After getting a decent amount of money, Niven decided to quit his part-time job. On top of that, he splurged on things just for his own enjoyment—buying a motorcycle, a gaming console—and now he was thoroughly enjoying his father's legacy while being lazy, without actually inheriting his father's inventions.
"Just a few pieces of lab equipment are already making my life this luxurious… imagine if I sold an entire lab room full of apparatus, I'd probably have bought a house by now, hahaha." He said this while drinking soda and playing games all day in his dorm.
Lucia, Niven's classmate and friend, knocked on his door. She wanted to remind him to start attending classes again after skipping several days.
"Hey Niven, you in there?"
Curious, Niven went to check and opened the door when he saw it was Lucia.
"What's up, coming all this way?" he asked.
Lucia replied firmly,
"Huh? Isn't it obvious? I'm here to make sure you stop skipping class. Do you want to have to retake the class?"
Blushing, she muttered quietly,
"I even bring lunch for you, but you keep skipping…"
Niven didn't hear her and replied casually,
"Alright, alright… I'll start going tomorrow," he said, though Lucia could tell he wasn't completely serious.
Niven suddenly shut the door, completely ignoring Lucia standing outside. Meanwhile, Lucia blushed, embarrassed at what she had just said—even if Niven hadn't actually heard it. She sighed softly, shaking her head at her own boldness.
