Chapter 8 - Puta.

Daisy led César without any questions, she was actually in a hurry almost running and just pulling César after her who was lost once again in his thoughts but more important had questions.

System is it a Trial too or Hidden Event, are you fucking with me because it's too good to be true.

To him it all seemed like one though, it was all just too fast too sudden like out of nowhere a random child kickstarted his journey to the top it seemed like a fucking dream or more so an event that the System itself prepared for him.

[System: There is not a single event initiated.]

So I was at the right time at the right moment… huh what a coincidence is this… and I was ready to go to the mayor.

The master plan he had in his mind was… well, it could have worked. The plan was simple: go to the mayor and somehow bribe him. If he didn't listen, then beat the shit out of him and threaten him. If that didn't work either, then slowly start killing people around him, tighten the knot, and in the end he would finally bend to César's will. Though it could have gone terribly wrong too, as there was nothing backing him, like no influence nor power, and that whole plan was basically a gamble and nothing more.

If the mayor had bent easily, then it would have been the best start. But if he hadn't, he would have become a hunted figure, with everyone turning against him, because the Capital Mayor is a position backed by the government and far more powerful than any other city mayors.

In short, the mayor of the capital is the one with the key to the drug trading and production, and the second person after him is no other than the police chief himself.

Though there was a question about it.

Why would he work with fucking gangs? They are nobodies, kids shooting at each other… Why not tap in with the cartel or the mafia? César couldn't find an answer to it as he didn't even know what gangs are about in Sandria, because he never cared about them.

One thing he did is fucking kill them, massacre them if they spit into his business, but never went after them to see how they deal or what they deal. The only thing he for sure knew is that they have no power. Maybe they oversee a street or a block, but once the feds or the cartel pull up, they run like fucking bitches for their life, leaving behind everything they had made or what they gangbanged for… yeah, when their moment comes, they don't throw up gang signs but run like bunnies from the hunter.

"Hey Daisy." César kinda slowed her down from running to a simple walk, though she truly wanted to be there as fast as possible. "Where are we going exactly, and why does your mother say the chief is with the bad people?"

"I don't know!" She shouted as she again just pulled César's hand to go faster and faster into something, maybe dangerous, but he could do nothing as she was just a child so in the end they talked nothing, just ran and ran until she stopped.

Stopped and didn't say a single word, just pointed to the road up ahead and looked up to César's eyes. "We are here." she said, and César immediately understood that their situation was fucked.

They were deep… deep into the hood.

Sandria was inspired by Mexico, Colombia, the favelas in Rio, the families of Italy but they bought elements from the United States too, and with that the well known hoods ruled by gangs. Though it never took a big part of the game… it was basically just a part of the city where a player could advance as the gangs were not very tactical… literally every player mowed them down, earning Special Cards and experience points.

The houses and apartments were all run-down, the street full of trash and people just standing out drinking and looking around.

American dream huh… He thought, but it wasn't that scary, he was tortured and so on, but what was scary is thinking that she is living here.

"Uhm, why are you living here with your mama? Isn't she a judge?" He asked as he looked down at her.

Why would a top judge who sends gang members to death row live surrounded by gangs?

"The city is expensive, and my mother has debts." she said with her voice low, and César could understand it, as truly the city and the better neighborhoods are indeed expensive, but still it was too strange.

But what was more strange was that it was still daytime, though he knew well that if the gang is work with the chief the cops don't give a single fuck about them, what they do or not.

"Where is your house at then?"

"That one." Daisy pointed again to the middle where there was a white house, the only one that wasn't run down… and well, three cars parked in front of it as well as two men standing outside looking around.

I can't just run up to them… if I kill those two, then the other goons come. He thought but as looked to the side there was his key to the problem. Huh, that can work pretty well.

"Hey Daisy, before I help your mother, let's go in there and shop for some clothes." He said as he pointed to the right side where there was a shop with clothes, food, and so on.

"Shopping?" She asked back as her concern was more like his mother buying anything.

"Yeah, come on." César said again as he pulled her into the shop.

It was pretty… not like a hood store. The only thing that reminded them was the bulletproof windows, which the shop owner was behind.

"Pick some clean clothes, there is the child section. I buy whatever you choose." César said as he immediately caught his eye on the thing he wanted.

A purple velvet shirt and not just that, next to it lay the white cargo pants, and on the floor the shiny black loafers. The perfect outfit to look exactly the way he needed to. And when he put them all on… he was truly on point, especially after unbuttoning the top a little and folding up the shirt sleeves.

"I nailed it…" He whispered with a smile as he looked into the mirror.

"I'm done." Daisy's voice came behind his back, and when he turned around she wasn't in a dress, a skirt, or a girly thing… no, she was in the same clothes… with a hammer in her hand.

"Uhm, why do you need that?"

"To help." She said with power and certainty behind her voice, which a bit stunned César… like seeing her with a hammer with those piercing eyes, she was a danger on her own but not to gangs with guns.

"You don't come with me, okay? I will save your mama and come back to pick you up."

"But–"

"Daisy, if you're there I not only need to look out for your mama but for you and for myself. Just stay here, okay, and be a good girl." César finished as he pulled out a stack of money from his pocket. "Here is five hundred dollars, buy candies, clothes, toys, or whatever you need, but stay in here and if a bad guy comes in just hide. Understood?"

She was upset, but she understood the gravity of the situation, so she just nodded. Still, she couldn't help getting curious, he had pulled out a stack of money, had a gun, and was willing to help… a man in dirty clothes, yet carrying all that.

"Good, now spend the money." César finished leaving her behind and went up to the counter to the shop owner who was looking… looking when he gave the money, which meant he already made up something in his head.

So he needed to do something and that something was to knock on the window with the gun he had on him… and he did, especially since it looked more like a nine-millimeter than a .22."

"I hope you thought about nothing bad." César said as he eyed him.

"Ohh… I did think about it, and second…" The shop owner leaned close. "It's a bulletproof window, you puta."

"Puta? Huh, you fuck.."

Daisy didn't understand what was happening neither understood what César was speaking because it was in Sandrian, but one thing she knew is that César did something with his words because the shop owner's face turned to somebody who was already dead.

His eyes were wide, his mouth half opened and most importantly didn't even look into the eyes of César… César who on the other hand was smiling while saying whatever he said.

"Understood, puta?"

"Y-yeah…"

"Good. Now keep your eye on her." César finished and with a last look at Daisy, he finally stepped out of the shop with his new outfit that screamed one thing.

That he is… cartel.
