Selene sat alone in the dim room, the walls cold and unyielding.
Her fingers traced the edges of the blue ribbon she had tied in the little girl's hair so many years ago.
The child had cried, screamed, and fought… and yet, Selene had whispered calm lies, gentle enough to stop her panic, harsh enough to break her memory of the night everything changed. 🎬
"It was for her own good," Selene muttered to herself.
"If she remembers… if she remembers Feriha… it will destroy her. And it will destroy everything I've built for her."
Her mind drifted to that night; long ago,when she had taken the little sister from the burning house.
The girl clung to Feriha's arm, her blue ribbons fluttering in the chaos. Selin had felt a strange pang of longing, a memory of herself she couldn't place.

One gentle touch, one whispered phrase, and the little girl forgot the warmth of her older sister's hand, the smell of her parents, the fear and love of that night.
