Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

Chapter 1

One Piece World, East Blue, Cocoyasi Village.

An orange-haired little girl named Nami was arguing with a blue-haired girl, Nojiko.

Nojiko: "I'm two years older than you, that's why you wear my hand-me-downs. If you were the older one, I'd wear yours without complaining."

Nami: "But I want new clothes too!"

Nojiko: "Mine are already second-hand! You're my little sister, so you get what's left."

Nami: "We're not even blood-related!"

At that moment, their foster mother Bermell walked in.

SMACK!

A loud slap sent Nami crashing to the floor.

Bermell (trembling with anger): "Nami, don't you ever say such stupid things again!"

Bermell had no idea that the soul inside Nami had just been swapped.

The newly-transmigrated Nami hadn't even opened her eyes to take in the world before eating a massive slap to the face. Before she could stop herself, the original script lines spilledily rolled off her tongue:

"Bermell isn't our real mother anyway, right? Wouldn't we be better off without each other?" "This way you could eat properly, buy the clothes you like, and be freer, right?" "I was picked up anyway… it would've been better if some rich family had taken me in."

She had no clue about the full context, but clearly the transmigration had gone off-script. The mood was perfectly set—shouldn't she dramatically yell "I'm leaving this family for good!" right about now? …Nah, too cringe. Forget it.

Nami bolted out the door. Better run before they figure out something's wrong with "her."

Just as she crossed the threshold, she glanced back—and the scene felt eerily familiar.

In the shrinking house behind her stood two figures watching her leave: A tiny girl with blue hair in overalls and a headband. A slender woman with deep red hair tied back, short side bangs, looking anything but villainous.

Wait… why do they look like the victims here? Am I the evil stepsister-type side character?

Then it hit her—her point of view was way too low!

She looked down at her tiny arms and legs, touched her orange hair ends… She had reincarnated as child Nami?!

Hold on, didn't that woman just call her "Nami"?

Which Nami exactly…?

A terrible premonition struck her.

DING!

[Ding! "Become a Pirate System" successfully bound!]

[Congratulations, Host, on your successful illegal immigration!]

System! Golden finger!

Nami grinned, clenching her tiny fists. Everything was under control now.

Usually system protagonists have it easy—no tragic backstories, no suffering in silence.

…Though the system's name was a little ominous.

She glanced around—no one was paying attention—then whispered: "System?"

[System: Present.]

A dazzling panel appeared in front of her eyes. Inside the light floated a mysterious, genderless silhouette surrounded by maxed-out special effects.

Nami: "Tone it down, you're too flashy!"

[System: Foolish Host, only you can see me.]

"Oh, good."

She ignored the mild insult. After all, she was just a weak, pitiful, helpless transmigrator.

"System, where am I? Who am I? What am I supposed to do?"

[System: Uh… out of the three ultimate questions, I can only answer one. You are in Cocoyasi Village.]

"Cocoyasi Village?!"

"East Blue's Cocoyasi Village from One Piece?!"

"I really turned into that Nami?!"

[System: Correct.]

"The female lead of One Piece?!"

[System: Obviously.]

"I picked a lie-flat win-life script! It was supposed to be safe! Why did I become the Nami who gets taken advantage of left and right?!"

She complained that the afterlife customer service was pure false advertising.

[System: Calm down, Host. With me here, you'll eventually stand above all worlds. Going back to beat up the King of Hell will be trivial.]

"!!!"

Not that she actually wanted to fight Yama, she just wanted enough power to live safely and comfortably in this Great Pirate Era.

Going home? She had no attachments there anyway—no rush.

Wait.

Safe? Comfortable? Survive?

She suddenly froze.

She had definitely seen the scene back in the house in the original manga/anime.

Not long after Nami ran away from home… the Arlong Pirates invaded the village!

Arlong, the fish-man with a 20 million berry bounty!

In the Grand Line he was small fry, but in the East Blue he was an absolute final boss—the same evil fish-man later thrown into Impel Down.

After his former Sun Pirates captain Jinbe became a Warlord and he was released, he came back and terrorized dozens of villages in the East Blue, using Cocoyasi Village as the center of his "Arlong Empire."

Monthly tribute: 100,000 berries per adult, 50,000 per child.

He murdered Nami's foster mother Bermell in cold blood, noticed Nami's cartography talent, and forced her to draw charts for him.

He even bribed Navy Captain Nezumi to cover everything up.

Oh my god!!!

The Arlong Pirates are coming—today afternoon or tomorrow?!

She looked again at her tiny arms and legs. Zero combat ability.

Wait!

I have a system!

[System: Shout "System above all!" out loud to open your status panel.]

It helpfully offered.

…Do I really have to yell that? Can't I just think it or whisper?

Cocoyasi Village wasn't densely populated, but there were still people walking around.

Shouting weird stuff in public would make her look insane!

[System: No ♥]

The system ruthlessly refused, then sweetly tempted her:

[Open the panel → claim newbie gift pack → gain tremendous power → survive the crisis.]

Newbie gift pack? Tremendous power? Survive the crisis?

Nami's ears caught every keyword.

A few villagers chatting nearby suddenly saw the orange-haired little girl throw her head back and roar at the sky:

"SYSTEM ABOVE ALL!!!!!!!!"

[System: …You don't have to scream that loud. Too dramatic.]

————

[Host: Nami]

[Race: Human]

[Age: 10]

[Physique: F-]

[Combat Power: F-]

[Evaluation: With thorough preparation, capable of outsmarting the old hen at the village entrance. Actually defeating it despite being weaker—truly a remarkable young girl.]

Nami: ...

Outsmarting a hen still requires "thorough preparation"?

Does this system have some misunderstanding about the word "remarkable"? It's definitely mocking me.

"How are physique and combat power ranked?"

[System: Example: Average Yonko combat power is around SS. Combat power is calculated from physique, Haki, Devil Fruit abilities, etc., using a special algorithm. It rises quickly early on, but gets exponentially harder later.]

"That's too far off. First, tell me about the newbie gift!"

Invincible swordsmanship? Top-tier Devil Fruit? Advanced Haki?

Any one would do. Give her the power to beat Arlong, prevent the tragedy, and at least save Bermell's life.

After all, she had taken over Nami's body—she owed the original owner that much.

[Congratulations, Host!]

"It's coming, it's coming!" Nami's eyes sparkled.

[A supreme ability rivaling golden legends across all realms—]
