Chapter 244: Sage Art! Lightning Release! Roar of Thunder!
Amemiya Kenichi knew he was a contradictory person.
On one hand, for the sake of experiments, he could tie an ordinary person to his operating table without hesitation. On the other, facing Koyuki's tears, he did not mind helping her take revenge.
Doto would probably be willing to spend money to save his own life, but Kenichi found the idea of cooperating with that kind of person revolting.
Trying to kill your own brother over a rumor, without even knowing what the rumor actually was. Kenichi felt that calling such a person "human" was an insult to humanity. Even he could not do something like that. If you were blood brothers, couldn't you just sit down and talk?
Unless there was truly no affection left between them. But according to Koyuki, her father had treated her uncle very well back then, and he had been a competent, responsible older brother.
More importantly, cooperating with Koyuki could bring Kenichi greater benefits. He had no interest in becoming a Daimyo, but having a whole country as a testing ground was not a bad option.

Kenichi looked down at her. Her hand was trembling in his grip. Even so, she stared at him without blinking, as if begging him to say the words she needed to hear.
"To send Doto on his way," Kenichi said with a soft chuckle.
He was nothing more than the useless Daimyo of the Land of Snow. Even if he died, it would not cause a ripple among the Five Great Villages. Even if everyone in the Land of Snow died, the Five Great Villages would not care.
"Mhm!" Tears flashed in Koyuki's eyes. She sniffled hard, widened her eyes, and forced the tears back before they could spill.
Holding her small hand, Kenichi walked out.
Orochimaru naturally noticed. He had even heard the conversation between his disciple and Koyuki, but he truly did not care. It was only Doto. If he died, then he died.
Nearby, Amado watched Kenichi and Koyuki's retreating figures. The corners of his mouth lifted slightly. He did not particularly care about the Land of Snow's politics, but Kenichi's choice still earned a bit more of his approval.
No one disliked making friends with decent people. With them, you did not have to constantly worry about getting stabbed in the back. Bad people could still get results, but you cooperated with them out of necessity, not trust.
"Mr. Amado," Orochimaru asked, studying him, "regarding genetics, what are your thoughts on genetic programming?"
He and Amado had just been discussing genetic issues. Kenichi had been stuck in this area for a long time, and as his teacher, Orochimaru felt it was necessary to help his not so promising disciple.
Amado's eyes sharpened immediately.
"The biggest problem with genetic programming is how to prevent genetic collapse after gene insertion," he said without hesitation. "That issue has troubled me for a very long time."
The Snow Shadow Building, a luxurious three story structure, stood under heavy guard. Shinobi surrounded it, posted at every entrance.
Their outfits almost made Kenichi laugh. Their appearance copied Konoha's ANBU style so closely it was shameless. Even their masks were nearly identical, making Kenichi shake his head.
Sometimes, Konoha looked like it had its flaws, but its influence was undeniable. Even a distant country like the Land of Snow was imitating Konoha's style. It was hard to describe.
"Let's go," Kenichi said calmly. "We'll just walk straight in."
He had already confirmed the strength of the Land of Snow's shinobi. The strongest were likely the three who had attacked Kakashi earlier. Together, they were around jounin level.
But individually, they were not enough.
And even jounin would not be enough to stop Kenichi, unless a Kage level powerhouse appeared in the Land of Snow. In a small country like this, that was naturally impossible.
"Is this… okay?" Koyuki asked nervously. "Isn't it too dangerous to just walk in like that?"
"Of course it's fine," Kenichi replied unhurriedly.
Still holding her hand, he walked up to the Snow Shadow Building's entrance. The moment they approached, two gate guards stepped forward and blocked the way.
"Who are you?" one demanded. "What is your purpose here?"
The other guard's eyes fell on Koyuki. He froze for a split second, then ecstasy flashed across his face.
He reached out to grab her.
Kenichi watched the scene with exasperation.
Did these idiots from the Hidden Snow Village have no concept of danger? Trying to snatch someone right beside him, without even waiting for him to speak?
Kenichi released Koyuki's hand.
Then he clenched his right fist and drew a blade of crackling Lightning Release straight from his left palm.
A booming roar of thunder echoed across the capital of the Land of Snow.
