Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Nothing More Than a Bit of Wind and Frost

Black hair, thin, almost appearing malnourished.

"He doesn't look like the Hidden Cloud ninja described in rumors at all," Shizune thought to herself.

As far as she knew, the Cloud ninja were generally robust, with arms thicker than a person's thigh.

And they always came with the standard 'sausage lips.'

"Will he look like that when he grows up?"

Shizune looked closely and noticed that Kiyoshi's lips were very normal, even thin.

"Flashlight."

Tsunade spoke.

"Ah... yes."

Shizune quickly snapped back, pulling a tool from her ninja pouch and handing it to Tsunade.

She looked up and saw that the Uchiha she had been staring at had given her a smile.

Shizune's heart skipped a beat, and she quickly lowered her head.

She realized that the subject of her scrutiny, Kiyoshi, had caught her staring, which was a very impolite thing to do.

"You're an unusually cheerful Uchiha."

Tsunade raised an eyebrow.

Should she say it was typical of someone found outside the village?

He was completely different from the group of arrogant Uchiha in the village.

To be honest, if the old man hadn't forced her to come and check because the impact was getting too big, she—who suffered from hematophobia—would never have come.

"Because your eyes, Lady Tsunade, are very beautiful, like they have stars in them."

Kiyoshi spoke.

"Oh?"

Tsunade slightly clenched her hand.

If this Uchiha couldn't give her a satisfactory explanation, she would definitely give the guy a hard punch to let him know that not everyone could be joked with.

"When Lady Tsunade was examining me, I deeply felt the sense of responsibility in your eyes. You are of noble status, and I am merely an ordinary Uchiha."

Kiyoshi paused, and continued:

"I have read many storybooks, and Lady Tsunade must be the famous doctor in those books who saves people's lives."

"Tsunade is one of the Three Sannin and the Hidden Leaf Village's greatest medical ninja, so of course she's a famous doctor."

Mikoto, who had been waiting not far away, let out a chuckle.

She thought Kiyoshi was just a typical boy, still truly innocent.

Hearing this answer, Tsunade unclenched her hand.

So he was praising her medical ninjutsu.

This little guy was quite articulate.

"If I could learn this kind of medical ninjutsu, I could also help others like this. I really wish I could be like Lady Tsunade."

Kiyoshi said.

"Medical ninjas require Yang Release chakra. If you don't have it, you can't be a medical ninja."

Tsunade finished speaking and stood up.

She told Mikoto that she would go through her research materials to understand Kiyoshi's condition.

Then she would have another excellent medical ninja, Nonō Yakushi, come and check the situation.

Shizune immediately followed Tsunade out.

"Kiyoshi, you should rest well now. We will arrange your enrollment in the academy soon."

Mikoto quickly left as well.

The room, which had been relatively lively, was now left with only Kiyoshi.

"Right, I'm not Naruto Uzumaki, with destiny on his side."

Kiyoshi shook his head.

Naruto could even convince Tsunade, who had been away for years, to return and take on the responsibility of the Hokage.

Tsunade's rejection was within Kiyoshi's expectations.

If Tsunade had been interested, she would have naturally offered to check his chakra nature, and with her abilities, she would have easily known the result.

Unfortunately, Tsunade did not.

His identity was, after all, Uchiha.

Life rarely goes as one wishes.

Kiyoshi did not feel discouraged by this. He thought of Nonō Yakushi.

Tsunade said Nonō Yakushi would come next time.

If played correctly, Kiyoshi could connect with her and learn medical ninjutsu.

The Uchiha clan lacked advanced medical ninjas.

This was because every Uchiha, once they graduated from the Ninja Academy, was directed towards the Hidden Leaf Military Police Force.

They only learned some superficial medical ninjutsu at the Ninja Academy.

Since they served as security guards during peacetime and front-line fighters during wartime, few Uchiha members went on to pursue advanced medical studies.

Madara Uchiha's medical ninjutsu might actually be the best among the Uchiha clan, considering he could perform an immediate eye transplant at any time.

The reason Kiyoshi was so focused on medical ninjutsu was because this was a glass cannon world.

Sasuke's six-tomoe Rinnegan could be blinded by a simple kunai. If immediate emergency medical treatment was available, he might have been saved.

In the cruel wars of the future, who could guarantee they wouldn't lose an arm or a leg when injured?

Prosthetic limbs made with Hashirama's cells are not available to everyone.

Moreover, Kiyoshi had at least learned some rudimentary chakra refinement methods, and he had spent most of his meager savings asking ninjas to check his chakra nature.

The result was that he possessed the Yang Release nature.

Not everyone possesses the Yang Release nature. For example, Sasuke's databook did not list Yang Release, and Naruto's did not list Yin Release.

While chakra nature transformation can be mastered through training, it ultimately takes a substantial amount of extra time.

This is usually measured in years.

A ninja who naturally inherits the Yang Release nature would find it easier to master the corresponding ninjutsu than a ninja who does not.

Thinking of this, Kiyoshi also got up from the tatami mat.

Unconsciously, he had walked to the window, so he casually pushed it open.

The continuous drizzle beat against the trees in the front courtyard, and the leaves made a rustling sound.

A bleak autumn wind blew into the room.

Rainy days always bring a sense of coldness.

Kiyoshi suddenly smiled:

"It's nothing more than a bit of wind and frost."

He already had a strategy for how to attract Nonō Yakushi.

Nonō Yakushi would become the director of the orphanage in the future, and for the sake of those children, she would even rejoin Root after having already left.

In this vast world, people's preferences are strange and varied.

Some people crave power until old age, while others regard power as dirt and only desire eternal life.

And Nonō Yakushi's preference is for... children.

The next day.

At the Ninja Academy.

"This is our new student, Kiyoshi Uchiha."

The Chunin instructor asked Kiyoshi to write his name on the blackboard.

Kiyoshi picked up a piece of white chalk and wrote his name.

He glanced down and saw many familiar faces: Obito, Kakashi, Rin, Genma Shiranui...

"Your handwriting is very beautiful."

Rin Nohara praised him.

"Hey, Rin, that guy is rumored to be from the Land of Lightning."

Obito whispered to Rin.

'The Land of Lightning is full of brutes. Rin, you must not be deceived by appearances,' Obito thought inwardly.

"Please guide me."

Kiyoshi showed a gentle smile and was arranged by the Chunin instructor to sit in the back row by the window.

"Alright, everyone, let's begin the lesson."

The instructor coughed and started teaching.

Recently, the public opinion about the Uchiha clan in the village was not very good, but the instructors liked Uchiha students quite a bit.

The reason was simple: they were easy to teach.

Normally, an entrance test would be required, testing the most basic genjutsu and ninjutsu. Of course, it was really just a simple test of chakra volume and the ability to control chakra within the body.

As long as they met the standard, they would pass.

Kiyoshi was an Uchiha who transferred in, and even as a transfer student, he could keep up with the progress.

Ninja clans always provide extra private instruction to their members.

Soon, it was time for the class break.

"I heard that you are from the Land of Lightning, Kiyoshi?"

Kiyoshi's seat was near Rin Nohara's, and she walked over to ask.

"That's right."

"Are you keeping up with what's being taught here? You transferred in, right?"

Rin Nohara asked curiously.

Before graduating from the Ninja Academy, receiving the 'Ninja Headband' proving they are a ninja, and becoming a Genin, students are not allowed to leave the village.

Ninjas need a pass to enter and exit the village, though some special ninjas are exempt.

"That... I will work hard."

Kiyoshi closed his book, picked up another one to read, and slightly raised his eyes:

"Rin Nohara, could you teach me the Hidden Leaf Village's ninjutsu?"
