Chapter 3: Death Long Due!
"My Love please don't leave me alone, I have yet to fulfill my promise to you" Orin a man the lightning clan associated with wisdom and strength was crying at the impending death of his spouse.
"You don't have to worry about that, you have already done so and more. You gave me a life worth living regardless of how short it was, Plus you won't be alone I will on through Thrain and Hela." Though each word was a struggle she did her upmost to speak what was in her heart for she knew tonight would be her last chance to do so.
"You will be in pain, but please look after them for me, they will need you more than ever before after tonight." As they talked alone among themselves for a while before the arrival of their children.
"Mother!" the moment Hela laid eyes on her mother, she ran to her throwing all her etiquettes training to the fore-winds.
"Ah my sweat girl, how I wish I could have seen you grow up and get married."
"But why can't you then? Your right here, and you always be here right?" at this point she was not asking but begging. While the kids had no idea of the concept of death they knew that after tonight they would never be able to lay their eyes on their mother.
"But you promised, you promised to tell me a story tomorrow" Hela cried out in an accusatory manner.
Serge cradling her daughter in her arms while lying down as she no longer had the strength to sit up, spoke to her first born "Thrain"
Hearing his name being called out Thrain forced himself to standup straight while wiping away his tears as he didn't want his mother's memory of him being that of a weak boy, "Sniffle Yes mother" well he tried but a few sobs still leaked through.
"Look after your sister for me will you?" but what she said got a rise out of Hela "But mother with how he is I'm the one who always has to look out for him and I'm the youngest"
"Ha ha ha cough cough, I'm sorry for that, so Hela will you continue to look after your brother for me?" Hela forced herself to stop crying and gave a strong "YES"
"My love are you still there, it seems my eyes have begun to fail me?"
"I'm here to the very end Love" Orin spoke out as he took his wife's hand.
"I have one last request for you Orin, I gave my word to tell the kids tales of our adventures but it seems that I can no longer keep it so will you do it in my stead" all she got was a stronger hold on her hand, but she knew he had taken it upon himself to complete it.
The family spoke with Serge till she drew her last breath.
That night the whole palace heard the cries of a heart broken Girl.
