Deon's POV
Chester still refuses to answer my calls and my patience has reached its breaking point. I grip the phone tighter, feeling the urge to crush it in my palm.
"Deon, my pack hasn't fully recovered from Joseph's last assault. Chester is probably still licking his wounds. You mentioned he lost his Beta, correct?" Demetrius's voice comes through the speaker.
"That's no damn excuse. I promised him we'd retrieve his Beta, but I can't deliver on that promise if he won't pick up his phone so we can coordinate," I snap back.
"What's your next move?" Demetrius asks.
"I've dispatched some of my warriors to his territory. They'll motivate him to answer when I call."
"When we launch our attack, we're securing the doctor woman, right?" he presses.
"Absolutely. She needs to be taken alive. We require her services," I respond, rubbing my temples where a headache is forming.
"We require her? I was under the impression she was mine," he says with an edge to his voice.
