Lyra took one look at the sheets in Eloise's hands and lightly clicked her tongue.
"These belong to Lady Ashelia," she explained, taking the sheets gently. "I had washed them and set them out to dry, but it slipped my mind. Please send my gratitude to Mrs. Faye, and thank you for bringing these to me, Eloise."
"There's no need, Miss Lyra. I was only doing as I was told," Eloise replied.
Lyra smiled. "I appreciate it then, some of the maids can be disobedient," she said, then studied Eloise for a moment. "I hope life in the manor has been treating you well?"
Eloise was the only daughter of a fallen Baron in the Wynford Duchy. She had been taken in as a maid by Duke Orlan, as a gesture of goodwill toward one of his loyal vassals.
She also knew that Eloise was a mhute, someone who couldn't wield magic or possessed any mana which was a rare occurrence in the kingdom, especially noble households but not uncommon in the Orlan manor, where mhute's were taken in as servants.
