Chapter 1 - Whispers of the first branch

Shadows Seemed to whisper.

An endless desert that seemed to stretch over the horizon. With the sun falling down Straight over it.

A lone cart moved through the desert, unfazed by either sand or the sun glaring down on it.

A soft feminine voice cut through the silence.

Edward, my dear, you shouldn't push yourself so much, we've been traveling for a whole day, aren't you tired? come and have some rest before we get going again.

A voice answered: Eve, Honey... if I didn't push myself and sacrifice my self for the sake of our child who would?

Edward guided both of his horses towards the city, a sense of discomfort followed him while he was leaving the desert. He felt as if shadows lingered a second late to their hosts, he could've sworn that they stayed still for a heartbeat after the cart moved.

After sometime the strain caused by travel made him lose clarity of himself, not resting after that made the strain more pronounced, yet it didn't stop him. eventually though; he started sweating more, his control over the cart seemed to dim, it reached the degree of Edward forcing himself to use his fragment to boost himself, even though it was temporary it allowed him to push himself with the cart, and his wife with their unborn child inside.

Gradually the scorching sun that had been glaring down on Edward and his cart seemed to finally dim, until the unbearable heat of the sun got replaced by the cozy air of the night. he was finally able to rest after this long exhausting journey.

The same sweet and soft voice lingered in the air this time with a question.

Edward, what name should we call our kid?

a voice answered: maybe if the kid is a female? we can name her after you Eve?

Eve answered him softly: what if he's a boy? what should we call him?

her voice lingered in the air for a while.

until an answer came from Edward: lets call him Yabbos.

Edward got up from his rest and stared at a mask in a distant, he then said: it feels like that antique over there also agrees.

Edward tried to sleep, yet there was a distant whisper in the horizon, a whisper that shouldn't exist. It didn't have any vessel to come from, so why, why was there a distant whisper since he started his journey, eventually exhaustion overtook him and made him rest.

Edward suddenly woke up from a nightmare, a nightmare that was worse than death in his eyes,

Edward decided to wake up Eve to get her ready to depart and continue their journey, Eve getting ready was stared at by Edward, he asked: How's the baby doing? is he fine from the sudden disturbance of his slumber?

Eve answered: I don't think he was disturbed at all, he's not kicking or moving really so he's probably asleep.

Good for him. Edward answered. after noticing that Eve got ready he decided to start their departure. it was a rather peaceful journey. Edward thought to himself, it was a confusing journey for him aswell, He has seen many things on his journey that can't be described as normal.

Finally on a distant away the horizon of this damned desert no longer roamed, he finally saw the structures of mankind city, the city that's known for high job rates, affordable homes, many merchants along with their stores, and most importantly: their renowned schools, these are the many reasons Eve and Edward came to this city for; to provide for their incoming kid.

Both of them always wished for a kid together, once they actually got blessed by one, all the plans they made about moving to the city and building a family there was finally put to action.

It seemed as if time stopped flowing as a shout that can only be described more as a cry of suffering cut through the air. Edward immediately stopped the cart to check over his wife, only to be met with her telling him she feels as if she's giving birth, Edward immediately pushed his way toward the city only to be met by its guards. The guards told him to halt and open his cart, Edward explained that he was in a hurry, his wife was giving birth currently as they speak, the guards noticing the fear in his eyes sent over a female guard to check, she shouted: Open the doors damnit, this woman is giving birth right now.

Speeding through the busy roads and going by the guard instructions, he finally arrived to the hospital. Edward stopped the cart and ran toward Eve, the female guard they met on the gates stayed with them to insure that they're indeed giving birth and due to worrying for her fellow female. The doors of the hospital were burst open by a guard, the smell of the medicine that flips the head, it made Edward feel dizzy. walking through the doors he was stopped by a nurse telling him to wait here until the answers came. A cry cut through the silence of the waiting room, making Edward even more frightened over his child and wife, until the very same nurse of before showed up and told him the chances of both his wife staying alive and his child living were slim.

Edward fell into despair.
