. He came to get medicine when Lady Gavana was here. Right…?" she said, tilting her head slightly toward Daniel.
"Right," Daniel replied, his expression neutral.
"Oh, I see." Marnie's smile returned as the explanation satisfied her. "Then, son, why don't you go to your room. I'll prepare something special for tonight."
Daniel's lips curved into a warm smile. He gave his mother a small nod before turning toward the house.

"Hoho… Marnie—"
A familiar voice drifted in from beyond the iron gate.
Daniel stopped.
Jessica's cheerful voice died in her throat the instant her eyes landed on him. Her smile froze. For a brief moment, she stood outside the gate, staring at Daniel as if she had seen a ghost.
Then, without saying another word, she pushed the iron gate open and stepped inside.
