Chapter 100: Uncle For The Win
Milim kept her eyes on her knees. "Varion got hurt because of me. I let him go through that same feeling I had… of being a monster because of his instincts. I should have taught him how to control them. I should have warned him what it would feel like. I should have done so much better than this."
Veldora was quiet for a second. Then he nodded, not looking away from her. "Yeah. You really did mess up pretty bad Milim."
She flinched at how easily he agreed and dropped her gaze lower.
"But it's not past fixing," he said, voice still low. "You're the one person who actually understands what he's dealing with right now, You know how this works. A dragon's wrath isn't something we decide to turn off and on. It's just… like a rule of our existence, It's how we're made. You and Varion are the only two people in the world stuck between being human and being a dragon at the same time, so that jarring rage is much worse."
He shifted a little on the couch. "Varion more than you, honestly. But you still know what it feels like, you had to be dragged back from that rage by force with no one to help you afterward. Varion has you. He has Rimuri, the Elf girl, and that scary vampire."
He says with the slightest bit of fear entering his voice.
"He's not going to end up the same way you did. You know why?!" He says smiling broadly at the end.
Milim shook her head slowly, still staring at the floor. She glanced up at him for a second, surprised by how…. Reliable he sounded.
'Come on Master Jiraiya, Kamina, don't fail me now.' He thinks
Veldora suddenly jumped up beside the couch, planting one foot on the arm and pointing at her with a wide grin. "Because you're here! You're the one who's going to make sure he doesn't fall into that same despair you did! Yeah, you messed up, but now you have the chance to fix it!!!! BWAHAHAHA!" he slipped back into his normal excited self again.
His loud energy may have been back, but the words still carried real weight and hit Milim in the correct place. She rubbed at her eyes with the heel of her hand and let out a shaky breath that almost turned into a laugh. 'Your such a stupid dork… but, you're right.' she thought
She straightened up, shoulders set, and looked at him properly. "You're exactly right… I messed up but I can still help him and fix this... Thank you Uncle Veldora."
Veldora froze with his foot still on the couch. The grin dropped off his face as he stared at her, completely caught off guard, then slipped and smacked his head on the couch.
'This time I won't play around, I'll make sure nothing ever hurts you again, Varion.' she thinks to herself as her eyes glow with a certain intensity to them.
-Else where around the same time-
Roy Valentine stepped out of the tree line and onto the narrow path that cut through the woods outside the holy capital. The new moon left the trail dim, but he had no trouble seeing the figure a short distance ahead. There leaning against a tree with one hand braced against the trunk and breathing hard was a man known as Laplace. His coat was torn in several places and he was covered in blood and scratches.
Roy stopped a few paces away. "There are so many of you insects scurrying for cover recently. All of you trying to avoid getting stepped on, after irritating those stronger than you."
Laplace lifted his head and narrowed his eyes in confusion and his usual light goofy tone was missing when he spoke. "What do you mean by that?"
Roy's mouth curved. "Just that, Clayman died not long ago, Demon Lord Rimuri Tempest ended him."
Laplace went still. His hand tightened against the tree. "Wha… what did you say?"
"That foolish maggot thought he could trick and play demon lords against each other," Roy continued, voice light. "The sniveling rat even had the nerve to beg for mercy after enraging two of them. One of them was even the chosen one of Her Holiness. It was a pathetic end indeed."
A low strangled sound of anger left Laplace's throat. As he pushed off the tree and took a step forward. "Are you being serious? Is Clayman dead?"
Roy laughed. "You just confirmed you were connected. Hahaha. It is all by the will of Luminous that her plans fall into place."
Laplace's posture straightened. He started toward Roy with his fist already raised. "What the hell are you laughing about?"
Roy looked at him, one brow lifting. "What do you think you're doin—"
The rest of the sentence cut off as Laplace's fist slammed into his face. The impact staggered Roy back a few steps. His eyes widened for a fraction of a second before the fight started in earnest.
Laplace closed the distance again without hesitation. Roy raised his arms to block, but the punches kept coming sliding right past his defenses. Each one landed heavier than the last as blood hit the dirt between them. Roy tried to gather himself and use a skill, but Laplace was already inside his guard again. The vampire took another hit across the jaw and dropped to one knee.
Laplace stepped in and his hand shot for the center of Roy's chest.
Then out of nowhere a barrier snapped into place around Laplace, locking him in place and holding him there. The air inside the barrier shimmered once. Laplace's eyes went wide behind the mask. Roy stayed on one knee, staring at the wall that had not come from either of them.
A voice spoke directly into Roy's mind. It was calm, flat, and carried a faint edge of satisfaction.

Roy's breathing slowed. He stayed where he was for a moment, then lowered his head toward the empty air. "Thank you… for protecting what matters to Her Holiness."
No answer came, then just as suddenly as the barrier appeared it collapsed inward, and Laplace vanished with it. The area went quiet again and Roy was left where he was on one knee for another few seconds before he pushed himself upright and looked at the empty space where the jester had been.
Meanwhile Raphael observed the figure floating inside the isolated section of Rimuri's Stomach. The clown's body hung motionless within the barrier she had constructed around him the moment the transfer completed. His mask was still in place, as well as his coat was torn in several places from the earlier fight. But none of that truly mattered to her. She had already locked his consciousness and put him into a deep sleep so he would not wake during the process.
She ran a full scan across every layer of his existence, then paused. She ran it again, then a third time. The results aligned exactly across all three scans.
[Confirmed. Genetic and spiritual structure closely matches Prinz Grimwald, Elyun Grimwald, Erald Grimwald, Sylvia El Ru, and Empress Elmesia.]
The data settled into her records. She did not transmit the finding to her Master or Mistress. They were occupied with something far more important right now, this did not require their attention.
['I will just go ahead and resolve this for Master and Mistress, so as not to bother them with such a minor issue. They will surely be please with this out come.'']
She isolated the relevant records and began the procedure. She stripped the necromancy that had been forced onto the original body away and discarded what was un needed. Then the false ego that had been constructed over the original identity was peeled away and disposed of as well. Until nothing of it remained, The physical body was reconstructed from the base template that she had pulled from the souls blueprint from before the alterations. The soul was restored to its prior state, the damage from the incomplete resurrection process corrected without issue. Memories that had been locked away or fragmented were retrieved and reintegrated without alteration. She confirmed that there were no issues present multiple times before she decided that she was done.
[Process complete. Subject returned to full capacity as a True Hero and identity as Sarion Grimwald returned in full.]
She then began analyzing and cataloging the structure of a True Hero in detail for later reference for use for her masters.
Raphael closed the observation and left him there for later when her master was in a mood to receive such a gift. Then she returned her attention to the other processes still running.
-Ice continent: After Walpurgis-
Guy stepped through the gate and into the cold halls of his palace. He walked casually with one hand in his pocket, and his mind stayed on the meeting he had just left.
'Varion Nava.'
'What am I supposed to do with you? You're going to change this game of ours in ways I can't predict.'
Then suddenly an excited grin appeared on his face. He spoke out loud into the empty corridor. "I love it! This is going to be the most fun I've had in years! I need to tell Velzard about him too. Her reaction will be priceless."
Guy made his way to where she normally sat and stopped in the doorway of the room. Velzard was already there, seated by the window reading a book. She looked over when he entered.
"You're back early, did something happen." she said.
"The Walpurgis ended faster than I thought it would." He leaned against the frame. "A few interesting things happened though. Clayman's dead. A slime named Rimuri killed him, she's a new demon lord, Frey and Carrion both stepped down and put themselves under Milim. But that's not the most interesting part."
Velzard tilted her head slightly in interest, because if Guy found it interesting so would she.
"There's another new Demon Lord," Guy continued. "His name is Varion. Varion Nava and he's a Dragonoid, Veldanava's son to be precise. He arrived with that slime I was talking about. Then when Clayman struck Milim he exploded releasing both his Demon Lord haki and his dragon spirit haki at once. He even managed to pressure Draguel with it which was funny to see. He also naturally owned the space around him by accident and wouldn't let me expand the room until he pulled it back, granted i didnt really try but still."
Velzard's fingers stilled against the arm of her chair. The ice around her slowed.
"Veldanava's son," she said.
"Yeah." Guy's mouth curved. "And he's already collecting powerful people Milim, Rimuri, Luminous, and get this he even managed to recruit Blanc and name her, she is acting as his loyal maid, hahaha. I don't know what he's going to do next. That's the part I like the most."
Velzard was quiet for a moment. Then she leaned forward, now very interested.
"Tell me more." she said in a demanding tone with her eyes locked on Guy's like a predator.
-Author notes-
"New idea I'm working on: ZZZ x Destiny.
A guardian gets dropped into zzz with no memories so it will be funny and chaotic.
Also the have never had contact with another guardian.
No class lock, since those are mostly social in Destiny in destiny lore. No Hive, Vex, or other Destiny factions planned for now.
The first chapter is already written. Would this be interesting to read?"
So please please please please leave a comment if it sounds interesting or not
