Chapter 26 - Chapter 26: The Most Touching Family Drama of the Year

Daniel was about to speak, but a muffled groan from Blade came through his communicator.

Immediately after, a strange voice came from the communicator: "Hey, you must be the Vampire Killer, right? I heard you've been messing with Daywalkers, looking for me?"

Daniel raised an eyebrow: "Dekeon Frost?"

"That's right, it's me."

Frost readily admitted: "To be honest, I'm very interested in you. A mere human being can kill so many Vampires. I can give you a chance, join us and become part of the great Vampire race!"

Daniel chuckled: "I'll have to think about that. How about this, I'll come find you now, and we can sit down and talk slowly."

"Hmph!"

Frost snorted coldly, his voice instantly turning frigid: "Since you don't cherish this opportunity, then just wait! The era of Vampires is about to arrive. After tonight, all humans will become our slaves!"

After delivering a standard villainous speech, Frost cut off the communication.

Daniel glanced at the map; the green dot representing Blade was moving rapidly.

He immediately took the elevator to the floor where the other party was located.

Ding!!

The elevator stopped, and outside the door stood a group of Vampires holding firearms.

The moment the elevator doors opened, they immediately pulled their triggers, and countless bullets poured out, rattling against the elevator.

However, when the elevator doors fully opened, it was empty inside, and all the bullets missed.

"Cease fire!"

The leading Vampire issued an order, signaling to the Vampires around him with a gesture.

This Vampire nodded, holding an automatic rifle, and cautiously walked into the elevator to investigate the situation.

He looked around, confirmed no one was there, then turned his head and shouted: "Captain, there's no…"

"Watch out behind you!"

The Vampire outside the elevator widened his eyes, pointing behind the Vampire.

The Vampire spun around, only to see Daniel, like a ghost, flipping down from the elevator ceiling, grinning at him.

"Have you eaten? If not, I'll treat you to some garlic."

Before he finished speaking, Daniel pulled the pin from a concentrated garlic essence grenade and shoved it into the Vampire's mouth, then kicked him fiercely out of the elevator!

Yellow mist sprayed from the Vampire's mouth, instantly turning him into a roasted Vampire, ready to eat with a sprinkle of cumin.

Speaking of which, Vampires are indeed an ingredient in the Classic of Mountains and Seas; eating them is said to prolong life.

"It's garlic essence, run!"

Seeing the spreading yellow mist, the Vampires reacted as if a septic tank had exploded, desperately trying to get away.

Seizing the opportunity, Daniel quickly raised his gun and fired.

Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!

Bullets pierced through the yellow mist, accurately perforating the heads of these Vampires.

As the yellow mist gradually dispersed, only the lone Vampire Captain remained in the corridor.

The Vampire Captain, seeing Daniel's ferocity, dropped his automatic rifle, clenched his fists, assumed a fighting stance, and challenged Daniel.

"Dare you put down your gun and have a man's duel with me?"

"I don't dare."

Daniel answered succinctly.

Vampire Captain: "."

Why was this script not quite what he imagined?

Bang! Bang!

Daniel pulled the trigger, shooting off the Vampire Captain's legs, then walked forward and pressed the muzzle against his forehead.

"Where is Frost taking Blade?"

"Do you think I'll tell you?" the Vampire Captain sneered.

Bang!

Without another word, Daniel shot the Vampire Captain's arm again.

"From now on, every time you don't answer my question, I'll shoot you."

The pure silver attached to the bullets burned the wound, causing the Vampire Captain immense pain.

"Fuck, you…"

Bang!

"You…"

Bang!

"I'll tell you, I'll tell you…"

Bang!

"I was about to tell you, why did you still shoot me!" the Vampire Captain broke down.

"My apologies, it's a habit."

"."

Fearing Daniel would shoot again, the Vampire Captain quickly said: "Yongye Hall! They went to Yongye Hall! Frost needs a living Daywalker to complete some kind of ritual!"

It seemed Blade was not in immediate danger.

Daniel noticed the green dot of his teammate on the map starting to move outwards, grabbed the Vampire Captain: "Do you have a car?"

"Yes, yes I do."

"Give me the car keys!"

The Vampire Captain, with a mournful face, tremblingly handed over the car keys he had just gotten on loan.

Was he being robbed?

Yongye Hall was located in a remote, developing suburb. A construction site could be seen from afar.

However, upon closer inspection, one would notice that these facilities were not in operation, with no signs of actual construction, clearly serving as a cover-up.

Daniel drove to a flat area two hundred meters away from the construction site and pulled out a telescope to observe it.

Two-meter-high barbed wire surrounded the perimeter, and many Vampires carrying firearms patrolled the construction site, suggesting something very important was inside.

Daniel glanced at the map, found Blade deep underground, and immediately pulled out a diamond pickaxe to dig downwards.

Ten minutes later, Daniel dug through the earth in front of him, and his vision suddenly opened up.

Deep underground, there was an incredibly vast subterranean space, which looked like an ancient structure left from a long time ago.

Following Blade's location, Daniel quickly arrived at a secret room where several Vampires were guarding a huge stone sarcophagus.

Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!

The golden desert eagle fired continuously, and the Vampire guards instantly turned to dust.

"Ah!!"

A piercing scream suddenly came from beside him.

Daniel turned his head, only to find a dark-skinned female Vampire standing in the shadows.

Damn, when would this racial advantage get nerfed?

Bang!

Daniel decisively shot her to shut her up.

He walked to the stone sarcophagus and fumbled around, quickly finding and pressing a switch.

With the sound of a mechanism activating, the stone sarcophagus slowly opened, revealing the unconscious Blade inside.

However, his condition was very bad. There were two sharp blades on either side of the sarcophagus interior, deeply cutting his wrists. Blood continuously dripped from the wounds, flowing down the patterns of the sarcophagus.

Without the support of the stone sarcophagus, Blade directly fell to the ground.

"Blade, wake up."

Daniel squatted down and patted Blade's face, but there was no reaction.

From Blade's pale complexion, it was clear this was a symptom of severe blood loss.

According to Blade, although he was half-human, half-Vampire, he had never consumed fresh human blood, and his self-healing ability was far less powerful than that of a Vampire.

At this rate, even with Blade's strong physique, he would surely die.

Daniel pulled out the newly acquired Coin of Destiny from his game inventory, but after looking at Blade's unlucky face, he put it away and took out a bottle of red potion instead.

[Item: Potion of Life (After use, gradually restores health over 15 seconds)]

Daniel pinched open Blade's mouth and roughly poured the potion in.

The medicine was effective immediately!

The wound on Blade's wrist began to heal at a visible speed, and his pale face gradually regained some color. His eyelids fluttered, and he slowly opened his eyes.

Looking at the awakened Blade, Daniel said speechlessly: "We agreed to catch Frost together, but how did you end up getting caught instead?"

"There was an accident. My mother isn't dead. It turns out she was already turned into a Vampire by Frost, became Frost's person, and ambushed me with Frost."

Blade's mood was very complicated at this moment.

Originally, his birth mother being alive again should have been a happy thing, even if she became a Vampire.

But he never expected that his birth mother would get involved with Frost, his enemy!

In other words, Frost became his stepfather, and from now on, they would have to address each other accordingly.

Thinking of this, Blade gritted his teeth: "I must find her and ask her face to face why she did this!"

Daniel looked at Blade with some sympathy.

His own mother, for the sake of her stepfather, did not hesitate to harm her own son, even trying to kill him. Anyone would find that unbearable.

He patted Blade's shoulder in comfort: "So where is your mother? I can help you find her."

Blade looked around, trying hard to recall: "Before I passed out, she seemed to be right beside me. Did you see a black woman when you came in just now?"

"."

Daniel glanced at the inconspicuous pile of ashes in the corner and shook his head without hesitation: "Never seen her. I guess your mother must have left, but I believe you two will reunite someday."
