Chapter 2 - IN THE CLASSROOM

Chapter 2

"Tyrus?! What?! How?!" The teacher was speechless, seeing Tyrus, her once-favorite student, now back from the dead.

"I'll explain later. Come on, Tyrus," Miss Victoria said, leading him into the classroom.

As the students noticed Tyrus, their eyes widened, and jaws dropped in astonishment.

Stopping in the classroom's center, Miss Victoria addressed the stunned students. "You all know him as Tyrus. He was thought to be dead for three months but actually survived. However, he's suffering from amnesia."

The classroom fell silent.

'Wow... Just like my world. Everyone's here.' Tyrus thought, recognizing familiar faces. Yet, they felt different, like strangers.

"Tyrus's alive?" The students muttered to each other, some relieved, others concerned.

"You know where to go after classes?" Miss Victoria asked Tyrus, who nodded.

"Good. See you then."

Miss Victoria left without another word, leaving the room silent.

"Um... Where should I sit?" Tyrus asked the teacher, snapping her out of her daze.

She pointed to a seat, and Tyrus thanked her before heading there.

'Same seat as before...' Tyrus noted.

"So, Tyrus, what do you remember?" the teacher asked, breaking the silence.

Tyrus pondered before replying calmly, "My name, being a student here, and some lessons. But that's it."

The teacher sighed. "I'm Professor Yolanda, your homeroom teacher, also teaching Math and English. Just call me Yolanda. Formalities aren't my thing."

"Got it. Nice to meet you, Yolanda," Tyrus smiled.

The classroom fell silent again.

"If you need help, come to me. And don't worry if you can't follow along. Just do your best," Yolanda assured Tyrus, given his amnesia.

She started the Math class, but the students couldn't focus, all eyes on Tyrus, who was supposed to be dead.

Tyrus, relieved to understand the lesson, silently followed along. Despite his otherworldly situation, he was determined to excel in his studies.

Midway through class, Yolanda surprised everyone, asking Tyrus to solve a problem.

Tyrus calmly agreed, stunning everyone. He solved it effortlessly, returning to his seat without a word.

'Correct...' Yolanda marveled, disbelief in her eyes.

Tyrus's unexpected academic prowess was a shock, considering the 'Tyrus' of this world struggled academically.

"Correct," Yolanda confirmed, teaching with newfound motivation.

As class ended, Yolanda left for the teachers' lounge, bursting with news of Tyrus's return.

"Huh? Tyrus's alive?" The teachers were taken aback.

"Yolanda, the one who died a few months back?" one asked for clarification.

"Yes, that Tyrus! He's back!"

Excitement filled the room until Yolanda added, "But he has amnesia and lost his strength."

The room fell silent again.

Meanwhile, in class, Tyrus tried to ignore the curious stares, focusing on his notebook.

His classmates approached, asking questions.

"What have you been doing?" one asked.

"Still fuzzy, but I ended up here somehow," Tyrus replied.

"Do you remember your 'death'? We were all shocked," another said.

Tyrus narrowed his eyes. 'How did the school know I was dead without finding my body?'

Curious, he asked about the "Life Tablet."

"It tracks your life. If you die, it stops working. All students have one," they explained.

"I see..."

"Even with amnesia, it's good to have you back, Tyrus!"

"Right? You were our hope!"

Tyrus swallowed nervously, realizing his significance in this world.

Their next class began, Tyrus's return reverberating through the school.

"Tyrus's back!"

"How did he survive?"

"Will he still be strong?"

Excitement and anticipation filled the air.

In the elite classes, news of Tyrus's return spread.

"Gianna, Tyrus's alive!" one exclaimed.

"W-What?" Gianna, a beautiful young lady, was stunned.

"Sword Emperor Tyrus! You forgot about him?" another teased.

"Hey! Gianna's with Joseph now!" another chimed in.

"Huh? Since when?" confusion rippled through the conversation.

Gianna sat dazed as Tyrus's return brought forth a whirlwind of emotions.

"Tyrus has amnesia. Maybe he won't remember you," another speculated.

Joseph remained silent, his gaze fixed on Gianna.

'Tyrus... Why now?' he wondered, knowing their lives were about to change.

As word of Tyrus's return spread across the academy, he remained focused on his classes, unaware of the impact his presence had on the school and its students.

At the end of each class, students from nearby rooms would rush to glimpse Tyrus, unable to enter but peering through the door and windows.

"Wow! It's true! Tyrus's really alive!"

"He looks like Tyrus, but something's different. He doesn't seem as strong, and his aura's gone."

"Well, he has amnesia. He's Tyrus, but not really until he remembers everything."

"How long will that take?"

"Who knows."

Tyrus pretended not to notice the students outside, continuing to learn about this world and 'Tyrus' from classmates eager to help him remember.

"Can you tell me about myself? Before I lost my memories?"

"Sure. Should we start from the beginning?"

"Okay." He nodded.

The students recounted Tyrus's achievements since starting school.

"When you first came, bullying was rampant. No one fought back except you."

"Yeah! You were unbeatable, earning the nickname 'Sword Emperor Tyrus'!"

"Sword Emperor Tyrus? Sounds like something from a fantasy."

"You've won tournaments, even against vampires! You're the pride of the knights here."

"Vampires?" Tyrus raised an eyebrow.

"Yeah, they're tough. But you're tougher."

"Oh, you have a witch girlfriend too."

"A girlfriend?" Tyrus's eyes widened.

"Gianna. She's elite."

"Gianna..." Tyrus repeated, stunned.

'Gianna, my girlfriend? No way!' He thought.

In his old world, Gianna was admired, but he'd never spoken to her.

Now, he realized the stark contrast between his life and 'Tyrus's'.

'Envious...' Tyrus sighed inwardly.

As the final class ended, Tyrus prepared to leave.

"Let's talk more!"

"Sorry, I promised Miss Victoria I'd see her. Maybe tomorrow."

After waving, Tyrus left for the infirmary.

But the hallways were crowded with students eager to see him.

"Oh my god, it's Tyrus!"

Most were fans thrilled to see him alive.

Then, a familiar voice rang out aggressively.

"Move, trash!"

"Threatening to use magic?!" The crowd parted.

Tyrus recognized the bully, Koji, from his old world.

"Fight me, Tyrus!"

"Sorry, who are you? I have amnesia."

"I don't care! Fight me!"

"Later, I'm busy."

"Fight now or else!"

Tyrus clenched his fists. 'Fine, but not now.'

The students fell silent as Tyrus agreed to fight in a month.

"What's stopping me from beating you now?" Koji sneered.

Just then, Gianna arrived with elite classmates.

"Move, please," she said calmly.

Defeated, Koji left.

Tyrus sighed in relief.

But then Joseph, Gianna's boyfriend, confronted him.

"Do you remember me?"

"No, sorry."

Gianna's pained expression made Tyrus walk away.

'Even in this world, she's beautiful...'

Tyrus decided not to continue a past life's relationship.

After leaving, Gianna's demeanor changed, and she spoke to Joseph.

"I'm fine now. Tyrus may be alive, but the Tyrus I loved is still gone."

Joseph smiled, relieved.

At the infirmary, Miss Victoria scolded Tyrus for being late.

"Sorry, Koji challenged me."

"What? Stay low-key!"

"He threatened me! And I agreed to fight him in a month."

"Koji's top 200. Train with me."

Tyrus agreed, nervous but determined.
