"So now you are my student, let me introduce myself again, I am Danir Mackerwood from the Mackerwood house and I am a Grand Mage", Bastro look towards Felix in hoping that his son will also introduce himself and he did "I am Felix Bardeen, I will be in your care Master" Bastro had a beaming face to see his son happy after a long time. That evening went into long talks and a few stories and experiences of both the former adventurers. Felix went to sleep after dinner but he knows that the chatters will not stop any time soon. "Hahaha enough with those dungeon raids, well it was a good time.. , ah most important thing, I will head back tomorrow to the capital" Danir said, "Is there any work left?" Bastro asked while refilling the alcohol, "I have to receive my commission for participating in this war and I will went to Mackerwood estate one last time, and more importantly I will collect some books on aura core for Felix to check the reasons for this great talent" Danir said in skepticism and continued in a sombre face "And you know that Felix want to learn both Sword and Magic, tell him the pros and cons of this".
Next morning when Felix wake up he saw both Bastro, Nellie and Danir were at house door, Danir notice Felix and gesture him with his hand to come here, Felix had a confused expression and Danir replied his confusion "Felix, due to some changes in plan I am going to capital for few months, train your aura core in due time as much as you can and try not to shock anyone anymore, hahaha" Danir said teasingly and all laugh at it but Felix ask worriedly "Then what about my magic training?" On this question Danir flicked his finger at Felix's forehead and replied 'The body's craving becomes the priority, but the soul's path is the purpose'. Means that your body's wish to learn more is necessary but your soul's energy to push you further on the path has to be the goal, don't try to grasp everything at once or what you have will overwhelm you. You will understand one day, anyway bye for now." Danir left Felix with an attentive gaze and interest, "Quite a heavy quote, but did you understand?" Bastro asked, to which Felix replied yes because his brain is already grown up then his actual age.
"Felix, now what I am going to tell you is a very important thing, so listen carefully" Bastro went into the dining room and sat in a chair and continued "You still want to learn both Sword and Magic?" Felix didn't understand the reason for this question and replied "Yes", "Hmm, both aura which is for warrior and knights, and mana which is for mages is stored in their core in a person's body. Aura is formed with mental strength or you can say the struggle and pressure on mind and body which develops in the body through the intense training is the reason for aura. However Mana is something which is found in nature and a person forms a core or you can say a chamber to store it in their body, mana is present in everyone since birth but you can become a mage if you have magic affinity and to channelize it the core acts as a conductor through which you can use it." Batro took a sip of water and continued "This difference in nature makes both of this energy highly repulsive to each other, and here comes the risk, those who tried to contain both energy which explode in contact have high chances of getting crippled and in worst cases death. Now tell me, will you take these both the energies in your chest with this much risk?" Bastro said in a furrowed brow and lips pressed but Felix was not showing any expressions of worries and asked "Is there no one who uses Mana and Aura?".
This question of Felix's shows his resolve and spirit to not back down on his words but still Bastro as his parents was worried even though he knew that Felix would be hard one to convince, "There are few people who learn both energies but compare to the ratio of knights or mages they are nowhere in comparison. Let me clear one more thing, if you just train with sword then it is guaranteed that you will reach high heights and in magic also it will be same, but mastering both power and balancing them is something which will take much more effort and… sigh~ I will not nag you more, we have a Grand Mage so it will not lead to death even in worst case but it can lead to destroy your career, think carefully and answer me later" Bastro was worried and scared to see Felix again in the state where he will just lie on bed forever. Felix was neither worried nor scared but another anxiety was eating him 'If I choose both energies then I might not reach greater heights but it's fine, still is it okay to leave this chance when I have rare talent in both areas?!' Felix didn't want to deny this offer but he was not sure.
After Felix recovered from his injuries in sword training he again went to his regular schedule. Two months passed from Danir's departure and everything was going on normal and the summer season came. It was the most awaited season of all the villagers because merchants from the capital city and other various kingdoms used to set their tents for two days in different villages. And today they have arrived in Buskon Village, "Fel let's go tonight to visit merchants' tent" Nellie said cheerful smile and Felix just nodded while gritting teeth in response because he was tired of standing on his hand, it was Bastro's new training which he just planned to mock Felix and in return Felix have to be given one gold coin if he stand still on his hands for one hour.
At evening time, a huge crowd emerged in the ground where the tent was set up and Felix also came with his Family, 'Hehehe! That bastard thinks that I will lose but, hehe, I got one gold coin!. Now what should I buy?' Felix was super excited to see different types of goods and he was especially looking for something which Bastro recommended to him, 'Where is the Lumen Flower Pendant?' Felix was looking for a Lumen Flower Pendant because it helps in meditation and stable the aura and mana during the training. "Do you have a Lumen Flower Pendant?" Felix asks at one tent and gets to know that it can be found in the merchant head's tent. "Do you sell Lumen Flower Pendant?" Felix asked a boy at the counter who was not much older than then Felix, "Yes sir, we have two types of Pendants of Lumen Flower, Fire Lumen or Ice Lumen, which one will you take?" "Ehh…" 'That rascal didn't tell me anything about two types of Lumen!!' Felix was cursing Bastro but because he didn't know the difference, "Can you tell me, which Lumen Flower stabilises mana and aura?" Felix said with a forced smile and his mouth twitching, "Fire Lumen helps in mana stabilization and Ice Lumen helps in aura stabilization, there is no Lumen which can work on both." "Huh?".
"Dad! Why didn't you tell me properly about the Lumen Flower?!" Felix finds Bastro and Nellie in a different tent and heads home immediately with them, and now he is shouting because he knows it was another mischievous trick of Bastro. 'Those people were laughing at my question. Just because of this bastard!' Felix saw people laughing and more than that he was angry because all his money was spent in just buying these two flower pendants. "Oh~ I didn't tell you clearly? My bad" Bastro was grinning and Felix was not intending to let it go. After two hours of commotion Felix got two gold coins and he decided to spend it tomorrow to buy some delicious food which he had marked with his eyes today.
One month passed after the merchant's camp left the village and it was quite peaceful and a normal day was going for Felix until Danir came back. Felix didn't tell Bastro anything about his magic and sword learning decision but now he has to decide whether he will follow his path with either sword or magic, or will he choose both.
