Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Construction Begins

Holding the tablet, Cinder observed the entire interface.

Besides funds and Blueprint Energy,

there were four construction modules at the bottom.

These four construction modules were: Functional Buildings, Defensive Buildings, Soldiers, and Vehicles.

Clicking on the four modules, only the Functional Buildings module currently had unlocked blueprints.

He tried clicking on it.

Building: Magnetic Reactor

Blueprint Unlock Price: 600

Construction Price: 600

Power Output: 150

Armor: Wood

Durability: 750

Description: A Soviet Army characteristic power plant. Don't expect a power plant to attack people on its own, oh~

Unlike the game where buildings could be constructed as soon as the base was deployed,

buildings in the Red Alert system all required Blueprint Energy to unlock.

The unlock price and construction price were the same.

"A power plant is the foundation of all industry; it must be built."

Cinder didn't hesitate and spent 600 energy directly to unlock it.

[Blueprint Energy: 2000 → 1400]

On the screen, the blueprint was parsed, and the building icon became selectable.

He clicked build.

Funds were deducted.

[Funds: 7000 → 6600]

As soon as Cinder clicked to purchase, the entire base's production factory began to operate.

Huge claws started to transport the items needed for construction.

On the tablet, the power plant entered a 3-minute countdown.

"Is building a power plant that fast?"

After 3 minutes passed, Sophia reminded Cinder: "Commander, news just came from the factory that the power plant has been completed."

The command center's screen shifted, and a wooden box, about ten meters high, on a giant track awaited Cinder's placement.

At this moment, the wartime command table in front of Cinder suddenly glowed with a faint blue light.

A three-dimensional map appeared before Cinder.

Sliding left and right, Cinder could see the full view of the base.

He could also see two Grizzly Tanks and those Soldiers next to the base.

The size of the Soldier buildings conformed to reality, not game graphics.

"Commander, please select the construction location."

On the right side of the map, the power plant icon was flashing, seemingly reminding Cinder to deploy the power plant.

Dragging the power plant from the list, the 3D view automatically transformed into an overhead view, exactly like in the game. Cinder dragged a three-by-two green square to select a site next to the base.

The restrictions on construction location were different from the game.

In the game, buildings could not be built far from friendly structures.

But here, there seemed to be no such restriction; the only limitations were terrain and whether other units occupied that area.

"This is not a game, but a building that will genuinely appear in reality. Given that, the practical implications must be considered."

The power plant is the foundation of all equipment. If they encounter an enemy later and the power plant is cut off, many of their devices and buildings will shut down.

Therefore, the first construction requirement for the power station is safety, and it cannot be placed together with the base.

Otherwise, if others cut off both the power plant and the base, wouldn't that make them pure suckers?

Cinder made a virtual Grasp gesture on the map with his left hand, and the overhead view zoomed out.

Now Cinder could see buildings further away.

Dadupa Valley is a terrain of mountains combined with valleys. From an overhead perspective, it looks like a fidget spinner.

There are three large Hilichurl tribes here, with each tribe having over 2000 Hilichurl.

The current location of the base is at the intersection of the three Hilichurl tribes, where there is a large plain area. All around are towering cliffs and precipices.

"In a place like this, it would be best to build the power plant among the three Hilichurl tribes and then heavily guard it."

The idea was good, but currently, it was still quite difficult to implement.

Even if two Grizzly Tanks were strong, they couldn't withstand the attacks of five or six Mitachurl.

These big guys were capable of overturning tanks with their bare hands.

"The current task is to first clear out all the Hilichurl in the entire Dadupa Valley, and then transform the entire Dadupa Valley into a military base."

After some thought, Cinder built the power plant 500 meters north of the headquarters.

Once selected, a transport vehicle departed from the headquarters on the screen, carrying the large wooden box containing the power plant towards its destination.

The Conscripts at the base joined the escort mission without Cinder's command.

Upon arrival, the wooden box automatically unfolded.

Just like when the base unfolded earlier, in just two seconds, the Soviet Army's Magnetic Reactor was laid out, and even the accompanying circuits were assembled.

From a distance, a giant electromagnetic sphere emitted dazzling light in the night.

Cinder turned his gaze to the tablet, and new unlockable buildings appeared in the building tab.

Building: barracks (Soviet Army)

Blueprint Unlock Price: 500

Construction Price: 500

Power Consumption: 10

Armor: Steel

Durability: 500

Capacity: 10,000 people

Description: A characteristic Soviet Army military camp, capable of training new recruits, building ammunition and weapons, and equipped with Soldier dormitories. It seems like a statue was converted into a barracks, right?

Building: ore refinery (Soviet Army)

Blueprint Unlock Price: 2000

Construction Price: 2000

Power Consumption: 50

Armor: Steel

Durability: 1000

Description: A Soviet Army characteristic refinery. Build it and get an armored mining vehicle! The 20mm heavy machine gun goes da da~

And in the defensive structures tab, new unlockable blueprints appeared.

Building: Battle Bunker

Blueprint Unlock Price: 500

Construction Price: 500

Power Consumption: 0

Armor: Steel

Durability: 600

Capacity: 5 people

Description: A defensive structure that allows Soldiers to garrison. Bunkers can provide characteristic garrison weapons, oh~

Cinder was familiar with the Battle Bunker; it replaced buildings in urban maps in the Red Alert game.

It could protect Soldiers while providing super strong firepower.

The construction price was acceptable.

Cinder didn't overthink it and directly unlocked and built the barracks.

The ore refinery was certainly appealing, but he didn't have enough Blueprint Energy to unlock it right now.

[Blueprint Energy: 1400 → 900]

[Funds: 6600 → 6100]

Just like the power plant, the barracks was quickly completed.

He set the barracks 300 meters south of the base.

The entire barracks covered an area of nearly 4000 square meters.

As soon as the barracks was built, 7 new buildable units appeared on Cinder's tablet.

Looking at them, they were divided into three defensive buildings and four unit types.

The defensive buildings were: Anti-Aircraft Gun, sentry turret, and Walls, requiring Blueprint Energy and funds of 1000, 500, and 100 respectively.

The unit types were: Conscript, Police Dog, Engineer, and Tesla Trooper, requiring Blueprint Energy and funds of 100, 200, 500, and 500 respectively.

Looking at these blueprints, Cinder was incredibly tempted, but alas, his Blueprint Energy was only a meager 900 points.

Unlocking them all was practically impossible.

Currently, the only known way to obtain Blueprint Energy was by picking up crates.

He checked the time, and there were only 30 minutes left until the next crate refresh.

Cinder didn't say another word and immediately unlocked the Conscript and Police Dog construction blueprints.

To pick up crates, he definitely needed to send those who could run fast.
