Chapter 3 - chapter 3 :The CEO pursuit

Su Yuxin sat in her office, eyes fixed on the screens in front of her. She had been monitoring every possible lead for hours—delivery logs, security cameras, public transport records, and even employee schedules at local logistics companies. Her instincts told her that Li Wei wasn't someone ordinary. A delivery man, yes, but one whose movements were too precise, too controlled for a simple courier.

She scrolled through footage of him riding his yellow motorcycle—every motion deliberate, every corner taken with calculated speed. He left almost no trace, but a combination of deduction, timing, and patience had finally revealed his workplace: Golden Crane Delivery Solutions.

Her lips curved into a faint, satisfied smile. This was it. Today, she would meet him again. She wouldn't wait for fate to align.

Su Yuxin called her lead investigator into her office. "I need a full profile on Li Wei. She was able to describe him to some extent, hoping to get something about him she was pessimistic because the name could be alias. The only clue she also has is the fact that he was driving a courier bike on that evening meaning he works for a delivery company.

The investigator jotted down things he needed in finding him and after asking some questions that will help me in finding him left.

"That's exactly why I want to see it with my own eyes," Su Yuxin replied, her voice calm but commanding. "He's skilled, and talent like that rarely goes unnoticed by me."

Few hours later

The secretary opened the door for the investigator to come in.

Ma'am I think I have gotten him there aren't many people with that name and based on your description I think I have got him.

Is he this person? he asked

Su yuxin looked at the picture in front of her and a sense of familiarity overwhelmed her.

Yes it is

she answered, looking so dazed on how fast and reliable this investigator was. It is truly him.

Finally, the investigator pinpointed the company building. "Golden Crane Delivery Solutions. Downtown, small-scale, high activity. Li Wei works under a boss named Zhang—short-tempered, controlling, expects obedience from his employees."

"Good," she said. "We move now."

Golden Crane Delivery Solutions was chaotic, but not disorganized. Parcels piled high, delivery scooters squeezed into every corner, dispatchers shouting instructions. Su Yuxin entered the warehouse, heels clicking sharply on the concrete floor. Every head turned immediately.

They could not stop looking at her,

Su felt alot of stares on her body she is used to it, she always draws attention wherever she goes.

Zhang, the boss, was at the center—a broad man with a booming voice and an intimidating presence. He looked up and upon seeing the beauty with two people accompanying her he knows a powerful people when he sees one and he knows that this beautiful lady that just walked inside his company is one .

He greeted them respectfully and try to inquire why they came

Su looked at him and replied

I'm here for your worker Li wei

"Who are you? And what do you want with my employee?"

"I'm here to speak with Li Wei," Su Yuxin said calmly. "It will take only a few minutes, and he will return to his duties immediately. I respect your operation and will not disrupt it."

Zhang smiled , knowing that they came in peace because he was a bit worried that maybe Li wei have done something wrong that might have implicated the company.

He is not around at the moment he is out to deliver to our clients downtown

Su Yuxin met his eyes with unwavering confidence.

I want him to start working with me

What ever your price is I will pay you for the compensation.

"I am not taking him. I am offering an opportunity. He will not leave his job. Compensation will be provided for his time. He can still work for you it all depends on the agreement I am able to reach with him.

Zhang frowned, visibly struggling to assert dominance. Most people would have cowered under her calm authority, but Su Yuxin didn't just command respect—she projected it without raising her voice. After a tense moment, he waved a reluctant hand.

The warehouse was filled with movement, but Li Wei remained a figure of calm. He stacked parcels, adjusted packages on scooters, and moved between conveyor belts with flawless precision.

Su Yuxin watched quietly. Every motion was economical yet controlled. His stance while lifting heavy parcels hinted at strong core strength and balance. A slight adjustment of his wrist to secure a package revealed fine motor skill and attention to detail. Even bending to pick a small box, he shifted his weight flawlessly, preventing strain or misstep.

She couldn't help but notice: subtle signs of martial arts training in every ordinary motion.

Li Wei glanced up at her, expression calm and amused. "You're watching me very closely."

"I'm studying skill," Su Yuxin replied evenly. "Precision, awareness, control… all rare qualities. You possess them naturally."

He smirked faintly. "Naturally?"

"No," she said, tone teasing. "Trained. Years of discipline. Most people would never notice these little details."

Li Wei shook his head and returned to his work, the faintest smile tugging at his lips. "You give compliments carefully, don't you?"

"I observe carefully," Su Yuxin replied. "And when someone is exceptional, it's worth pointing out."

She stepped closer. "Li Wei, I need someone with your skill. Not for deliveries, not for mundane tasks, but for situations that requires security and defense

You are trained in combat and I want to hire you as my bodyguard

I will pay you well and also get accomodation for you.

Pttfff

Li wei laughed

He crossed his arms, expression amused and skeptical. "I don't need this. I'm fine where I am. My deliveries keep me busy. I don't want complications."

She thought for a moment

"You will keep your deliveries," she said firmly. I have spoken to your boss you work from 8 in the morning till noon you can start working for me from noon till evening that I close from work .

He raised an eyebrow. "And why should I trust you?"

"Because I don't make offers lightly," Su Yuxin replied. "I come personally when talent is worth my attention. I've seen your skill, Li Wei and I'm impressed that with you around I'm safe.

Li Wei tilted his head, studying her. "I still don't need it. I have my life. I like my freedom. I don't work for anyone."

"I understand," Su Yuxin said, calm but unwavering. "And you won't have to. You maintain your independence, your routine. You just work half a day for me and I can pay you more than ten time of your current salary.

Su Yuxin looked at him steadily. "Mr. Zhang, I respect your authority. This is not about taking him away. As we agreed earlier Li Wei can still work for you if he wanrs. Compensation for your business will be provided. I simply need him for security. No disruption. Nothing more."

Zhang blinked, a little taken aback. He is not sure why the beautiful ready insists on having Li wei work for him but he knows that he is very strong because he remembers when he kept thugs that goes about extorting money from business people like him. Her calm, unwavering tone left no room for argument. He huffed, muttered something under his breath, and stepped back.

Li Wei smirked faintly. "You handle people well."

"I get results," Su Yuxin replied lightly.

Alone with him again, Li Wei crossed his arms. "I'm still not interested. I don't want this job. I like my deliveries, my life, my rules. Nothing about that changes."

"You keep everything," Su Yuxin said. "Your deliveries, your independence, your choices. Nothing changes unless you choose. I only ask for collaboration when needed."

He leaned against a stack of parcels, observing her with a faintly challenging look. "And if I say no?"

"Then nothing changes," she replied softly. "But I think you'll regret it. Opportunities like this are rare."

Li Wei looked at her silently, curiosity flickering in his eyes. "I'll think about it," he said finally. "For now… nothing changes."

"Fair," Su Yuxin said, a small, satisfied smile forming. "I wouldn't have it any other way."

Observing Subtle Martial Arts Skill

As he returned to work, Su Yuxin watched closely. Every turn of his body, every lift, every pivot on the warehouse floor was fluid, precise, controlled. His movements were like those of someone who had trained for years in martial arts: balance, core strength, reaction speed. Even in ordinary work, there was a quiet elegance, an almost invisible power.

She made a mental note: this man was far more than he seemed.

Su Yuxin left the warehouse. Li Wei resumed deliveries, calm and efficient, but aware of her presence, curious about the woman who had entered his life so boldly.

Zhang muttered under his breath but made no move to challenge her. Su Yuxin had demonstrated authority without raising her voice, and even a temperamental man like Zhang had no choice but to acknowledge it.

The interaction had planted a seed—one that Li Wei couldn't ignore. He hadn't accepted her offer, yet he hadn't rejected it either. A spark had ignited, subtle but undeniable.
