The remaining bats that had been hiding behind the Golem were suddenly exposed. Lightning from the other shamans rained down upon them.
One after another, all the bats dissolved into black smoke.
Daniel lowered his hand. 'That's easy—'
Before he could finish his thought, the ground began to shake.
Daniel's eyes widened. The sand covering the fallen Golem suddenly began to move. The creature erupted from beneath the sand.
It had changed. Now, its body was no longer three times the students' size. It was now nearly twice as large.
Its missing leg had regenerated, while the remaining Sand Bats had also grown to nearly twice their previous size.
Daniel stared at the enormous creature.
"Uh oh."
Suddenly, dark clouds gathered above the monster. A flash of lightning illuminated the sky. Then—
*BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!*
A relentless rain of lightning crashed down around the Golem, tearing apart the surrounding sand and forcing the students to retreat.
