Chapter 66 - chapter 66

The harpie girl happily jumps at the older harpie's hand as she says that she's still hurt, and the girl apologises before thanking Clad wich, who took her apology with no issue whatsoever.

Clad attempts to call Laura to tell her about their current situation.

BZZZZ!

[Laura, it's me, Clad]

[What?]

[We ran into two harpies and had to save them from monsters.]

[Did you kill the monsters?] Laura asked.

[Yes.]

[Good, now leave the harpies]

[Huh, Why?] He asked.

[They can't distract you from the main goal of the mission.]

[Right, got it]

As Clad turned off the call, he looked at the fatigued harpie as she was speaking to the little harpie girl.

"I cannot fly anymore..." She said with a sad look on her face.

With one arm, and started thinking of how her arm could be brought back, and an idea came to mind, one he didn't like, but one regardless.

Ugh...

"I don't want to do this, but it might be the only thing we could do..."

"Do what, you're not going to hurt me, are you?"

"Get on your knees and start praying to Mordaar."

The harpie stayed silent before asking him:

"Mordaar? Who's that?"

"He's a god that I know", he replies with a slightly annoyed look on his face.

"From what I remember, Mordaar is the god of transformation; he should be able to repair her body..." Clad thought.

"Pray? Why?" the woman asked him in confusion.

"You are going to see when you start praying", which scares her a little bit before she decides to start.

"But uh, how do I start praying to him?"

"I don't know, try anything."

....

"Okay, I'll start..."

Ahem Ahem

"Oh Mordaar, may the mighty humbly heed my call?"

As she finishes her prayer, a sudden change could be felt in the environment as a red silhouette materialised in front of her kneeling body.

!?

"Holy shit, it actually worked", Clad said in surprise, as he didn't expect her prayer to work, as he taught it was pretty mediocre.

The silhouette eventually turned into what seemed to them to be a physical body made of red energy, and had missing legs, as only the top half of his body was fully constructed.

!

As Mordaar looked around, he saw Swan, the soldiers and the two harpies, with one of them missing their arm, and he could already get an idea what this was about.

"Hey, Clad, been a while!" he says.

"It's been two days."

"Well, yeah, whatever, how's my daughter?"

"She's fine," Clad replied to him.

"Good!" He says happily.

"By the Clad, do you want to meet my other children?, there really nice!"

"No, not right now, I'm kind of busy with something."

"But you could help me with something real quick?"

"You are Jill's friend, of course I could!"

Clad hesitated a bit before telling him why she called him, with a prayer before explaining how she lost her arm.

"So...Could you heal that woman's arm?"

"Hmmm..."

"I could."

"Really!?" The woman said, full of excitement, as Mordaar's word gave her more hope for her future life.

"But I'd need something from you in exchange."

??

"What could it be?"

"Become my saint."

!?

"Becoming his saint!?"

"Becoming a god's saint comes with things such as gaining a portion of their powers. If you become a saint for long enough, you could even eventually become a divine being, although under the god you follow, you still become a divine being!" Clad thought as he was shocked that Mordaar casually proposed such a great deal to her.

"I don't know what being a saint means, but if it means getting my ability to fly back, then I accept."

"Alright then, lend me your head."

As she leaned towards him, Mordaar put his palm on her forehead and suddenly felt a surge of foreign energy enter her body and rapidly reconstruct it. She felt like her body was as light as a feather and that she soared higher than any being. She could only describe this feeling in one way.

"I have been reborn better..." She muttered as her appearance also changed, her yellow eyes became red, and her colourful blue feathers became black and white, shocking the little girl.

!!!

"That is.... so cool!!!" she shouts as sparkles lit up her eyes.
