Chapter 1 - BORN TO DIE: ENTRY OF LORD SULTAN.

Everyone says life is beautiful. Yeah, I've heard it a couple of times when I was a teenager. People who were born on very unfortunate days are great people-- Uh...pause. I was born on an unfortunate day. Not any kind anyway. One which remains the bloodiest battle yet. In all of Nazarath, the great and mighty king, Sultan attacked my hometown, something we least expected even for a second.

"Burn down everything you see. Leave nothing behind! All hail king Sultan!!!"

The stench of blood filled the air within an instant, smoke scoured the air like wild beasts, and the villagers crying helplessly as everyone one of them got merciless slaughtered. In the midst of the cries of agony, the cryy of a child was heard. The village went solemn at the sound of the helpless cry. All eyes and ears silently concentrated on every frequency that came from the hut at the village square. The mean commander turns around after dealing with a young milk seller, gritting his teeth hard with red anger. He groans and loudly announced to all his fellow comrades on the field. "That goddamn baby has been born!" . A soldier walks up to him and whispers a few words to him. He listens keenly, then hurries to announce again, " You deal with these lower-ups. I'll go take the baby myself. " The soldiers continue their torture, and the commander immediately takes to his heels, dashing through the bushes with less concent.

"Miss Clariette, it's a baby boy! " The mid wife announced to the tired and weary woman on the floor mat. She gently holds the boy in her arms and tries to take him to his mother's arms. She looks over at him and tears filled her eyes, but the sorrow that held within was unbearable. Her muscles were too weak to move, but she couldn't let herself slip like this, could she? "He looks beautiful....", she suddenly said, with a crooked hoarse tone. She could slowly feel the life slip out her body, but she fought back the darkness trying to engulf her. 'I can not go now....I have to hold him...' , she thought to herself. "I...want to hold him...." . The nurse looked downat the woman with sympathy filled in her eyes. She gently brings the helpless baby close to her so she could at least feel his body on her. Whether she liked it or not, they all knew she couldn't carry him at this state. The candle flame suddenly flicked, and the windows flew open, welcoming a gust of wind into the room and blowing off the candle all the same. This made both of the women freeze in panic. The baby's cry erupted again as he wiggled aggressively in his loosely wrapped cloth. The room went silent and the atmosphere was filled with dense fear and death. The room was dimly lit by the light of the moon, but the sudden silence gave way for the cries of the agonized villagers to be heard. The nurse in particular trembled badly with the baby in her arms, adrenaline rushing through her veins, her body pouring out sweat, as she began harnessing thoughts of running away, but the power that surrounded them was everything but familiar.....except the one that was close by....The woman suddenly panicked, then a loud scream escaped from her mouth "SPARTAN...!!!" . The clashing of blades it later heard at that split of a second, but the suspended clinging of metals were heard. The mean commander stood right behind the nurse with his sword, ready to chop her head off, but at the same time, there stood a man at her side with a sword, blocking the attack. The commander retreats and steps back. The strange figure doesn't flinch and neither looks fazed by the situation. The nurse recovers from the freezing effect and hurriedly runs out of the hut, and neither the commander nor the strange man try to stop her. The commander snorts, then chuckles darkly, his chuckle echoing in every corner of the room, one which could send chills down any normal person's spine, one which could send children into panic. The figure doesn't react to any of this but just stares in total silence as he watched carefully while standing before the woman's body. The commander stops chuckling and looks straight at the strange figure in amusement. "Well, well. Isn't this just one of the days I've wished for? I guess fate just has it's way of doing things, don't you agree?"
