Watching Huntr/x perform, I saw how happy Rumi looked. She and I have had a distant sibling relationship, but we stay in contact. She knows that if something happens, I am there when she calls. Rumi is my little sister, and we aren't on the same page with the patterns on our skin. She hides them because Celine tells her the golden honmoon will make them go away. I show my patterns on stage, and wear baggy clothes to hide my build in public. I'm Rumi's older brother by five years. instead of K-pop like my sister, my concerts are metal and rap. Celine was pissed about it, but I didn't care. I left before she could say anything. Rumi and her group are going to publish their new song, "Golden," soon. She mentioned it the other day on one of our calls. Tonight, I was preparing for my concert, not a new song, but a compilation of my biggest hits. Mid-performance, my voice cracked.
"Huh?" My managers, Kiyo and Neku, said in union. I cleared my throat.
"Let's try that again," I said, getting into place to start again. I started again, trying the first hit, and before the second chorus, my voice cut off with a harsh choke. "What the fuck?"
"Akuma? You okay?" Neku asked, I was about to say something when something warm trailed down my arm, I looked around my arm, one of my patterns was cut and bleeding, a gold outline of the cut.
"shit," I said, looking at the cut. The honmoon doesn't recognize the half-demon half. Rumi doesn't know.
"You're bleeding!" Kiyo panicked.
"Cancel the show, tell the fans there was an accident backstage," I told both managers before I ran off. Rumi's probably performing tonight too. She has to know! Rumi has hidden her demon patterns for years; it won't physically harm her yet, but like me, she'll lose her singing for now. the voices in my head are telling me to stay. If I stop running now, my sister's voice will be gone anyway. using my powers, I teleported across the rooftops, then I saw Rumi running in the street. damn it, the honmoon affected her voice too.
