Jennie has never paid attention to how many problems her house had regarding pipes and electricity. The faucet in the kitchen was the main problem, but now that was fixed, Jennie tried to find other issues as an excuse to bring the plumber back.
She went on a hunt.
And boy, did she find plenty.
For starters, summer is around the corner, which means they will be using the air conditioner to keep the house cool. She turned it on briefly to see how cold the air could get. Not as cold as she wanted, and the damn thing would make weird noises like it was going to explode.
So, there's one.
Another issue was the shower's water pressure. It's a little picky of her because it works just fine, but not at the level she wants. By the time she would finish showering, the water would take forever to drain.
Two for two.
It just so happens that the refrigerator keeps shutting down.
Going for three.
Finally, the last one was the washing machine. It's not entirely dysfunctional, but it's on the verge of breaking down.
Jackpot.
There are so many maintenance requests to keep the hot plumber visiting her home while her husband is gone.
It's borderline dangerous for both Jennie and [Y/N].
For starters, Jennie can't keep her hormones in check and wants to keep drooling over [Y/N] as she fixes her home. She's like a cat in heat, playing with her prey before she goes in for the kill. Her marriage is already down the road for divorce, so why not have a little fun?
But then it has her thinking about whether [Y/N] is comfortable with being ogled like some piece of meat. Jennie has never had a thought of flirting with an employee and throwing suggestive comments here and there. She really hopes that [Y/N] won't send another plumber in her place if she does get uncomfortable.
The last thing she wants is to be sued for sexual harassment and a restraining order on her records.
Oh, well.
If she has to serve time in jail to be away from her lazy husband, then so be it.
Or maybe [Y/N] won't act upon it since she's afraid of Jennie filing a complaint for unprofessional behavior and getting her fired.
But that won't happen.
Unable to shake off the excitement in her bones, Jennie dials the plumbing company's phone number again. After two rings, someone picks up and Jennie informs them about the air conditioner's inability to cool the room. The employee lets her know that their plumber will be on their way.
Jennie prays to whoever is up there that it'll be the [h/c]-haired female plumber.
A few knocks on the door interrupt her daydream.
Skipping over to the door, she looks through the peephole and sighs in relief.
Thank the lord!
Jennie opens the door and flashes her best smile. "Hi, good to see you again."
"Likewise. What seems to be the problem this time, ma'am?" [Y/N] asks in her usual monotone voice.
My sex life.
"The shower head isn't working properly," Jennie replies. "And please call me 'Jennie.' I feel old when you call me ma'am."
[Y/N] nods her head. "Understood."
Jennie leads the plumber to the personal bathroom in her bedroom. She suddenly becomes hyperaware of how messy it is, thanks to her lazy husband's morning routine. Dried specks of water and toothpaste cover the mirror, his shaving gel is thrown carelessly by the sink, his razor has bits of hair stuck to it, and his used towels and dirty clothes scatter the tiled floor.
Not a good impression.
Jennie's face burns in embarrassment as she starts cleaning up the place to make room for the plumber. "I'm so sorry for the mess. It's my husband. I swear I'm cleaner."
[Y/N] purses her lips and awkwardly nods in reassurance. "It's fine."
Jennie throws the garments in the hamper and tries to clean the best she can. It won't matter since [Y/N] isn't here to critique her bathroom interior; she's here to fix the drains.
"What part of the shower head is bothering you?"
"The pressure isn't the best, and the tub fills up too quickly. It takes forever for the water to drain."
[Y/N] nods and opens her toolbox. "Okay. I can fix it."
"In the meantime, do you want water and snacks?" Jennie offers.
"You don't have to, but I'd appreciate it," she replies.
Say less.
In the kitchen, Jennie goes through a routine of making the best snack plate for her plumber. She cuts up fruits, adds crackers and cookies, and organizes them like they're from a five-star restaurant. When she returns to the bedroom, [Y/N] is setting out the tools she needs for this task on the sink counter.
"I'll leave them on the bed since I don't think you'd want to eat in the bathroom," Jennie says.
[Y/N] chuckles. "Yeah, that's fine. I'll eat them once I'm done here."
"And here's some water in case you get thirsty," Jennie adds as she hands her a plastic bottle.
"Thank you." [Y/N] smiles and sets the water bottle aside.
