Chapter 33 - Chapter 33: Take a Burst First to Warm Up

The blocks around the Stark Industries workshop building had been turned into a complete mess by the battle between these two armor lunatics.

Seeing Corin make a move, Tony Stark finally let go of the worry in his heart.

He looked at the armor on his body that had been tortured into a tattered wreck by Iron Monger, and showed a bitter smile.

Dragging his exhausted body, Tony sat down in a corner by the wall. His eyes, filled with both anticipation and satisfaction, watched Iron Monger, who had been so high and mighty just now, getting beaten down in front of Corin.

"I've got to really enjoy this show. After all, the ticket cost two hundred million."

Tens of millions might not affect Tony much, but two hundred million still made his heart ache a little.

———

After punching Iron Monger flying, Corin did not rush to follow up.

After his body had been upgraded with a huge investment, even at only level 2 he already had more than 20 tons of strength, and this was his biggest reason for being able to stay elegant in front of Iron Monger.

Even if Iron Monger was heavier than Tony's armor, its weight still did not exceed 5 tons.

Corin was fully capable of handling it bare-handed.

Flexing his slightly numb fist, Corin had to sigh that Obadiah really lived up to being a top capital crocodile. The armor he had poured his heart into building was indeed pretty tough.

Don't be fooled by how Iron Monger had just been swaggering in front of Tony, forcing Tony into complete passivity.

Corin knew that was because the Mark 1 reactor on Tony's chest was outdated and couldn't provide enough energy for his new suit.

Otherwise, with Tony's IQ and capability, if the upgraded armor had enough power, who would be bullying who is still up in the air.

How could a fake knockoff ever surpass Tony's brain, which came with a built-in turbocharger by birth?

Thinking back on that enormous Marvel world, Corin laughed at Obadiah for being short-sighted and petty.

A suit made purely by stealing tech, apart from being big and hard, didn't have any function design that could really make people's eyes light up. On what basis did he think he could replace Tony?

You have to know, Tony is the man who will save the world in the future.

Corin raised his head to stare. Only after Iron Monger was blasted more than a hundred meters away did it finally remember to fire the thrusters to steady itself.

Thinking of the countless attack methods that Tony's later suits would have.

Then looking at the abilities he had right now, although he was confident he could use throwing knives to directly shatter Iron Monger, or dismantle it with close-quarters combat alone.

His attack methods were still too single.

'It's time to expand my fighting style a bit,' That was what Corin thought.

———

Up in the air, Obadiah snapped out of his daze like waking from a dream.

The damage data fed back by the armor told him there was no way that attack had been from Tony.

Only when the red circle on the screen locked onto a human figure did Obadiah's pupils shrink.

"It's Cockroach? I remember he's good at long-range attacks, right? How did he pull that off?"

No time to think it through, Obadiah realized that if he kept letting Iron Monger fly upward, he would end up icing over and falling again.

It's not like every time the system freezes and shuts down you can pull off a last-second reboot before hitting the ground.

His old bones really couldn't take this kind of high-altitude bungee jump without a rope anymore.

Turning all the thrusters on his body to maximum, he finally slowed the trend of continuing to shoot upward.

Iron Monger clumsily stabilized itself in midair.

Obadiah locked firmly onto Corin below, turned himself around, revved to full power, and dove, the Gatling gun aiming at Corin.

He stared at the on-screen prompt for firing range, and only when the red icon turned green did Obadiah shriek and pull the trigger.

"Damn bounty hunter! GO DIE FOR ME!"

The Gatling gun spun wildly, and the massive bullets poured down like rain over the area where Corin was standing.

In his enhanced vision, the incoming bullets were like jets from a shower head in a bathroom, blasting down over his head, vowing to tear the target to pieces.

Corin chose not to dodge, and there was even a trace of excitement in his eyes.

'I've been spectating for so long, my heart's been itching. It's finally my turn to go on stage.'

'This big turtle shell that is just perfect for me to use for some practice.'

'Let's take a burst of Gatling first to warm up.'

Ignoring the impact of the bullets, Corin calmly got ready to pick up the armor glove Tony had just taken off.

Feeling his body being constantly pierced by bullets and then instantly healing again, he thought it was amazing.

"Gotta say, after the upgrade I really haven't gotten much chance to enjoy this Deadpool-level regeneration."

Just as Corin bent over to pick something up, his lowered arm was suddenly blown off and broken by a bullet.

Watching his arm spinning away and falling to the side, Corin didn't feel any pain at all. He casually picked up the severed arm and pressed the two ends together.

The arm, which had turned bluish from blood loss, instantly reattached and came back full of life again. Unfortunately, the sleeve of his suit was torn off and couldn't sew itself back together.

"Sigh! I'll have to trouble Alyssa to buy another set again."

Putting on Tony's armored glove, he stretched his fingers a bit and was unexpectedly pleased with the fit.

The unique design inside the glove wrapped his palm perfectly, without any discomfort.

"Not bad at all."

Corin's desire to get himself a suit of armor grew even stronger.

The reason Iron Monger was so big and heavy had a lot to do with Obadiah's personality.

Aside from the weapons and ammunition in his own hands, he didn't trust anything else.

When developing Iron Monger, it was Obadiah who insisted that a Gatling gun had to be installed, and under his persistence they even put in a massive ammo storage bay inside the armor.

A Gatling gun with a firing rate of more than 100 rounds per second was enough to instantly destroy any carbon-based life form in its range, yet today it suffered a total failure.

Obadiah simply could not believe his eyes. At one point he even suspected that Iron Monger's display was malfunctioning.

Because under the Gatling's barrage, Corin… actually didn't die.

"Is he a monster?"

Tony, seeing Corin still strolling around leisurely under the shower of Gatling bullets, his repeatedly pierced body healing at a speed beyond imagination.

His expression went completely blank, "This monster!"

The battle in front of him made Obadiah develop a deep fear of Corin.

He didn't dare get close to Corin and chose instead to hover in midair, continuing to splash Corin with Gatling "water."

Corin had been waiting for Iron Monger to come closer, but then found out he'd chickened out.

He sighed lightly, "Where'd that arrogance from earlier go? Afraid to come over? Then I'll come to you."

Pushing off hard with his feet, his body shot toward Iron Monger like a cannonball.

The Gatling's barrels were already glowing red, and the bullets in the ammo bay had been completely emptied under the intense rate of fire.

Seeing the figure shoot toward him at high speed, Obadiah couldn't think of any good solution for the moment. All he could do was cross his iron arms in front of his chest to try to defend.

Clang!

A ring of miniature shockwaves rippled in the air as Corin's fist, wearing the armored glove, smashed into Iron Monger again.

Iron Monger's arms twisted and deformed the instant they met the iron fist, snapping open under the enormous force.

The heavy punch didn't lose any momentum and slammed directly into the area next to Iron Monger's chest reactor.

Crack!

Iron Monger's proud defenses didn't seem to be doing much good.

A huge dent appeared on its chest, and the immense pressure made Obadiah inside the armor spit out a mouthful of blood as he was sent flying into the sky again.

This time Corin didn't wait again. He flicked out a throwing knife and used it to accelerate his body as he gave chase.

This kind of close-quarters attack that combined flight and constant directional changes was Corin's first attempt, just right for him to get used to it.

Corin leaped past Iron Monger by nearly a hundred meters, then swung his hand to change direction again.

He threw three throwing knives in succession, not to attack, but just to speed up, a sonic boom exploded in the high sky as Corin's figure, moving at a speed almost impossible to see with the naked eye, slammed straight into Iron Monger with another punch.

BOOM!

The thick armor let out a wail under the heavy impact, and another huge dent appeared on the other side of Iron Monger's reactor.

"Hmm! That doesn't look very symmetrical."

Looking at the dents on Iron Monger's chest, Corin felt the placement was a bit off. This should have something to do with him not being fully familiar with using his abilities yet.

"Again!"

With his new combat mode unlocked, Corin was like someone who had just found a beloved toy, completely absorbed.

In the sky, Corin's figure darted around at high speed, only pausing for brief moments when he struck.

As for Iron Monger, at this point it looked like a pinball from some game, its flight path being passively changed over and over in the air.

The once shiny metal armor was gradually covered in cracks.
