Chapter 64 - Last battles start

"So you are saying we just enter?" Ray asked his companion with an amazed tone. In the past days, Lisa had been active to increase the mansion's size, and now both of them wanted to finish their job.

"Yeah, there are probably many traps in there, but that means one of them has lost most of her magic to give them a territorial advantage, so for now it's 2v2 in an area full of traps."

Ray walked to the stairs in the front of the mansion. "Fair, I will keep them alive until you reach." For Katarina to devour their brains, she needed to finish them herself, so they had agreed on it.

As he stepped into the fortress, the iron door behind him got closed by itself, and the voice of the woman from his previous encounter rang in the area, "You have come to your own grave."

"Alice is outside; take care." A massage from Katarina gave him the relief he needed to focus on his own enemies. Alice had hidden most of her powers in the previous encounter, and Ray didn't want to be put in that same situation again.

His eyes trailed over the black walls, with no decorations; only black walls and long, long hallways greeted him.

"I don't have time for your foolish games." Orcus appeared in his hand; the tip of the blade pierced through the wall easily as Ray started to run in the hallway.

From the walls, spikes grew instantly, trying to pierce his heart, but Ray with his wings was leagues faster than the speed of the spikes.

At the end of the hallway, an iron spider came out from the ground, carrying two sniper rifles on its back. "100 caliber bullets, not bad."

Ray's form twisted on its own as his body turned into a pureblood form; with no vampire around, he could use his magic at last.

Unlike most sniper rifles, the fire rate of the sniper on the spider's back could be matched with the modern machine guns even. The sound of gunshots filled the room, but none had any effect on Ray; all of them passed through his body.

Walls cracked open with an iron shield coming out to protect the spider, but very few materials on earth could withstand Orcus.

Spider in seconds had been cut into two even parts. Ray picked up the weapons on its back; although they had some problems, the main design was something that he could work around to improve.

"For you to control such a big building, you must be near me for thought consumption." Ray checked all the walls; they were the same as any normal wall.

He smirked, "If I continue destroying on my way, soon she will have to show herself."

Two blood hands shaped on his waist next to his wings; now that his mind exceeded 350 stats, he could do tasks with no mistake at the same time.

Ashbringer was summoned into the blood hand. Ray had been searching for a secondary weapon with a good bonus for some time, but in damage dealing, Ashbringer covered some of his weaknesses at long range.

All four of his hands started to attack anything in his path; he didn't care about precision or holding back. Iron spikes were destroyed before they could come out.

"He is just level 3; how the hell is this possible?" In a small room, Lisa stood with wires coming out of her head and connected to the wall. Her control over the fortress was absolute; the problem was with each part that was destroyed, she took some damage too.

For their plan, she was supposed to hold back Ray as Alice and Victor deal with the other girl. "I don't know how much longer I can hold this..." Blood flowed from her ears and nose.

The smell of one singular drop of blood sharpened Ray's senses; his direction changed to a corner of the building. "She is not even moving; from the outside, their plan could have worked." His slash became more fierce.

His idea of her magic changed: "She is not a crafter, just a puppet master." He had a deep respect for crafters; he was one to some extent, but a puppet master just controlled things that her magic created.

Soon, Ray broke the wall to the room that Lisa resided in. With no defenses around her, her state was still in a half-consciousness mode. Ray dismissed the hands as Orcus cut all the wires above her head.

"Oh no, you don't get to die for now." The fear of death showed itself on her face, but all Ray did was to shape a sphere out of blood around her body. It gave her body all the oxygen and nutrients that it needed to sustain itself, yet not enough for her to be awake.

"Their stupid plan was to double-gang on Katarina; what a stupid move." His wings carried him to the entrance again.

The landscape outside had changed; signs of fighting had destroyed the ceiling of the cave, and magma flowed from the sky, filling the ground. Meanwhile Katarina stood in the air with bare hands, fighting two enemies at the same time.

"Their situation is a deadlock; they can't do anything to her, and she can't do that either." Ray could sense Alice still hid some of her powers.

"Need a hand?" Ray yelled at them.

Katarina used the sudden surprise to kick Victor's face, sending him to the ground near Ray.

"You are late." A cross glowed above her head, giving her immense strength.

Her killing intent could reach new heights: "Let's finish this, dream girl."

Victor raised from the ground too; her body had transformed into a half bat, half human, with long dark wings and blinded eyes. Just like a bat, he could sense the surrounding area with sound waves; its efficiency was much greater than any normal eye.

"Vice General, this will be your end." His voice had changed more into an animal-like voice too.

Ray swung Orcus around his body as it started to rain blood, and rivers of blood cracked the earth around them.

"I would love to see you try."
