Chapter 1 - 1 Back to modern times!

In a quiet inner room, a young lady lay on her bed. She had long, hip-length hair and soft, delicate features. She wore a plain but fine white inner robe.

The young lady let out soft sobs as clear, pearl-like tears ran down her perfectly sculpted face.

"Why me?!" she sobbed into her sheets.

Mingzhu, a delicate and carefree girl of just 19, had realized she had transmigrated into a fictional dynasty of the Zing era.

At first, Mingzhu was excited! She had read many books with these themes—rebirth, reincarnation—and all of them ended with the female lead being pampered to the heavens, with true love in one hand and support in the other.

Mingzhu, a girl raised in the palm of her family's hands, was spoiled and naive. Right after her transmigration, she was happily bouncing around by a lake when she fell in! That's when a random man—who turned out to be a Duke—saved her.

They hit it off immediately! Love at first sight on Mingzhu's part.

Transmigrated at 18 and married at 19. Fun, right?

Nah.

Mingzhu, a pampered little girl, started to miss home—her mother's hugs and her father's gentle care. To top it all off, three months into her marriage, her newfound husband took a powerful concubine and demoted her to concubine status while elevating the other woman.

It was okay. Mingzhu kind of expected it… just not so soon. Her pride couldn't handle it, and she started longing for home. Why did she have to suffer like this? Why couldn't she be like those independent female leads?

Because stories and reality are worlds apart.

So she made a list of things that aggravated her:

1. Her husband had too many concubines. He probably forgot she even existed.

2. She missed Mommy's spicy homemade noodles.

3. She missed the little dress Daddy made for her.

4. These fabrics were too rough.

5. She couldn't go outside because she was a girl??? So strict!

With great regret, she cursed herself for the plushie she left on her bed—the gift she never got to give her brother for his birthday.

As she cried, a chime rang in her mind. She instantly stopped sobbing, confused.

Mingzhu: ???

{System binding…}

{Binding complete!}

{Welcome, Host, to the Live Broadcasting System.}

Mingzhu blinked… then blinked again.

Her golden finger had arrived!

In those system stories, if you earned points, there was an option to go home to Earth for one million points.

Could this system do that too?

{Host has 10 minutes to prepare to crossover.}

Mingzhu froze.

Crossover? Like… to another world?

She quickly asked, "Live broadcasting system? What are you? And what does crossover mean?"

{This is a live streaming system. The Host must record her daily life and broadcast it to the people of a randomized fictional world. The world has already been selected, and the Host will be transferred to another realm to make the live broadcast more interesting.}

Mingzhu's eyes brightened… then dimmed.

If it was random, there might be no chance to meet her family again.

"U-Um… system, has the world already been chosen?"

{Yes, Host. The realm you will enter is the modern world. For convenience, you will resume your original identity as the Ming Family's third child.}

Mingzhu's eyes watered.

She was going to meet her family again!

"Okay! Let's do this!" Mingzhu pumped her fists. She was ready to show these ancestors what a girl could do! No more waiting for a man! Her husband was useless anyway!

{Transfer will begin in… three… two… one.}
