Chapter 11 - The Divination Pavilion and Keqing

A few days later, a new establishment appeared in Liyue Harbor.

"Have you heard? There's a new shop that opened recently. It's called the Divination Pavilion, and they claim to be fortune tellers. Apparently, their predictions are always accurate, or they don't charge."

"Really? I've never heard of anything like that."

"Hey, why don't we go and see?"

"Let's go, let's go!"

Keqing happened to be returning from an errand when she passed through the marketplace, overhearing the lively discussion.

"The Divination Pavilion? What's that?" Keqing, intrigued, couldn't help but be curious after hearing snippets of the conversation.

"Always accurate? Claims to know everything under the heavens? I'll see if it's some charlatan or a scam artist."

Keqing's expression immediately turned serious. In her opinion, there was no such thing as a fortune telling that was always accurate.

In the past, there had been fake fortune tellers who used such tricks to commit fraud, so she didn't believe in it at all, thinking it was a scam that needed to be dealt with seriously.

Yun Yan considered that since he was going to establish a base in Liyue, it would be better to set up a place to gather information. After thinking about it, it seemed that he could use some methods of cultivators to understand information, so he opened a fortune-telling shop.

A signboard hung on the door, with the three golden characters "Divination Pavilion" written on it.

On the left side of the door was: "Divining all matters of the world's future." On the right side was: "Calculating the yin and yang, hearing the present and the past."

There was also a small sign standing at the door: "One divination per day, gold collected per divination, one hundred percent accurate, money refunded if inaccurate. Two things not divined: first, fortune; second, grudges."

A lot of people gathered at the door, but no one stepped forward to have their fortune told.

Sitting behind the fortune-telling table was Yun Yan. As for Xue Yue, she was cultivating upstairs.

Inside the shop, there was a tea table and chairs, specifically for entertaining acquaintances.

"Make way, make way!" A commotion came from outside the door. It was Keqing, leading a squad of the Qianyan Army.

"Who's the owner? Come out here for a moment," Keqing called out directly as she entered the shop without any courtesy.

"I am the owner. Is there something, Miss Keqing, that brings you and your troops here?" Yun Yan stood up and said.

"What? You claim to be able to predict anything and everything, and that your predictions are always accurate, but you don't know why I'm here?" Keqing said directly, her eyes fixed coldly on Yun Yan.

"Miss Keqing hasn't asked for a divination yet, so how can you define this place as a fraud?" Yun Yan raised an eyebrow, and then, without being polite, directly pointed out her purpose.

"That's interesting." Keqing frowned. This person actually knew who she was, and even knew her purpose? Did they really calculate it?

"Alright, I'll ask for a divination. How about you give me one?" Keqing thought for a moment, then said.

"Alright." Yun Yan nodded, then asked, "What do you want to have divined?"

"How about you divine my fortune for tomorrow?" Keqing asked directly.

"Sure." Yun Yan took out three copper coins and tossed them onto the table, silently casting a spell.

She glanced at the coins, then closed her eyes, the divination of Keqing's itinerary for the next day appearing in her mind after the spell was cast.

Keqing watched her actions, feeling curious, but didn't believe Yun Yan could actually divine anything, since she hadn't verified it herself.

"Danger in travel, see blood but not be harmed, turn misfortune into good fortune, achieve your wish." Yun Yan opened her eyes and said to Keqing, "This is the divination you requested."

"Speak plainly." Keqing frowned.

"Tomorrow, you will experience a bloody disaster, but you will be unharmed, and you will achieve your goal." Yun Yan explained calmly.

"Heh, if I don't experience what you've predicted tomorrow, your shop won't be able to stay open, and you'll be in jail." Keqing sneered, then got up to leave.

"Wait a moment, Miss Keqing. Since the divination has been performed, please leave the fee, ten thousand Mora." Yun Yan, however, called out to her without any panic.

Keqing was taken aback, then gritted her teeth and said, "I hope you can be this calm tomorrow." After saying that, she tossed down the Mora and left with the Qianyan Army.

Seeing her swift and decisive manner, it was certain she would come looking for trouble if the divination wasn't accurate tomorrow.

But Yun Yan wasn't at all flustered. After all, the methods of cultivators were naturally effective, especially for those whose strength was lower than his own.

Yun Yan had already calculated the outcome, and even if the other party tried every means to change it, they would ultimately achieve the final result because of their attempts to change it. If they didn't try to change it, the final result would still appear.

In short, no matter the process, the outcome was already predetermined.

"Today's divination is complete. If you still wish to have your fortune told, please come again tomorrow."

Yun Yan addressed the crowd of onlookers outside the door.

Those people had witnessed quite a show today. After all, Keqing was one of the Liyue Qixing. Keqing, a decisive figure in Liyue, and everyone had clearly heard her conversation with Yun Yan just now. As for the outcome, they would see tomorrow.

There were two possible outcomes. One was that the divination was inaccurate, and the Divination Pavilion would be finished. The other was that the divination was accurate, and from then on, people seeking fortune-telling would come in an endless stream.

No one would suspect Keqing and Yun Yan were in cahoots to deceive people. It was a joke! Everyone in Liyue knew Keqing's identity. She hated evil and was decisive, a nightmare for countless Treasure Hoarders and Fatui.

Back at her residence, Keqing thought about what Yun Yan had said. Although she didn't quite believe it, she was secretly considering how to prevent such a prophecy from occurring.

Keqing understood what Yun Yan meant: experiencing a bloodbath without being affected herself. This could mean that someone close to her would be the one to suffer, and she had to find a way to prevent it.

Just as she was thinking this, a knock sounded at the door.

"Lady Keqing, Miss Ningguang requests your presence at the Jade Chamber."

"Ningguang, what is it?" Keqing asked, arriving at the Jade Chamber.

"This is the message Yelan sent. Take a look." Ningguang handed over a piece of paper.

Keqing glanced at it, her expression turning cold. "These rats, always scheming from the shadows, truly seek death."

"That's the situation. They've hijacked a merchant convoy and are even holding hostages for ransom," Ningguang said calmly.

"And what do you plan to do?" Keqing asked.

"Tomorrow, you will take a squad of the Qianyan Army. Remember to capture them alive if possible. They wouldn't dare do this normally; someone must be behind it," Ningguang considered, then said.

"Alright." Keqing didn't hesitate, immediately turning to leave.

"Wait a moment." Ningguang called out to her.

"Is there anything else?"

"Take this sword with you. I got it from a certain adeptus; it should suit you well." Ningguang produced a sword from behind her.

"This is...?" Keqing took it and examined it carefully, testing its feel. Surprisingly, it felt very comfortable in her hand.

"It's called Flowing Clouds. Take it with you; it might come in handy tomorrow." Ningguang said to Keqing.

"This..." Keqing hesitated slightly; she didn't want to owe Ningguang a favor.

"Take it. The sword is useless to me. Besides, you go on a lot of missions. How about this: after you complete this mission, it'll be your extra reward." Ningguang knew what she was thinking and spoke directly.

"Alright," Keqing said, nodding in agreement and accepting the sword. After all, the weapon did seem to suit her.

Watching Keqing's departing figure, Ningguang lowered her head to look at the note, staring at a name and pondering something.
