Chapter 21: Follower Riven
The most perfect answer isn't to give the other person the solution, but for them to find it themselves after following their inner heart.
As Lynn asked his question, Raven opened her mouth, her mind completely blank.
Her future? What kind of person did she want to be?
No one had ever asked her such a question, and before today, she was still an experimental subject, praying every day to survive, yet also wishing she would die during the experiments.
In fact, before today, she didn't even know what hope was.
She stared blankly at Lynn, then shook her head woodenly.
"I don't know."
Lynn narrowed his eyes, a smile appearing on his face, and extended his hand to Raven.
"Come, I'll take you somewhere."
Raven didn't hesitate at all, immediately grasping Lynn's hand.
"So warm..."
She murmured, completely unable to resist the feeling.
The next moment, her vision blurred, and she appeared in an unfamiliar place.
Sunlight, grass... Raven's heart jumped, but she gripped Lynn's hand even tighter: "Where is this place?"
Lynn smiled as he looked at Raven: "A new World."
"A new World?"
Raven looked at the strange place, finding Lynn's words somewhat difficult to comprehend.
Lynn released Raven's hand.
"You can go and see for yourself."
Although Raven was a bit puzzled, she still nodded.
She walked past Wolverine, who was planted in the grass, and continued straight ahead.
But not long after, she reached the end.
The end?
How could there be an end?
Raven reached out and touched, feeling as if an invisible wall was blocking her way.
A look of confusion appeared on her face, and she turned to walk in the opposite direction.
A moment later, she was again blocked by an invisible wall.
"This is..."
A bold idea surfaced in Raven's mind.
She quickly walked along the invisible wall, and when she spent some time returning to her starting point, she finally confirmed her thoughts.
This World is small, this World was created by Lynn!
Lynn quietly appeared behind Raven, smiling as he said: "That's right, just as you thought, this is a newly 'born' New World."
He patted the invisible wall, and a chaotic expanse appeared before Raven's eyes.
After he completed the Lake of Faith, he hid the chaos beyond the Inner World's boundary; without his permission, no one could see the chaos beyond the Inner World's boundary.
Raven fearfully took a step back, but a pair of hands pressed onto her shoulders.
"Don't be afraid, that is the future of this World."
Lynn said softly, and with a swipe of his hand along the edge of the Inner World, the chaotic expanse disappeared again.
Watching all this, Raven was silent for a moment, and when she turned to look at Lynn, a glimmer of light seemed to appear in her eyes.
"What are you going to do?"
Her tone was somewhat eager, as if she longed for Lynn's answer.
A faint smile appeared on Lynn's face, and he said softly: "How about turning this into a bigger World, where Mutants can live freely?"
The light in Raven's eyes suddenly filled them, and she seemed to be ignited, nodding firmly at Lynn.
"I'll help you!"
She didn't even consider whether Lynn could do it, or if he was deceiving her.
Lynn chuckled softly, and said to Raven: "No, this is not just helping me, but helping the entire Mutant community, and also helping yourself."
Hearing this, Raven was stunned.
"You're right!"
At this moment, she seemed to have found the meaning of life, and found a future worth fighting for.
"What can I do?"
Raven asked impatiently, eager to realize the beautiful future immediately.
Lynn smiled slightly, and said gently: "This newborn World needs believers, it needs the power of faith; as long as there is enough power of faith, this place will become a bigger World."
Believers and the power of faith?
Raven's eyes narrowed, and she looked at Lynn in shock.
"You... are a god?"
"Perhaps."
Lynn's expression was somewhat mysterious, and to Raven, this vague answer was already a tacit admission.
After all, only gods would need the power of faith, right?
Raven looked at Lynn, as if she saw light radiating from him, the light of hope that put her heart at ease.
The one who saved her was Lynn.
The one who gave her hope was Lynn.
The one who found her purpose in life was also Lynn.
Lynn gave her new life... Lynn was her God!
Raven looked at Lynn with fervent eyes, and an extremely pure power of faith appeared in the Inner World.
Is this the power of faith from a believer?
Completely different from ordinary power of faith.
More advanced, purer, and... endless!
Lynn was slightly stunned, and suddenly opened his hand.
Raven's power of faith condensed in Lynn's palm, and a golden crystal appeared in his palm.
Lynn looked at the golden crystal in his palm, a hint of surprise flashing in his eyes.
He had not anticipated what was happening now.
He tossed the golden crystal in his hand, then flicked it lightly with his finger, and the faith crystal transformed into a golden stream of light, flying towards the Lake of Faith.
Plop!
The faith crystal fell into the lake, sinking to the bottom like a seed.
"Lynn, what was that?"
"Your power of faith, it's very brilliant."
"My power of faith?"
Raven murmured, her eyes growing even more fervent, as if her entire being was ablaze.
Lynn looked at Raven like this, pinching his chin with a slight smile.
Things were going much smoother than expected.
Raven had indeed not disappointed him, and could even be said to have exceeded his hopes.
Although for now there was only Raven as a believer, the importance of a perfect beginning for future development was self-evident.
Lynn led Raven back to the Lake of Faith, and after sitting on the grass, he softly asked: "Interested in telling me your story?"
Raven fell silent for a moment, her eyes narrowed, a hint of fear appearing, yet she feigned calmness and said: "There's nothing to tell."
But after several seconds of silence, she still told Lynn what had happened to her.
She awakened her Mutant abilities at a very young age, and because of this, her parents treated her as a monster.
Fortunately, with her abilities, she had no worries about food and drink; even if her parents abandoned her, she lived quite comfortably.
What was rare was that she didn't give up on herself or go astray; instead, she used her Mutant abilities to attend school normally.
Until three years ago, she was discovered and captured by Sentinel Services, becoming their experimental subject.
"On the day of the Chitauri invasion, someone invaded the Base where I was being experimented on, and I escaped in the chaos."
Raven pursed her lips, looking at Wolverine nearby, a hint of fear appearing on her face.
"But the next day he appeared and started chasing me, trying to take me back."
After that, she was injured and met Lynn.
Lynn pondered for a moment, then pointed at Wolverine, who was planted in the grass.
"Do you know anything about him?"
