"Do you know his password?" Jamie asked.
The phone vibrated again in Jamie's hand, the constant buzzing sharp against the quiet of the hospital hallway. The sound felt intrusive, almost aggressive, as if the device itself was demanding to be noticed.
"No," Soren said. His eyes remained fixed on the screen as it lit up once more. The name at the top made his chest tighten. He didn't look at Jamie when he spoke.
"Do you think it's something important?" Jamie asked.
Soren hesitated. The vibration continued, steady and relentless. "I mean, yes," he said slowly. "It's coming from his manager." He paused, then added, almost without thinking, "Swipe up. Maybe he doesn't have a password."
Jamie scoffed lightly. "No way."
Still, he reached for the phone.
His thumb moved across the screen.
The phone unlocked immediately.
No delay. No prompt. No resistance at all.
