Chapter 50: Wu Zhangkong: All Three of You, Come at Me!

"You three—come at me together."

Wu Zhangkong's voice was calm as still water. His spirit power, suppressed to Rank 29, radiated an oppressive chill.

Though he now stood at the same level as his students, his combat experience was in a whole other realm. Shrek Academy's teaching methods might be extreme, but their results were unquestionable—every graduate had walked through hell and survived.

Jiang Chen exchanged a glance with Little Snow Empress. Both silently stepped back with Gu Yue, letting the rest of the class take the lead.

"Yun'er," Jiang Chen called casually, "don't slack off. It's been ages since you've fought—go test your strength."

Before she could hide behind him, Huo Yun'er found herself unceremoniously grabbed and tossed onto the field.

"All that forging's making you soft. Go get some practice in. That's an order."

"Ancestor, I hate you!" she screamed as she stumbled into position.

One teacher versus thirty-two students—or rather, twenty-nine now.

On paper, the advantage favored the class. But everyone knew better.

He was from Shrek Academy. That name alone meant one thing: invincible among peers.

They might not win, but if they could earn the teacher's approval, it would be worth it.

"Let's go!"

Wei Xiaofeng's serpentine martial soul, the Azure Shadow Snake, manifested first. His dream was to join Shrek, and if he could impress this teacher, his path might become clear.

Tang Wulin followed eagerly. Ever since awakening the Golden Dragon King bloodline, he'd been dying for a real fight.

His first yellow soul ring blazed to life.

"First Soul Skill—Blue Silver Bind!"

Golden-veined Blue Silver Grass erupted from the ground, coiling around Wu Zhangkong's legs and spreading rapidly.

Wu Zhangkong struggled slightly, noting the unusual strength of the vines. A variant Blue Silver Grass born from a unique bloodline… no wonder it's so tough.

"Got him!" Tang Wulin shouted excitedly. "Everyone, attack now!"

"Second Soul Skill—Swift Assault!"

Wei Xiaofeng sprang forward like lightning, his snake form blurring into the air.

Xie Xie wasn't far behind. His Light Dragon Dagger gleamed as he dashed forward, striking from the shadows like a seasoned assassin.

Wu Zhangkong simply stood there, still bound by the vines, his expression unchanged.

Then, with a flash of icy-blue light—

Clang, clang, clang!

His sword, the Skyfrost Blade, sang three times. The group's attacks shattered harmlessly midair.

Xie Xie stared in disbelief. "Wait… that's supposed to be Rank 29 power?"

Wei Xiaofeng's eyes twitched. No way this man was really holding back.

Sensing his students' frustration, Wu Zhangkong ignored their disbelief. He was already analyzing every one of them.

"Impressive. Very well executed," he murmured.

Two more students stepped forward—Wang Jinxi and Zhang Yangzi—their coordination nearly flawless.

Both possessed top-grade martial souls—the Bone Dragon King and the Fallen Shadow Crow.

"First Soul Skill—Dark Sky Curtain!"

"First Soul Skill—Bone Dragon Claw!"

The world dimmed. An aura of oppressive darkness engulfed both teacher and students as a spectral dragon claw burst through the gloom.

Wu Zhangkong's eyes brightened. Now this—this is real teamwork.

From their seamless coordination, he could tell—they had the potential for a Martial Soul Fusion Skill.

Smiling faintly, he whispered, "So you have a Fusion Anchor between you. Not bad."

Fusion techniques weren't just powerful—they were gateways to endless potential, enabling exponential acceleration in training.

Even Xie Xie's twin companion souls, impressive as they were, couldn't replicate that synergy. His two spirits drew from the same core—they couldn't evolve independently the way true dual martial souls could.

After all, genuine twin souls could be cultivated separately, raising one to the Titled Douluo level before beginning the second—using higher-ranked spirit rings right from the start. The difference was astronomical.

Still, for Wang Jinxi and Zhang Yangzi, this was already a major step forward—a key that could one day open Shrek's gates.

"Good," Wu Zhangkong said quietly as he deflected the incoming strike. "But not good enough."

"First Soul Skill—Frost Scar!"

A frigid wave of blue radiance cut through the darkness, forming a crystalline barrier that shattered the incoming Dragon Claw effortlessly.

"Continue."

His tone was flat, detached.

Wei Xiaofeng, still brimming with pride, refused to accept it.

"Second Soul Skill—Azure Serpent Fang!"

The snake's crimson jaws lunged aggressively.

Wu Zhangkong moved just once—his sword thrust silent and clean.

The serpent shattered into motes of light.

He frowned slightly. "Don't be misled by visual perception, Tang Wulin. Your vines fool you. You only see what I want you to see."

Tang Wulin froze, paling as realization struck.

That momentary illusion—he'd been completely misled.

"I understand, Teacher," he answered quickly, bowing respectfully.

Wu Zhangkong gave a rare nod. "Good. Those two in the back—I acknowledge your coordination. But a fusion technique's recovery period is too long. Don't rely on it excessively."

Then he turned sharply toward Wei Xiaofeng.

"Wei Xiaofeng, isn't it? Attacking blindly before gauging your opponent's strength? Rushing in headfirst like that could have gotten you killed."

Wei Xiaofeng stood there, feeling as if a giant red mark labeled "FOOL" hung above his head.

Humbled, he glanced aside—and caught sight of Tang Wulin smiling faintly.

Impossible. He was not weaker than Tang Wulin!

Ignoring the boy's resentment, Wu Zhangkong's icy gaze shifted to the back of the line.

Three figures stood there quietly.

"You three. What are you waiting for? Come forward."

Jiang Chen scratched his head, expression a mix of irritation and amusement. "Teacher, are you sure? You want us three to fight you?"

He glanced meaningfully at his companions. "You're asking to face the Silver Dragon King, the Snow Empress, and the Evil God Tiger together?"

Wu Zhangkong raised an eyebrow, unimpressed.

"Jiang Chen, Gu Yue, Xue'er—you're all Rank 29, correct? Don't let it make you arrogant. Levels don't mean everything."

He pointed his sword toward them.

"Now then—show me what you've got."

"Come at me—all three of you."
