Lara's POV
The sneer in Glenda's voice cuts through the dining hall chatter like a blade. She approaches our table with calculated steps, her eyes fixed on the note Alan left me.
"It didn't take you long to find a replacement for poor Austin, did it, Lara?"
Her hand darts toward the folded paper, but Faith's fork crashes down onto the table with deadly precision, missing Glenda's fingers by mere inches. The metallic clang echoes through the sudden silence around us.
"Careful, Glenda. That's a good way to lose your fingers," Faith's voice drops to a threatening growl.
Glenda's face twists with rage. "You're a fucking bitch."
"Don't be jealous just because I'm getting fucked by a hot guy and no one wants to touch your skanky pussy," Faith fires back, her sneer matching Glenda's earlier expression.
I can't help the snort that escapes me as I try to stifle my laughter. Several other students around us make similar sounds, clearly enjoying the verbal sparring match.
