Chapter 10 - Changes

"Thanks for the dinner, next time I'll come with a gift." Jackson stood in front of the Díaz family's door and thanked them for their hospitality.

Unexpectedly, this Latino family was too kind, and for a moment Jackson felt like he was in a family. The feeling was ambiguous, but he definitely knew he was with noble and trustworthy people.

When he left, he didn't forget to offer his jacket to Miguel as a gift, since it was new and he didn't want him to feel bad for having used it.

"Poor boy, do you know if he has family?" Carmen looked at her son Miguel and asked.

"Mom!" Miguel looked at his mother, hinting that this question was too personal.

Carmen understood this and said, "If he ever trusts you enough to tell you that, then you can believe you've made a true friend."

"I understand, Mom." Miguel smiled as he looked at the incredible jacket Jackson had given him. Without a doubt, he had never received such an expensive gift, and when he saw the price online, he didn't know if it had really been a good idea to accept this jacket.

Jackson at this moment was on his way home with a slight smile on his face. "I guess this is what it feels like to belong somewhere without needing to prove anything, sounds good."

If you share your life with someone, no matter how big or small the moment, Jackson was completely sure that that person will keep you in mind for any detail, no matter its size.

Only now he felt that it was good, that he should open up to other people, even his gym friends, who had only known one part of his personality.

Having days to spare to adapt to the lifestyle here, Jackson thought about many things he could experience. "Well, I hope I don't ruin it."

When he arrived home it was nighttime, he felt comfortable and wanted to release his energy by training.

Bang!

In a huge gym, Jackson moved from one side to the other while hitting a sandbag.

His knuckles struck precisely at different points on the bag that simulated a human body.

Speed, pressure, strength and agility, Jackson had trained every part in which he could be behind ordinary people, and so far there was no one who had ever beaten him in a fight.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Jackson, who was increasing his speed, stopped when he heard his doorbell ringing repeatedly.

"Who could it be at this hour?" Jackson wiped off his sweat, grabbed a self-defense weapon and walked toward the door.

Until now he hadn't found his wallet, he hadn't gone back to the store and he also hadn't gone to visit Tory in case he had accidentally left it in her bags, although he feared that might offend her somehow.

When he opened the door, he unexpectedly found Daniel, who said, "What a surprise, I thought you'd be asleep."

"Mr. LaRusso, did something happen?" Jackson lowered his gaze and found a tray in Daniel's hands, which he then handed over to him.

Daniel, who had brought Jackson something for dinner, said, "My wife made a delicious meatloaf, I don't know if you like it, but you should eat it if you haven't had dinner yet."

Jackson was surprised, but then assumed that Daniel felt somewhat worried about him or simply felt pity. "Thank you, you shouldn't have bothered."

Even so, Jackson thanked him for this gesture that no one had ever made for him before.

Daniel waved his hand and with a carefree expression said, "It's no trouble. By the way, were you working out?"

"Oh? A little, I tend to train a lot to keep my body in good shape. They say this is the easiest way to get a girlfriend nowadays." Jackson joked as he pointed at his muscles.

"Ha, ha, ha, the methods to win over a girl are different now than in my days. But I won't keep bothering you, eat it and then return the tray with the food or my wife will kill me." Daniel said goodbye after saying this and Jackson stayed looking at the tray of hot food in his hand.

Unexpectedly, there were many more good people here.

"This smells good…"
