"Okay we need to get these Nikki's concert tickets like yesterday" Dawn said with her eyes on her phone, scrolling through TikTok. We were in my apartment floor, with a bag of chips between us, it was one of the weekends when we choose to hangout with each other with a good movie and books.
My mind wasn't here, what happened back at Noah's house plagued my mind, I couldn't stop thinking about it, the way he kissed me so softly, his hands all over my body, I didn't want him to stop, I didn't want to stop.
"Helloo, earth to Amelia?" Dawn said snapping her fingers
"Mmmhm I'm here, what were you saying" I said shifting focus to her
"I said we need to get tickets for Nikki's concert we have to go, I've seen videos online of the concerts and they are fun" she said
"Mmmhm we should" I replied half heartedly
"Okay something's up chica, what is it? Spill?"
I knew not to lie to my best friend. I mean if I don't tell her who would I tell?
"I may or may not have made out with Noah Prescott" I said slowly and my eyes avoiding her gaze.
"You what?!" She shrieked
"I know I know but everything happened so fast and–
"That's huge chica, oh my, how was it, I want to hear the details" she smiled sitting up
I told her everything that happened in details like she wanted.
"That was hot, I'm even getting wet from this story" she said, fanning herself with her hands laughing.
"But I don't know Dawn, what if he turns out to be worse than Flynn and he is a client too, I'm supposed to set boundaries am I not?"
"Chica, not Everyman is like your terrible ex, Noah seems like a good guy, he's well mannered from everything you've told me and he is filthy rich, boundaries yes, but you clearly like him" Dawn emphasized
"Well I guess-
"No it's written all over you, and you should embrace this feeling not run from it, see where it takes you and I'll be here always if you need me"
I felt somewhat relieved talking to Dawn, my best friend for reason, I hugged her tightly after.
"Okay get off me" she said pushing me away "now can we get to buying tickets?" She asked brushing my hair with my hands
"Yes absolutely" I said grinning.

I woke up with my phone ringing incessantly, Gosh would could be calling me at this time of the night, I picked up my phone to see the caller ID being none other than Noah Prescott
"Hello" I answered groggily
"Hi Amelia, did I wake you" he said with that rich baritone voice so deep, you could melt
"Ah, yes you did"
"I'm so sorry, i didn't expect you to be asleep so early, it's 9pm" he replied
"Yeah I'm an early sleeper " I replied silence encasing us
"So, you've been avoiding me Ms Monroe" he said
"Me? Avoiding you? That's absurd, I've just been busy " I retorted
Heck I've been avoiding him, I sent my colleagues over to his office in place of me, they were more than happy to meet the finest bachelor in town, he sent flowers and and gifts to my house so as not to cause a scene in the office, I never responded, texts were left unread too, so yes i was avoiding him, but who wouldn't.
"Listen I know what happened between us back at my house was a little foward?"
"A little?"
"Okay it was foward, that's exactly how I feel about you Christ, you're the only thing I think about all day, I can't focus on Amelia, I want you…"
That last sentence sent a zing up my body, I wanted this too, but what was holding me back?
"Noah… I don't know, "i whispered staring at the wall in my room confused
"I have a little get together with family and friends on Sunday, I'd love for you come and meet them" he said pleading

"Okay, if it would get you to stop pestering me' I said
"Perfect, I'll pick you up" he said and hung up.
He'll pick me up? That's new and why do I get this feeling this is going to be a really bad idea.
I laid back down on my bed forcefully, trying to sleep, but sleep didn't come, oh Noah what have you done to me?
