The Untainted
Finding comfort in the corner of her room. Lying on the praying mat after her salat. She felt lost but still kept walking. Energy drained but what can she do than to keep pushing and moving forward. In a family where you are taught that marrying a rich man is the only way to go! Where females are like a brand to make money? How can she cope than study hard, earning a scholarship to study in the higher institute.
And that was how she met the other two friends, Rayyan and Rihannat. They are all scholarship students radiating brilliance but they all are also struggling to stand firm, not looked down upon and respected in a place, a school, behind the four walls where status and money speaks before presence. The major reason why she considers Khalid then.
She loves her two friends but Basit actions this days has loosen a knot in her. After what happened to her the last time, she'd closed off to all males. Just like her other two, no male friends. And it's been nine months now since she joined them . The same month that the unfortunate happened to her. Something she told no one about it. Not even her parents. Rayyan and Rihannat met and became friends during their first year exam. It was in the library they met.
While she saw the two at the masjid where she always sits after class, reading Quran or chanting adhkar. They became close gradually, praying together, reciting the Quran together in the mosque after salat.
She stands from the mat, walk to the bed and lie on it wrapping herself up to the chin. Rihannat ... she mutters softly.
I love you and Rayyan..... but why do you have it all while I have nothing? Parents support, selfless love and care. They are old but they still provide for you....while I was asking Khalid for money then, your parents were providing for you. They don't tell you to sell yourself if necessary. And now a man of every ladies wishes and desire is after you again. Something I dare not think about or want.
"I don't know what to do anymore because anytime I see him I can't control myself." He is like the kind of man I want, but what do I do when he only sees you? Only has eye for you! She mumbles to herself sadly.
I think I need to do this! Let's see how far he can go! She got up, takes her phone and send a group message. It's time to try.

The living room was crowded the next day. Full of Rihannat friends from school. It was an unexpected visits for her parents. Even though she had told them her friends were coming. They couldn't believe the numbers of people that came that afternoon, including basit, his sister that tag along and his sworn brother Ridwan.
Even Rihannat was surprised!
Everyone was laughing and chatting happily not minding the little space and environment!
Even when most of them are rich, only Rihannat friends are on her level. The other people there are rich kids from their school!
How can this happen?
How can Rihannat manage to have click and get accepted by this circle of friends?
Just how did you do it Rihannat? Balkis was shocked..., laughing at herself inside for her stupid imagination. It was totally different....., the otherwise of what she planned! She felt stupid!
Rihannat looked around the room, watching the people laughing and joking as if they were long time friends with her and her two friends.
Even though some males came, the children of those who bought her work at the party and those who told her to accept their kids as friends at folakemi's house the other day, she was still shocked when she saw them at her door that particular morning!
Who call them all and who convinced them to come to her house? Is it really easy to make friends with them like she's seeing it, to the extent of visiting her house casually like this?!
Rayyan looked at Rihannat, knowing what she is thinking with the look on her face. She coughed and turn to Basit; Basit, how come you are here with all these people? Did Rihannat invite you? She pulled his leg,not wanting to embarrass him or ask as if he is unwelcome.
"Well balkis called me yesterday saying their is get together here, so I message our group chat where we pass information faster and here we are." Ridwan answered, other nodding.
"Balkis I thought you told me you and Rayyan are the only one coming today?" Rihannat asked flabbergasted.
"Well I thought the more the merrier. " She replied.
Rayyan eyed her and shake her head at the foolish game she's trying to play.
Ridwan pinched basit and whispered him "why don't you tell the truth that you called the others to avoid your parents knowing where yourself heart lies now".
Will you shut your mouth or I should zip it for you? Basit said making faridat sitting next to him chuckles.
"My mom will come by tomorrow if she knows the truth Ridwan, mum and dad are already suspicious. So let my brother rest if you don't want his beautiful lady to run away o." Faridat added in a low voice.
The three exchanged amused smiles, unaware that someone was quietly eavesdropping on their conversation.
Who could it be? Balkis wondered, her curiosity piqued.
Eyes darted across the room. A faint giggle, a shadow behind a curtain, a pair of eyes watching intently…
Ah, the game had just begun
