Chapter 1 - The Awakening

Steve opened his eyes.

But there was no ceiling… no bed… no memory.

Just a bright square sun floating in a perfectly blue sky.

The air felt strange, too clean, too silent, and somehow… artificial. He sat up slowly, feeling the rough texture of the grass blocks beneath his hands. Everything around him looked sharp and full of straight edges: square trees, square shadows, square clouds drifting lazily overhead.

"Where… am I?" Steve whispered, though he wasn't expecting an answer.

He stood up, his legs shaky. The world stretched endlessly in every direction, forests, hills, mountains, all made of blocks. It felt familiar, yet he couldn't remember why.

His mind was empty.

No past.No name.No purpose.

But then… a strange instinct pulsed through him.

Punch the tree.

He didn't know how he knew that, but his body moved on its own. His fist struck the trunk of the nearest tree. Instead of pain, he heard a hollow thud, and the wood cracked into floating fragments before popping into his hands.

He stared at the wooden block.

"I… did that?"

Something deep inside him was changing, like his instincts were waking up faster than his memories.

Suddenly, a distant growl echoed from the shadows of the forest. Steve froze. His heart raced. Every instinct screamed the same thing:

Survive.Move.Now.

He scanned the area. The sun was already sinking, dropping pixel by pixel toward the horizon. A strange fear washed over him, and he didn't know why… until another instinct whispered inside his mind:

Monsters come at night.

He didn't know what monsters. He didn't know how he knew. But one thing was clear:

He needed shelter. Fast.

Steve gathered wood as quickly as he could. His hands moved like they had done this a thousand times, crafting planks, placing blocks, building a tiny hut. The world around him darkened, turning cold.

A distant hiss slithered through the darkness.

Steve backed into his half-finished shelter and held his breath.

He didn't know this world. He didn't know himself. But he knew one thing now:

Night in this world was deadly.

And this… was only the beginning.
