Chapter 1 - C1 Stir The Salt

Izuku sat on his bed as the events of the past couple of days weighed on his mind. To say he was nervous was an understatement, especially after the last conversation he had with All Might.

The USJ attack had opened his eyes, and now Izuku only had less than two weeks to train for the sports festival.

It would have been fine under normal circumstances, but he still had absolutely no idea how to use One For All safely. And All Might's expectation of him to 'show the world that he was here' did not help his growing anxiety.

Not to mention that now his idol only has about an hour in his muscle form because of his fight with the nomu.

Izuku sighed, "At least they gave us a week and a half to prepare for the sports festival".

Luckily, they also didn't need to go to school at that time, of course, their teachers gave them tons of homework, but still, all of class 1A had free time to train for the sports festival, and Izuku was especially glad about that.

Izuku promised himself during the conversation with All Might that he would do anything within his power to control One For All during this break. He wanted to stop being such a disappointment.

So the first thing Izuku did after getting back from school was sit down on his bed with one of his analysis books in hand.

He didn't know why he had never thought of analyzing One For All before, maybe at first, he hoped that UA would try to help him a little with that, but accept All Might, no teacher talked to him about his so now he was all on his own.

'Did no one ever look at my file and see that I got the quirk on the day of the entrance exam?, that is a good enough explanation as to why no one ever bothered to help me, maybe they just thought I never bothered to train my quirk'.

"But a hero school's supposed to help with that", he sighed again, he was starting to do that a lot today.

He loved All Might, both as a hero and as a mentor, but the man didn't truly know how to teach yet, the only advice Izuku got before the entrance exam was to clench his butt cheeks and yell smash...

And while All Might didn't expect such a reaction, because apparently the man could control one hundred percent right off the bat. It was still pretty painful, but he still gave Izuku a good enough explanation as to why this happened.

Izuku opened his analysis notebook, obviously, he couldn't write all of the secrets of One For All in his notebook, as his notebook could easily get into the wrong hands.

So firstly he wrote the undercover name he and All Might decided to give his quirk, "Stockpile", he muttered.

'This quirk allows the user to stockpile strength', he wrote, the more the user trains, the more the stockpile grows, obviously, he didn't write that passing It on will also enhance it's strength.

Izuku was still terribly shocked about the fact that one day he'd be even more powerful than All Might due to that fact, he didn't really want to think about that.

He continued writing, 'Due to the quirk being so strong, my four-year-old body could not support it, so I didn't know I even had a quirk until my body was strong enough. Still, I seem to have trouble using it, every time I have used it so far, it made my limbs shatter.

"Is it because my body still can't handle one hundred percent of the stockpile?, or is it because I push all of the power into one limb every time I activate it, isn't it how All Might use it though?".

However, as Izuku was about to continue, his mother called him for dinner.

"Izuku, food is ready!" Inko called from the kitchen.

Izuku smiled as he heard his mom call for him, he put his notebook inside his pocket as he made his way to the kitchen.

After he arrived, he sat down near the table and waited for his mom to give him his plate, opening his hero notebook once more, Izuku continued to analyze his quirk, he couldn't waste any time.

After a couple of minutes his mom arrived with both of their plates, Izuku put his notebook aside, but not that far that he couldn't reach it anymore.

"Thanks, Mom", he said as she gave him his plate.

Inko smiled at him as she sat down In front of him, "You're welcome, Izu".

After a couple of minutes of eating Inko passed the salt to Izuku after adding some to herself, as she noticed she didn't put enough salt, she also noticed that Izuku wasn't concentrating on the food at all as he was looking at his notebook, though he was still eating.

"Izuku be careful, you should concentrate on your food", she said, making Izuku look up at her, "I passed you the salt I think I forgot to add any".

Izuku nodded, though he still was not focusing on his food as he started to add salt to his meal, he was too focused on One For All's analysis. So when he took another bite, he certainly noticed his mistake.

Izuku made a sour face as he reached for his cup of water, "Ughh".

Inko chuckled as she looked at her son, "Izuku is everything alright? Ever since you started eating you haven't taken your eyes off of your notebook". She said as she got up from her seat. "Let me fix your meal", she said, taking his meal.

Izuku sighed as he closed his notebook, "Thanks Mom".

Inko returned after a few moments, she gave Izuku his plate back as she sat down, Izuku thanked her and he took another bite of his food.

"Wow Mom you completely fixed it", he said as he continued eating, "What did you do to fix it?", he asked.

Inko smiled as she explained, "Nothing much Izu, I just added some more broth and stirred it a little, luckily you didn't add too much salt for it to be unbearable".

Izuku smiled as he nodded his head, but as he took another bite his eyes widened with a sudden realization, Izuku shot up from his chair. "That's it! Mom, you're a genius!".

Inko looked at her son weirdly, "What do you mean Izuku, this is basic cooking knowledge".

"No I got it all wrong!", Izuku said as he opened his hero notebook once more, "Mom, I'm the broth and my quirk is the salt!".

"Izuku are you sure you're okay?", Inko asked worriedly.

"Mom don't you get it! All this time I have been using my quirk in just one place at a time, turning it off and on instead of using my whole body, just like you're explanation of the broth and the salt".

Izuku had Inko's full attention once he mentioned his quirk, the boy put his notebook down once he finished writing in it, and standing in front of his mother Izuku began explaining himself.

"I need to 'stir' the 'salt' throughout my whole body, and to not make it unbearable or shatter it in my case", Izuku scratched the back of his neck with a nervous grin once he mentioned that, "I just need to add less 'salt' throughout my body, even though I can access the whole of it".

Before Inko could protest Izuku began to put his theory into practice, instead of pushing the whole of One For All into one limb at a time, Izuku took a little piece of the whole thing and let it flow throughout his entire body.

At this point, Izuku could sort of 'feel' the quirk easily enough that it didn't take him that long to succeed, One For All always felt like he had a fire lit inside his heart.. Or something like that at least.

It was definitely hard to spread his power throughout his body instead of just putting it in one place, and he needed a few moments to focus to succeed, but he eventually did.

Izuku heard Inko's gasp as he opened his eyes, his body wasn't hurt but he definitely felt a small amount of strain, he looked at his body and saw that now he had red veins throughout his entire body with green lightning flowing around him.

"Izuku are you okay!", Inko gasped as she rushed towards him, taking his arms in hers.

"Yeah Mom, I'm fine", Izuku said as he moved his arms around, though he did notice that it was a little difficult, not because of the strain, Izuku was very familiar with pain at this point. It was the sheer speed that his arms were moving that he was not used to.

'Up until this point, I have been using One For All on and off so I understand why I'm not used to the speed just yet'.

"Thanks, Mom, I wouldn't have realized it this soon without you", Izuku said as he turned off his quirk.

Inko sniffed as she looked at her son, "Oh Izu I'm glad", she said as she hugged him. "Now you don't have to hurt yourself with your quirk, right?". She asked.

Izuku nodded his head as he hugged her back, "Yeah Mom, now I can use my quirk without breaking any bones", he smiled as the two broke their hug, "I should tell this to Yagi-san as soon as possible".

Inko nodded her head, "It's that mentor of yours that helped you with your ten months of training, right? I do want to meet him someday, Izuku". She said, giving him a serious look.

Izuku was nervous at first, but he was kind of tired of keeping the secret of One For All from his mom, she even helped him with controlling it!

"Alright Mom, I'll talk to him", he said as he grabbed his phone, "Should I invite him...here?", he asked nervously, he had no idea how All Might would react to the fact that his Mom wanted to meet him.

"Not now Izuku", Inko said, taking his phone from him, "You should eat first!".

Izuku nodded his head as the both of them returned to the table.
