Chapter 83: 100. Like a Demon Descending from the Heavens, a God of Chaos in the Mortal World
In the Divine Realm, within the Asura God Palace—
The Asura God's expression darkened as he watched the Clear Sky Sect disciples hurl themselves toward Tang Hao like moths to a flame. Their mouths spewed vile insults toward his precious treasure, and anger surged through the god.
"This is the treasure I carefully selected," he growled coldly. "Very well, Clear Sky Sect—you've chosen the road to death."
He then increased both the influence and amplification of his Asura Domain upon Tang Hao.
Once, Tang Hao's Clear Sky Hammer had been raised only against Spirit Hall—against his enemies.
Underneath it had fallen countless Spirit Hall soul masters, and every swing thrilled him. That intoxicating rush of adrenaline—the ecstasy of slaughter—had always fueled him.
But here, in the blood-soaked chaos of Sky Valley Ridge, Tang Hao felt no joy at all.
Because this time, beneath his hammer were the disciples of his own Clear Sky Sect. Every strike deepened his guilt and misery.
"Why? Why do you all force me to this?" Tang Hao roared in anguish as he crushed another sect disciple. His voice echoed like a tortured soul.
"Why? Tang Hao, when you butchered our brothers, did you ask us why?!" one Soul Saint shouted, charging forward to strike at Ah Yin. Before he could even approach, Tang Hao's hammer smashed him into pulp.
"The honor of the Clear Sky Sect is absolute! Even in death, I'll slay that beast child and erase this stain from our name!" cried a Soul Douluo elder. Knowing his end was near, he charged into Tang Hao's killing field and self-destructed—hoping his explosive blast might at least kill the child in Tang Hao's arms.
But the barrier of the Killing God Domain absorbed the blast entirely.
Then the three remaining Titled Douluo entered the blood-red domain without hesitation.
"Tang Hao! Today only one of us leaves this valley alive! Even in death, I'll kill that beast in your arms!" roared Tang Po. Stepping through the domain's haze, he unleashed his ninth soul skill: Heaven-Shattering Strike. His hammer came crashing down toward Tang Hao and Tang San, intending to kill the baby with the aftershock.
"Don't you dare hurt my son!" Tang Hao's blood-red eyes glowed. His breathing was heavy and feral as he gripped his hammer with both hands and slammed it against Tang Po.
Caught completely unprepared, Tang Po was sent flying.
"My rings be damned—I'll kill you, you seductive monster!" bellowed Tang Mie, rushing at Ah Yin and swinging his hammer downward.
"Ah Yin!" Tang Hao roared. In a blur, he charged in front of her, his fist glowing crimson as killing intent gathered around it. He punched straight at Tang Mie's descending hammer.
A shatter rang out—the hammer cracked like breaking glass, a web of fractures spreading from the point of impact before it exploded apart.
Tang Hao had just blocked a grandmaster's top-tier weapon martial soul with his bare hand. To any onlooker, it looked as though Tang Hao's own body was a weapon soul.
As his martial soul broke, Tang Mie spat a mouthful of blood.
"This… this isn't human!" he gasped, blood streaming from his lips.
"Beast child, die!" Tang Zhe snarled. While Tang Hao was still focused on Tang Mie, Tang Zhe hurled his hammer straight at baby Tang San.
"Don't touch my son!" Tang Hao had gone completely berserk. He summoned a second Clear Sky Hammer and threw it like a raging meteor.
It collided with Tang Zhe's hammer, crushing it piece by piece before smashing into Tang Zhe himself, driving him backward and sending him flying.
Tang Po clutched his chest, wiping blood from his mouth as he lay among shattered rocks, glaring hatefully at Tang Hao.
Tang Mie staggered up, leaning against a boulder, coughing more blood as he stared daggers at him.
Tang Zhe dragged himself from the rubble of a shattered cliff, his chest caved in from the blow, gasping weakly but still glaring.
Inside the bloody domain, the surviving disciples stopped moving. They could only stare, trembling, at the lone figure standing amidst carnage.
At that moment, it was as if an invincible anthem thundered through the heavens.
Tang Hao, covered head to toe in blood, held Tang San in one arm and pulled Ah Yin close with the other. Around him lay the dismembered corpses of his sect brothers. His entire body glowed with a crimson aura, pulsing like a living flame.
He threw back his head and let out a primal scream—half man, half beast.
"AAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!"
Then he bellowed at the heavens, "I never wanted to hurt you! But I will never hand over Ah Yin and Tang San! Why—why must you force me, even in death?!"
The sheer murderous might radiating from him froze every onlooker's blood.
Far away, Tang Lie—who had once sworn vengeance—felt all hatred drain from him, replaced by awe and terror. Only one thought remained to describe Tang Hao's form now: He's like a demon descending from the heavens, a god of calamity walking the mortal world.
Tang Zhe turned to the other two elders. "Do you still have strength left to fight?"
"Barely," Tang Po muttered, rising to his feet.
Tang Mie wiped the blood from his mouth. "Even if it costs my life, I will destroy that cursed child. Tang Hao—today, you die or I do."
Tang Zhe drew in a deep breath and soared into the air. "Form the Clear Sky Battle Array!"
Following his command, the three elders rose together. The surviving disciples took their positions, channeling their soul power upward. A vast blue formation appeared over the canyon, clashing violently with Tang Hao's crimson domain.
The power of the elders surged again under the array's amplification. All three charged together, hammers raised high.
"Clear Sky Nine Arts—Strike of Destruction!"
"Clear Sky Nine Arts—Strike of Shatter!"
"Ninth Soul Skill—Heaven-Shattering Strike!"
Two aimed for Tang Hao and Tang San; the third lunged directly at Ah Yin.
A flicker of pain crossed Tang Hao's eyes. He closed them briefly, then opened them filled with ruthless resolve. "I didn't want this—but you've forced my hand."
He gripped the Clear Sky Hammer tight, detonating all his soul rings one after another. The exploding rings turned into pure soul energy, merging into his weapon.
"Great Sumeru Hammer!"
He leapt into the sky, meeting all three head-on.
One swing—Tang Mie's hammer shattered, his body thrown back like a broken doll.
Another swing—Tang Po was smashed into the ground, carving a crater beneath him.
A third swing—Tang Zhe was flung into a cliff, the mountain wall collapsing as his body was buried into the stone.
With the final blow, the blue array shattered, consumed entirely by blood-red light. The remaining Clear Sky disciples were swallowed by the killing aura. None survived.
When Tang Hao finally landed, his hammer shrank and disappeared into his hand once more.
Tang Po pointed weakly at him. "Tang Hao… you monster… even if I die, my soul will never forgive you." Then he breathed his last.
Tang Mie, bleeding out beside him, used his final breath to curse, "Your hands are forever stained with your kin's blood. Even if you could dye the seas red, you'll never wash the sin away. For thousands of years, the name Tang Hao will stand for betrayal and butchery." His head slumped, lifeless.
Tang Zhe, clinging to his final breaths, glared upward. "All this… for a soul beast? Does your heart not ache? Don't you hear your hammer crying? When you die, Tang Hao, how will you face the ancestors of the Clear Sky Sect…" With that, his eyes went dark, and his body fell still.
