Chapter 2 - Is This Kids Playing House?

"Where is this?" In endless darkness, the boy's consciousness woke up.

"Who turned off the lights? Why can't I see anything?"

"Hey, don't mess with me. Is anyone there?"

But no matter how he shouted, there was no response.

Gradually, who knew how much time passed, he calmed down. The boundless darkness made him feel unbelievably small.

He realized he was in a void. There was nothing under his feet, yet he could stand there steadily.

Suddenly, not far away in the emptiness, a dazzling white light appeared.

"That is… the Silver King's Sword of Damocles." When the glow slowly faded, he finally saw what it was, wrapped in light.

As an ordinary young man from Earth, he had naturally watched some anime from island nations. By coincidence, K was one of them.

And the Silver King's ability was exactly the one he liked most and wanted most: immutability, a power that meant eternal youth and immortality, and it could even let you fly.

He wanted to get closer to that Sword of Damocles, and his body drifted forward along with his thoughts.

The moment his hand touched the sword, it burst into an even more dazzling white light, and then he lost consciousness again.

He didn't know how long it was before he heard noisy voices filling his ears. As someone who liked quiet, he couldn't stand an environment like this.

"Hey, can you stop making so much noise? It's annoying as hell. Are you going to let me sleep or not?"

The moment he said that, he opened his eyes.

"Hey, Captain, that kid woke up."

Before he could fully process what was happening, a sharp voice rang in his ear. The voice sounded strangely familiar, like he'd heard it somewhere before.

Then he suddenly sat up, because he realized this was not his home at all.

"What the hell happened?"

He held his head with one hand, trying to recall what had just happened.

"Hey, kid. Who are you?" Roger walked up in front of him and asked. But the boy didn't answer. From the look on his face, it seemed like he was thinking about something.

But seeing his captain being ignored, Buggy couldn't take it. He walked up and kicked the white-haired boy again.

"Hey, our captain is talking to you!"

"Huh?" The kick snapped him back to his senses, but he couldn't understand why this red-nosed kid had so much strength.

"Our captain asked you. Who are you?"

"Who am I? I'm the one who wants to ask who you are. Why did you tie me up and bring me here?"

"We tied you up? Kid, you fell out of the sky onto us. We didn't tie you up."

"Are you joking? How could I fall out of the sky?"

"I think it sounds like a joke too, but you really did fall from the sky. Oh right, there was also a huge silver-white sword, but it disappeared when you landed."

"A giant sword… so that wasn't a dream." He suddenly remembered the Sword of Damocles from his dream.

"Then what is this place?"

"This is a deserted island."

"A deserted island? A deserted island where?"

"Of course, the New World."

"The New World? The New World? The New World! One Piece?" After he worked it out, he looked up at the red nose in front of him. It really did resemble the one in his memory.

"What One Piece? But at least you've got some sense. Our captain is definitely going to become the Pirate King," Buggy said.

"Ah! Wait, that's not right. We're the ones asking you questions, so how did it turn into you asking me? Hurry up and tell me, who are you really?"

After realizing he'd been led around without noticing, Buggy got furious.

"My name is Adolf K Shirakawa."

"Oh. Then what are you? A pirate? A Marine? Or a civilian?"

"I don't know. Other than my name, I've forgotten everything."

Shirakawa could now be completely sure he had transmigrated into the world of One Piece.

"Oh, I see." That was Roger speaking. He'd been listening to Shirakawa and Buggy's conversation the whole time.

And he could tell Shirakawa was lying. As for which sentence was the lie, he didn't know.

"Then what are you planning to do from now on?"

"I don't know. But can I follow you?" This is a thigh I need to hug. Hug it while I can. That was Shirakawa's thought right now.

"Want to follow us? Kid, we're pirates. You can die at any time. Besides, we don't take in useless people," Roger said as he looked Shirakawa over. He looked weaker than even an ordinary strong man.

"I'm not afraid of death, and I'm not useless. I feel like I'm stronger than that red-nosed kid."

Of course Shirakawa was afraid of dying, but he couldn't say that out loud right now.

"Red nose? Me? A kid?" Buggy flew into a rage. "Kid, stand up. I'll show you how awesome Lord Buggy is!"

"Alright. If you can defeat Buggy, I'll agree to let you board my ship. How about it?" Roger said.

"Thank you, Captain."

"Hold it. Don't rush to call me that. You haven't beaten Buggy yet, so you're not my crew."

"Don't worry, Captain. Sooner or later, I will be."

Hearing that, Buggy's temper rose even more. Wasn't this obviously not taking him seriously?

As for why Shirakawa picked Buggy, it was because in his understanding, Buggy was very weak, just a bit luckier than most.

When the crew heard Buggy was going to duel the guy who fell from the sky, the Roger Pirates became excited. They consciously formed a circle to watch the fun.

"You're Buggy, right? You go first. I'm afraid that once I move, you won't even get a chance."

"Damn it, you still dare look down on me!"

Shirakawa was 2020, while Buggy was a 1212-year-old kid. He didn't think he could lose to Buggy.

Buggy charged at Shirakawa with his fists up.

"I'll one-shot you. Buggy Punch!"

When he got close, Buggy suddenly jumped and swung his fist down, smashing it toward Shirakawa's head.

Shirakawa raised both arms to protect his head and blocked the blow.

"It hurts." The instant he took the punch, it felt like a hammer had slammed into his arms.

But the pain only lasted a moment before vanishing.

Shirakawa didn't know what was going on, but right now the fight in front of him mattered more.

"You hit me once. Now it's my turn."

Shirakawa threw a punch at Buggy, but Buggy dodged it easily.

Then the two of them tangled up like kids fighting, grabbing and yanking, trading punches and kicks.

"So boring." Some of the onlookers were already yawning.

After more than ten minutes of scuffling, neither of them was seriously hurt, but both were panting hard.

"Kid, you forced my hand," Buggy said. At some point, he pulled out a dagger and held it tight.

Then he stabbed at Shirakawa in an instant, moving more than twice as fast as before.
