Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Yin and Yang

"How soon can we begin?"

Despite what he said, John wasn't in much of a hurry. He wanted to explore everything about his dream so he could go back and write a book about it. What kind of book? Well, that was the ultimate question.

Maybe if he had some kind of comment section full of readers he would know.

{Note: We can begin now. The moons' personalities will be randomized unless you wish to take over yourself?}

John had to think about it for a minute. He wanted to defy the system as much as he could, but this time it was giving him only two options. Clearly it wanted to give him an ultimatum. As expected of his imagination.

He continued thinking until he realized something.

"How many moons do I have? And will this hurt?"

Even he couldn't believe he'd forgotten to ask that.

{You have 112 moons, but you only have enough yin energy to create 31 sentient moons. As for pain, yes, it will hurt a lot. However, most of the contaminated yin energy has also been further contaminated by foreign yang energy. The system will use that yang energy to heal you.}

{Remark: You might even become manlier?}

'Manlier? What does that mean? I know yin energy is supposed to represent women, so does that mean I'll be absorbing the yang energy of other men???

That sounds a little…

Ugh, I should've stayed a virgin.'

"Ugh, as disgusting as that sounds, I guess I should do it. Having loyal servants/moons sounds like a good idea, and I don't trust this thing yet."

Once he said that, another screen appeared in front of his face. This one looked a lot like a character-creation kit. This thing had everything.

"Um, system? Why can I adjust body parts and clothes? Also, why are they all female?"

That's right—the system was offering WAY too many details. This reminded him of that cyberware game, except now you could design the personality and private parts as well.

{Host must understand that your servants will only be able to show their projections within a certain radius of their true bodies. They can only visit you or each other for now. As for why they are all female, that is because you will be using yin energy to make them… unless, of course, you want to heal yourself with yin energy? That would make you more feminine, however.}

John tried imagining that for himself and didn't know how that would even work. A dream couldn't affect his personality no matter what, but at the same time… being around 31 obscenely loyal women… who he could literally make in his own image?

"Wait… does this count as grooming?"

'Best not to think about it.'

After that last thought, he went back to the creation kit.

After looking at all the options, he realized there was a search bar at the top. John was confused about it, so he clicked it. Underneath the search bar were icons that explored more… exotic options.

"ALIENS!"

Female aliens, some of which looked oddly familiar—dwarves, elves, beastmen. The beastwoman was given the option to change her sub-race at any given moment.

He immediately picked all three, but he also looked at other, more freaky options.

There was a giant insect-looking creature. Thankfully, when he asked about it, he was given details from [God's Eye]. Apparently, they were known for giving birth to galaxy-devouring pests. Very cool.

'I'm not that interested in anything too alien though. I've always been an advocate for human supremacy. However… I think I need to consider extending that belief to humanoid races as well.'

With that thought, he typed in the names of every humanoid race he could think of.

"This might even help me create some great lore."

Of course, that was the only thing John could think of. Entertainment.

"Every saga must have its backstories. Maria was born from the supposed first universe I read about in her race bio. She met me about a billion years ago and we got married in secret in another dimension. She is loving, compassionate, and loyal… and done. Wait, what?"

John looked at the status screen and noticed something called Personality Points, and they had just gone down as soon as he moved Maria into the cart.

{Personality Points are unlike the physical side. If you want your future subordinates to be loyal to you, then you must spend wisely.}

{Note: All personality types are taken from the yin energies attached to you, measured, and finally simplified for your understanding.}

John scratched his head in contemplation and thought about Maria. Some of her personality categories had things like compassion 0/10 or hot-headed 0/10, among many others.

'I didn't realize I had a limited number.'

What was worse was that all these points were taken from all the women John had ever slept with—and it was definitely more than 31.

"Why can't I have more points?"

{Host, more points means fewer sentient moons.}

That actually made a lot of sense.

If John created 112 sentient moons, they would most likely all be emotionally devoid or worse—disloyal.

That's fine if you're talking about some girlfriend or real person, but this was just some random NPC, and even if it wasn't, why would John ever want a sentient moon that revolved around him to start having thoughts of rebellion?

After going back to Maria's status board, he had to take all these things into account and lower her points. Nothing too crazy—just lowering traits that didn't make sense for her personality type or the kind of laws she would study (whatever those were).

She didn't need things like curiosity, anger, contempt, or any negative emotions. As an archangel, she was above that.

Of course, her honesty had to be a little lower.

Finally, she could be attached to any moon chosen for her. After looking at the details of a certain moon, John tied her to one with a high concentration of white marble.

It made the moon look incredibly white.

"This kinda makes sense…"

Next he moved onto Sofia, the arch demon. She also had 10/10 in obsession points.

"Who had so much obsession for me…? Wait—oh yeah, how could I forget about 'the one who shall not be named'? I'm pretty sure that chick broke into my house and stole my dirty socks… There's no doubt that as soon as I wake up I'll most likely be asked to pay child support. Crazy bitch."

Of course, the "chick" he mentioned was a crazy stalker who refused to leave him alone—but she wasn't the only one. John had a strong tendency to date the bold and the loony.

Most chicks he dated, you would think they were straight out of the mental ward. Some probably were.

"There was also one chick who put cement powder down my gas cap because she thought I was cheating on her… No wonder I have so many obsession points…"

Moving on.

"Sofia will be the hot-and-spicy one… Big or flat…? Cough… does it matter?"

After making Sofia a 7/10 in the hot-tempered category and an 8/10 in revenge-driven, it was time to move on.

Now we move onto Elizabeth.

'After searching around, I actually found a humanoid section. There are races I've never even heard of, and apparently celestials are a race immune to the corrosive power of divine energy and the personality changes that come from deity cultivation. That sounds wicked! I want one.

'Obviously these weren't the real thing, but from what the system told me, it's probably temporary. I think we'll gain real bodies sooner or later. If so, I need to make sure they're perfect.'

As for Elizabeth, she was made to be arrogant, prideful, and of course obsessively loyal to John. With big boobs.

Author's Note

Hello! It is me—the author.

I hope you're all enjoying the book. Now, I've been reading and writing long enough to know what you guys want. Let me tell you, I don't know if I want to take the harem direction. I've always been on the fence about it personally, mostly because I like realistic scenarios, and sadly harems—and even reverse harems—exist.

But honestly, I think most are written very sloppily. Too many women that you never hear from again after they've been introduced, and worst of all, the MC is usually always a massive d-bag.

I know I mentioned how the MC hates hedonism and honestly, so do I, but I still wanted to create a character who was a little more human. So I've decided that if people do want harems, then I'm just going to go all-out on pure negligence.

In other words, screw them. There are like 31 women—that's 31 backstories, 31 romantic arcs, 31 headaches to write about, and worst of all, to read about.

So yeah, I made it so they have no backstory or even a deep emotional bond. I made it artificial because all of these "women" are just tools, and that's all they ever will be.

Either as trophy wives or just tools that John will tell others are his wives for the self-made lore and the desire to intimidate his enemies.

And with that out of the way, I hope you all enjoy and drop a few power stones—I definitely need it.
