The figure smiled strangely.
Figure: "Hee... hee... hee..."
Jikki stood her ground, ready to fight.
Jikki: "What the hell is this form?"
The figure suddenly charged toward her.
Jikki drew her sword and tried to dodge.
But the attack's range was enormous.
The force sent her flying across the city.
She quickly dragged her sword along the side of a building, using it to slow her momentum before landing.
She looked back.
The figure was heading toward the city.
Jikki's expression changed.
She finally understood.
I can't defeat that thing.
So what did she do?
She ran.
She had no intention of letting pride get her killed.
Jikki: "Did I pick the wrong person to become my slave?"
She kept running.
Jikki: "I'm not here to die. I want to succeed... I want to prove my worth to the Sand Emperor."
Suddenly, one of the civilians shouted:
Civilian: "Call the Sand Horn!"
Another person looked at him in shock.
Person: "Are you sure?! You have to pay an enormous price for that!"
Civilian: "I don't care!"
"It's better than certain death!"
The figure continued rampaging through the city.
People fled in every direction as buildings were destroyed around them.
One civilian looked around anxiously.
Civilian: "Thankfully, no one has died yet..."
"But that's only a matter of seconds."
He stared at the figure.
Civilian: "Why isn't it killing anyone?"
His expression became serious.
Civilian: "It has another objective."
"It's searching for something."
Suddenly, the red markings on the figure's body began spreading.
A powerful presence filled the city.
Everyone felt it.
Then the figure stopped.
Its energy suddenly gathered in front of it.
A massive attack began forming, resembling a cannon.
The civilian's expression turned pale.
Civilian: "There's no time to call them through the Sand Horn!"
"We're finished!"
"I thought it wasn't going to kill anyone..."
Civilian: "What the hell is this monster?!"
The cannon-like attack was fired toward the civilian.
Before it could reach him—
CLANG!
A figure appeared.
With a single swing of his sword, he deflected the attack as though it were nothing.
The civilian stared at him in disbelief.
Then his expression changed.
Civilian: "Why are you here, Jack?"
